Collaboration with Korea: EUREKA & KSI Objectives Promoting competitiveness of companies through collaborative international R&D Characteristics Projects generated and presented by collaborating firms Bottom- Up approach Permanently Open Call for tenders all along the year (in Spain) Decentralized funding: NO common pot nor exchange of funds. Korea-Spain Bilateral Programme (KSI) Managed jointly by: Primary goal: To foster the technology cooperation between entities of Korea and Spain through joint research and development -and technology transfer projects Other goals: To create a bilateral framework within the two countries for the support of projects generation. Korea-Spain Bilateral Programme (KSI) Relationship between CDTI and Korean institutions 1996 : Signing of first CDTI-ITEP understanding 1997 : Signing of understanding with SBC : Renewal of understanding with ITEP, giving rise to KSI bilateral programme. The same understanding includes the update of corresponding articles to enable access of the SBC centre to project funding 2009 : ITEP disappeared and their competencies were assumed by KIAT, which is the present co-manager of KSI. Participation entrepreneurial of minimun 1 entity from Korea and 1 from Spain 4. Project in collaboration (no technology transfer). 5. Participants: technical and managerial qualification. 6.
