Accommodation during the events for the selected ITOs will be paid by the event organizers. The deadline for nominations for the and World Championships is on 31 st December by the NF using the link sent to the them from the ICF HQ, and please send a copy to cronberg@online.no Please note that this form should be filled only by the person responsible from the National Federation. The deadline for nominations for the European Championships is 15 th January to be send to eca.applications.officials@gmail.com with a copy to cronberg@online.no ICF CANOE MARATHON WORLD SERIES -18 REGULATIONS AND WORLD RANKING RACES FOR THE WORLD SERIES The ICF Canoe World Series consist of Canoe races selected by the Canoe Committee as the Classic Canoe races. These races together with the s and the World Championships form the World Series. A World Series starts with the first race after the World Championships and ends with the following World Championships. THE WORLD SERIES CLASSES AND COMPETITORS The World Series classes are: K1 Men K1 Women C1 Men C1 Women The World Series is open to all athletes who are members of clubs under a National Federation affiliated to the ICF. Individual race entries can be submitted directly to the race organizer according to the ICF rules, except for the and World Championships where entries are to be made by National Federations. MONEY PRIZES To be approved for the World Series a race must have money prizes for minimum the first 3 positions in the World Series classes. s and World Championships are exceptions to this requirement, but some s may have. 3 The allocation of points leads to the World Ranking with World Championships as the final event where the winners of each of the 4 classes will receive an ICF Trophy. FINAL CLASSICATION IN THE EVENT WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP WORLD CUP CLASSIC CANOE MARATHON RACES Where points in the series are equal, the paddler who has won the larger number of races will be the winner. In case that still being a tie, the most second places will be taken into account, and so on to third and fourth positions, until the position is determined. In the event that all places are equal, the winner will be determined by position of the most recent races completed, i.e. last event has highest priority. 6 WORLD CUP IN CHINA In China hosted a Canoe in Shaoxing and Shanghai. It was a big success with entries of paddlers from 25 countries around the World. It was also a test event for the 2019 World Championships which is to be held in Shaoxing. The course in Shaoxing is in the middle of town on the very idyllic river Huancheng Large crowds were watching along the banks Security was also tested at the Andrew BIRKETT/RSA was unbeatable in China, here on the podium with second Adrian BOROS/HUN and third Filippo VINCENZI/ITA ICF CANOE MARATHON NEWSLETTER -6 November Page 6/7
