1 Welcome, to the Inaugural Boston University Baseball Newsletter. During the course of the school year, we will release monthly updates on the happenings within and around the team. September 2018 We had a successful season. In the fall of 2017, we competed in the New England Club Baseball Association (NECBA). After winning the Southeast division, we ultimately fell short in the quarter-final game against Babson. In the spring of 2018, we competed in the American Club Baseball Association (ACBA) and again won our division, but lost in the semi-finals against Franklin Pierce University. From last year s team we lost Seniors SS Zach Coles, 2B/C Mike Sandstrom, OF Matthew Basso, 1B Tyler Hickman, and 3B Robert Buckshaw. From this group of seniors we lost valuable production both on the mound and at the plate, but have brought in plenty of new talent. We had a productive tryout period, taking 15 new players ranging from freshman to graduate students. Our season is off to a hot start as we have jumped out to a 5-0 record, defeating Babson twice, Maine twice, and Harvard thus far. The fall semester still features a road trip to SUNY Albany as well as other league games as we hope to qualify for the playoffs.
