2 UPDATE ON CANADA 150 PROGRAMS Follow-up to presentation on May 12, 2017 Provide an update on the inclusion of Indigenous peoples in the City of Toronto s Canada 150 activities. 2
3 NATIONAL ABORIGINAL DAY June 21 (National Aboriginal Day): 4643, IAF Attendance Total: 16,694 Reached over 1500 students with education and outreach programming over three days (21-23) 60 performers over 5 days, including award-winning artists Susan Aglukark, Crystal Shawanda, William Prince, and Ulali. Partners included the Aboriginal People's Television network for a live broadcast component on June 21st for National Aboriginal Day, as well as the Mississaugas of the New Credit First Nation. Ipsos survey results 94% of attendees would recommend NAD to friends & family 86% were satisfied with their experience at NAD 67% of attendees from Toronto 21% tourists (beyond 40km from Toronto), including 6% from outside of Canada 150 participants were surveyed 3
