8 MODE OF ARRIVAL Arrived by Frequency Percent Ambulance % Police 55 Private % Public 298 2% Other 8 5% Total 55 The half yearly data indicates that the highest mode of arrival was through private means covering 5% followed by ambulance covering 38% respectively. 8

12 HELMET USAGE Motorbike Rider Frequency Percent Wearing Helmet 27 5% Not Wearing Helmet % Total 79 From a total of 5,5casualties during the first 6 months of 2, the information regarding the helmet usage was obtained from only 79 casualty cases. The above analysis is done on the basis of those 79 cases which shows that the percentage of persons wearing helmet is considerably lower than those who are not wearing helmet. 2

For Passengers, the highest vehicle involvement is of Bus/Minibus/Coach. The highest vehicle involvement in driver accident cases comes out to be rickshaw covering 27 percent respectively. 7

30 HALF YEARLY COMPARISON OF 29 & 2 %Change Over % Jan to June Frequency ROAD USER GROUP Road User Group Rider/Pillion Rider Pedestrian Passenger Drivers Unknown Total % Change Over 29-6% % 2% -9% % The half yearly comparison shows that the casualties of vulnerable road user groups i.e. rider/pillion and Pedestrian increased by 6% and % respectively. It is worth mentioning to note that the highest increase in casualties are of drivers with a percentage variation of. 3

A considerable increase of 25% is observed in the involvement of Ambulance as the arrival mode. 32
