1 2014 NEW JERSEY DIAMOND GLOVE/LBC TOURNAMENT The New Jersey Diamond Glove/LBC Tournament will start on Friday, September 5th and run through Friday, October 10th. This Tournament is again merging with the LBC Tournament, so the winners of the OPEN class will advance to the Regionals and the winners their will go on to the Nationals. Because of this, ONLY Boxers from Our LBC can compete! We will also be including the New Jersey Junior Olympic Diamond Glove Championships. 2 N.J. DIAMOND GLOVES President N.J. Diamond Gloves/LBC - Henry Hascup The 2014 N.J. State Amateur Boxing Diamond Gloves Tournament will be held at various sites with the FINALS to will be held at the Linden High School in Linden, on Friday, October 4th (weigh-in at 5 PM, Boxing starts at 7:30 PM). All boxers must be an amateur and registered with the NJ ASSN/USA/Boxing and have a USA Boxing PASSBOOK. DEFINITION OF AN OPEN BOXER: Any boxer who has 10 or more BOUTS. DEFINITION OF A BOXER: Any boxer who has 3 TO 9 BOUTS. DEFINITION OF A SUB- BOXER: Any boxer with 2 OR LESS BOUTS AT THE TIME OF THE TOURNMENT WEIGHT ALLOWANCES: (Up to SEMI-FINALS) 2 lb. in all classes ( 108, 114, 123, 132, 141, 152, 165, 178 ) SEMI-FINALS; 1 lb. FINALS; Weight. Heavyweight (201) and Super Heavyweight (201+) will be in accordance with the NJ ASSN/USA/Boxing rules and regulations as required. DRESS: All boxers will be required to furnish their own dress and equipment as follows, i.e.- head gear (competitive type, not training type), protective cup, trucks (boxing), mouth piece (form-fitting plastic type, not rubber type), boxing shoes or high top above ankle type sneakers. AWARDS: Each participant will receive a prize. All finalists in the Open & Novice Classes will receive an Outstanding pair of Championship Gloves that can be worn around the neck. Also the winners of the Open Class that BOX in the FINALS will receive a (World type) Championship Belt. Other awards to be made will be; THE OUTSTANDING PERFORMER OF THE TOURNAMENT, WINNER OF THE QUICKEST BOUT, BEST TEAM TROPHIES for the USA REGISTERED CLUB scoring the greatest number of points in the SEMI-FINALS and FINALS FOR 1 st, 2 nd, and 3 rd PLACES. LENGTH OF ROUNDS: Open Bouts are 3-3min rounds for Men; Women are 4-2min rounds. All Novice sand Sub Novice Mens and Womens are 3-2 min Rounds OFFICIALS: the NJ ASSN/USA/Boxing as required will assign all officials. IMPORTANT and SPECIAL NOTE: All BOXERS and SECONDS MUST be registered and licensed with the NJ ASSN/USA/Boxing for the year 2014, and MUST show the card or book to be admitted. After the entry closing date on midnight, August 22, 2014, an official list will be completed. This list will designate the boxer s affiliation for this tournament. You can also FAX or MAIL the enclosed Entry Blank to Henry Hascup at the address or fax number on the bottom of the entry form, but make sure your a registered boxer. ALL ENTRIES WILL BE HANDLED ON A FIRST-COME BASIS!!! IMPORTANT NOTICE!!! THERE MUST BE AT LEAST 2 BOXERS IN EACH WEIGHT CLASS AT THE START OF THE TOURNAMENT OR THERE WILL BE NO CLASS: NO WALK OVERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
