6 6. THE STADIUM ARENA There is a saying in Iceland: If you don t like the weather right now, stick around for five minutes. In Iceland the climate is changeable and more often than not, Icelanders will experience the four annual seasons in the span of a day. We recommend that you bring layers with you to protect you from wind and rain. Work Plan Reykjavik 2014.docx Page 6 of 21

7 7. GYMNASTIC EQUIPMENT The LOC has an exclusive agreement with LEG Equipment that ensures an identical setup in both the Training Hall and Competition Hall. Appendix A includes a map of the Competition Hall. Details of the equipment were presented in the Directives for the European Championships, May Floor Colour: Light blue Trampet Please note that the teams are no longer allowed to bring their own trampet. Trampet: Dorado-36 and Dorado-40. In addition a softer LEG-32 will be available (special approval for these Championships to allow performance review under the proposal in the Equipment Standards document). The run-up mat will be fixed to the floor. The run-up mat will be restricted to 25 m by a run-up limiter placed at the start of the run-up. Blocking planks are being provided of various thicknesses. These go between the back of the trampet feet and the vault base. Currently, a combination of planks will enable distances of 50 mm to 325 mm in 25 mm steps. Additional sizes can be made available if required. Seniors: Women, Men and Mixed teams may use the vault at a variable height 150 cm to 165 cm. Juniors: Girls, Boys and Mixed teams may use the vault at a variable height 145 cm to 165 cm. Notes to the coaches Before the trampet performers enter the arena, the coaches must FIRST check the setting height of the vaulting table, the blocking pieces that set the distance between trampet and vaulting table, the additional safety mat position, the angle of the trampet and the fixing of the tape measure. Staff allocated to the equipment must do any alterations. Teams are not allowed to adjust the equipment. Officials will be available in the Training and Competition Halls to undertake this. It is the coaches responsibility to check these settings and if required ask for changes. Teams are requested to complete Form TGF05 at accreditation with details of their set-up requirements. 8. ACCREDITATION Accreditation will be held at the Laugardalshöll Arena (Competition arena). Each delegation will be assigned a time slot for their team s accreditation. The time schedule will be sent out as soon as teams have submitted their travel plans. 12 PROCEDURE FOR APPEALS AGAINST D SCORE If an appeal against the D score or any other issue is proposed, it must be made immediately after the score is displayed or the incident occurs. It should be made to the competition Floor Manager (FM), who will be positioned at the competitor s entrance to the Competition Hall. The time is limited to three minutes after score is shown. Only accredited coaches may give verbal appeals and they may not appeal against the score of other Teams. Submission of the Appeal form (Form TGF02) requires an agreement to a payment of Euro 300, for the first enquiry per Federation; Euro 500, for the second enquiry and Euro 1,000 for the third and any further enquiries. The FM will agree the time with the coach, enter it on a copy of the Appeal Form together with the Team Number and give it to the coach. The completed Appeal Form must be returned to the FM within four minutes. When returned, the time will be agreed and put on the form. The appeal must be in English and signed by the official coach. It should be noted that scores could go down as well as up. No fee is charged if the score is increased. Should the form not be returned within the time, it becomes obsolete. Fees should be paid to the Competition Director by the end of the day. PROCEDURE FOR STOPPING A ROUTINE Coach stopping a Routine Should a coach have need to stop a routine, for whatever reason, the following procedure should be followed. This applies only to the nominated coaches submitted at accreditation as eligible to submit appeals. Floor The coach will jog towards the front of the floor with their hand in the air and shout to the gymnasts to stop. The coach should keep their hand in the air till the music has stopped. Trampet and Tumble The coach should step off the landing area and raise their hand to the gymnasts running and shout stop, followed by an explanation to the gymnasts as to why the routine has been stopped and then inform the head judge of the reason for the stop. It is realised that if the stop is due to a serious injured gymnast or faulty equipment, this is a safer option than allowing them to continue. After the Routine has been stopped. The gymnasts should leave the hall and the coach should inform the Competition Floor Manager of the reason for the stop. This will be taken as their verbal notification of an appeal. They should then formally complete an appeal form and submit to the Superior Jury for consideration of a repeat performance. It should be noted that the judges would complete a score for the routine as presented, in case the reason for the stoppage is not valid. (For example, forgetting to put the extra mat in, would not be a valid reason for a stop). Head Judge stopping a Routine In exceptional circumstances, a Head Judge may need to stop a Tumble or Trampet routine (for dangerous situation), they will stand and raise the red flag and call to the coaches to stop the routine. If the situation is rectified, the team may continue from the point the routine was stopped. Work Plan Reykjavik 2014.docx Page 12 of 21

13 18. NUMBERING OF GYMNASTS All gymnasts must have their competitor s number on their dress. During these championships statistics about the gymnasts' performance will be collected and this will allow us to select the top gymnasts and nominate those gymnasts in the All Stars Team. Numbering will also help the media and audience to identify gymnasts and look up details of them like in other major sports, which helps develop our sport for TV. Gymnasts must have their own competitor number within the team. Every team may chosen numbers from 1 to 20. Teams can assign the numbers for each gymnast in any way they want (alphabetical order / draw of lots / just choosing). The number of every gymnast must be announced in the nominative entry form and at accreditation. Every team must bring their own numbers and apply them according to the following guidelines: All numbers inside the team must be same size and same font Fastening of the numbers must be secure and tight Placing the numbers: o When wearing long trousers/ leggings the numbers must be placed on both thighs, to the side, to the upper part of the thigh (see picture) o When wearing shorts the numbers must be placed on both sides, as low as possible o When wearing only a leotard (no trousers/shorts/leggings) the numbers must be placed on both sides, above the hipbone Numbers must be clear, from 8mm to 10mm thick and 8 cm high Numbers must differentiate clearly from the background (e.g. white numbers on black trousers) Numbers can be printed straight on to the trousers/shorts/leotard or on a separate piece of cloth (similar colour as the area where it will be fastened) which then must be sewn to the competition dress. Also stickers can be used but then coaches must be sure the numbers will not become loose during the competition Numbers will be used in all disciplines Work Plan Reykjavik 2014.docx Page 13 of 21

14 STATISTICS Every gymnast s performances on tumbling and trampet will be recorded. Statistics collected will be based on the number of elements/series that a gymnast performs, difficulty value of those elements and of course success in performing the elements. This information will be used by the media to analyse gymnasts and their performances. This information will also be made available for coaches. With this data it is possible to rank performers after the championships. 19. WARM-UP AND TRAINING All teams shall warm-up in the training hall, which is situated adjacent to the Competition Hall. Teams are not allowed to bring their own music player into the warm-up hall. There will be two floor areas in the warm up hall. One is allocated for general warm up. Teams are allocated one mat ONLY (14 m x 2 m) to do their general warm up. According to the training schedule (Appendix B) each team has one official training period in the Competition Hall. There is no training time in the Competition Hall, during the competition. For junior mixed competitions and junior men competitions, teams will warm-up on all apparatus before the first team will start the competition. For all other competitions, teams will warm-up on each apparatus before competing in that discipline. There will be 4 dressing rooms available in the Competition Hall and 4 dressing rooms in the training hall. All teams will share a dressing room with at least one other team. Teams will have to bring all belongings with them after their last performance so the room can be used for the next coming team in the following division. Team names will be marked at each dressing room door. Smoking is not allowed anywhere in the competition arena and surrounding premises. 20. ACCESS TO THE COMPETITION ARENA Access to the competition arena is permitted to teams and their registered coaches who should enter the Training hall no more than 10 minutes before their scheduled general warm up. After general warm up, teams have 10 minutes on the first apparatus. Teams will be informed when their orientation is over and they should move from the Training Area to the Competition Hall. They take all bags and valuables with them as well as their accreditation pass. In the passage to the Hall is a control desk where Gymnasts hand over their accreditation to an official to have them checked against the list of performing gymnasts (Form TGF03). Stand-in coaches also have to remove their accreditation pass. The IDs, bags and valuables will be placed in open baskets, which are passed to the coach when they leave the competition area. The Gymnasts proceed to the entrance to the Competition, where they will be advised when to enter the arena by the Floor Manager. On Tumbling and Trampet, coaches should enter the Hall 5 minutes early in order to check the apparatus is set to their requested status. There will be a place to sit and watch for coaches who are not standing-in. All coaches must leave the arena with their team immediately after their performance. 16 EQUIPMENT DIRECTIVES UPDATE The current Directives for Equipment are dated September There are a few of corrections. Art The width of the white line should be 5 cm and not 50 cm. Art The wording is correct but the diagram should show the height to the center of the vault and not the high point. Appx A3 The thickness of the landing mat on the right of the diagram, should be 35 cm +/- 2 cm. Layout of Trampets The following diagram updates the details in the Equipment Directives to include for specific details for these Championships. For safety and stability, it includes a felted non-slip timber plate (As used in Malmö) beneath the trampets and the vault, which is the same thickness as the run-up mat. The run-up mat will be fixed in position and taped to this plate with no gap. Please note that the trampet and the vault will therefore be raised 25 mm above the floor. After the teams have performed their last routine in the finals they are requested to sit in the assigned seating area (kiss and cry). The OC will direct the teams to their places. An Award Ceremony will be after each section where the medallists will march into the competition arena in their competition outfit. The Closing Ceremony will follow the senior men s award ceremony. 26. ALL STARS TEAM After the competition days, the European TeamGym ALL STARS TEAM will be nominated to show the best TeamGym gymnasts in Europe. The Team will consist of the six best female and the six best male gymnasts. The number of successfully performed tumbling and trampet rounds, plus the difficulty values of those rounds, will be used to identify these gymnasts. The All Stars Team will be announced at the Joint Banquet. Also the two (one female and one male) best tumblers, the two best trampet performers, and the two best floor performers will be nominated. These tumbling and trampet gymnasts will be the ones, who have successfully performed a single round with highest difficulty value. The Floor performers will be selected from the teams who score the highest execution score on floor. The Floor HJs will form a panel to make the selection of the individual gymnasts on floor. 27. CLOSING BANQUET A joint closing banquet will take place in Laugardalshöll-arena, Saturday 18 th of October at 19:30, for both juniors and seniors. Location: Laugardalshöll House opening: 19:30 Door closing: 20:00 Dinner - three course dinner served at 20:00 Dress code: smart casual Junior disco 22:00-01:00 Senior disco 22:00-01:00 After the announcement of the All-stars team, the junior teams with their coaches will go to their disco in another salon next door. By having different disco for different ages we offer every gymnast the opportunity to have good time with friends of the same age. Work Plan Reykjavik 2014.docx Page 17 of 21

18 All gymnasts and coaches must attend the disco for which they have been entered Junior or Senior and it is the HoDs liability to make sure they do so. All participants need to present their accreditation ID-card at the entry of the banquets. There will be a professional security company present to assist the organizers and to take care of the overall security and access control. Should any behavioural problems occur the HoD will be called to remove the responsible individuals. It is not allowed to bring alcohol into the banquet. At the banquet, individuals can purchase alcohol for themselves and only for themselves and will be subject to ID check. Please note: In Iceland it is prohibited to sell or supply alcohol (beer included) to individuals younger than 20 years old. Whenever there is reason to believe that the buyer has not reached this age, the person concerned will be asked a proof of age by showing a photo ID. Head of delegations are asked to make this clear to all participants prior to arrival to Iceland. The HoDs will be held responsible for enforcement of this for their teams. 28. VIDEO / PHOTOGRAPH / MOBILE PHONES It is not permitted to make videos from this competition without prior written authorization from the UEG and the proper accreditation as media/photographer. During the entire competition, the gymnasts, judges and coaches are absolutely prohibited from using mobile phones and other electronic communication devices, in the competition area. The LOC will have DVD of the competitions for sale after the event. Please hand in the order form at the accreditation desk. Please note only official photographers will be allowed in the field of play. 29. SPEAKER / LIVE INTERVIEWS / MEDIA To ensure the best coverage and publicity of the championships and TeamGym in general we invite all delegates to participate in co-operation with the media. On all competition days there will be occasions where the speaker will ask for a quick live interview right after the performance. All coaches and gymnasts are asked to be helpful to secure the best presentation for our sport. The media will also be live at the event, broadcasting and taking interviews which we are sure that all nations are willing to participate in and will take the opportunity beforehand to prepare their gymnast and coaches for such an occurrence. All interviews will be taken in the mixed zone. REPORT FOR MEDIA Every gymnast s performances on tumbling and trampet will be recorded. Statistics will be based on number of elements/series that gymnast performs, difficulty value of those elements and success in performing the elements. The media will use this information to analyse gymnasts and their performances. This info is also available for coaches. With this data it is possible to rank performers after the championships. 30. FREE ADMITTANCE TO SWIMMING POOL All participants should remember to bring their swimsuits. Reykjavik is famous for its natural year round hot springs. Regardless of what time of year you are visiting, the hot springs are an absolute must and it is free if you have ordered the LOC accommodation package. Work Plan Reykjavik 2014.docx Page 18 of 21
