2 Ms. Kyser has prize jars in her classroom. One prize jar has 102 pencils in it, another has 347 erasers and the third has 256 bookmarks. How many prizes does Ms. Kyser have in her prize jars?

3 D narius and Na layiah were carving pumpkins and decided to count the number of pumpkin seeds inside their pumpkins. D narius had 111 and Na layiah s had 64 seeds, How many more seeds did D narius count than Na layiah?

4 Shelby decided to count the number of red shirts she found in three stores at the mall. At Dillard s she counted 135 red shirts, 195 at Macy s and 117 at Sears. What was the sum of all the red shirts that Shelby counted at the stores throughout the day?

5 Ben, Emily and Meredith were playing basketball. Ben scored 62 points, Emily scored 73 points, and Meredith scored 109 points. How many points did the two girls score together?

6 Mrs. Joy s class went to an apple orchard to pick apples. Brandon picked 82, Hannah picked 97 and Mark picked 79 apples. Hoe many apples did Brandon and Mark pick?

7 Amanda made cupcakes for her classmates. She made a total of 50 cupcakes. 37 of the cupcakes were eaten. How many cupcakes are left over?

8 Aiden made a total of 272 cookies for two different grade levels at school. She gave 143 cookies to the third graders and the rest to the fourth graders. How many cookies did Aiden give to the fourth graders?

9 Jeff is making a long car trip to his friend s house in Florida. So far, he has driven 983 miles. He still has another 427 miles to go until he arrives. When he gets there, how many miles will he have driven during the car trip?

10 Steve decided to count the number of red and blue cars that passed by his window over a period of one day. There were 191 red cars and 173 blue cars. There were also 93 blue trucks. How many more red cars passed by than blue cars?

11 Anna, Reece, and Shawn were heading to the movie theater to see a new movie. Together they had 43 dollars. When they got there, Shawn found 19 more dollars in his pocket. How much money do they have now to spend on tickets, drinks, and snacks while they are there?

12 Erin and Jenna went to see a movie. When they went to find a seat, they noticed that there were 67 seats taken and still 59 seats available. How many seats are there in the theater?

13 Robert had 357 baseball cards. He sold 286 of them to different friends. How many baseball cards does he have left after giving some of them away?

14 The aquarium decided to determine how many of their fish were purple. There was a total of 903 fish. Of those, 264 were purple. How many fish at the aquarium were NOT purple?

15 Marcus is having to read a book for one of his classes. So far, he has read 241 pages. He still has another 193 pages left to read. How many pages long is the book?

16 Maggie and Holly were participating in a jump rope competition. Maggie jumped 468 times before missing and Holly jumped 389 times before missing. How many jumps did the girls have combined?

17 Dr. Sanderson kept stickers in his doctor s office to hand out to kids who got shots. He needed to restock his stickers, so he went shopping. He bought 93 dinosaur stickers, 82 star stickers, 42 smiley face stickers and 57 football stickers. How many stickers did he buy for his office?

18 Mr. Popper own s a balloon factory. He aired up 704 balloons for the balloon festival. On accident, 215 balloons blew away. How many of Mr. Popper s balloons did NOT blow away?

19 Bobby has 1,297 football cards. Sammy has 1,488. How many more cards does Sammy have than Bobby?

20 Michael, Xavier, and Ladarius were playing video games. Michael scored 1,832 points, Xavier scored 1,897 points, and Ladarius scored 2,204 points. How many points did the boys score while playing?

21 Martha and Devin were playing Monopoly. Martha had $1,792. She had to pay Devin $535 because she landed on one of his properties. How much money did Martha have left after paying Devin?

22 Nick was having friends over for a moviewatching party. He had big bowls of snacks to share with everyone. One bowl had 546 Starbursts in it. He and his friends ate 285 of them. How many Starbursts were left in the bowl?

23 Justine and Heaven each had a bowl of Skittles. Justine had 97 in her bowl and Heaven had 128 in hers. How many more Skittles were in Heaven s bowl than in Justine s bowl?

24 The Bookworm Book Store is buying new furniture for their store. They need to buy 83 new shelves, 34 comfy chairs, and 15 coffee tables. How many pieces of furniture do they need to buy for the store?

25 Adam and Justin were playing a video game. Justin scored 782 points. Adam scored 391 points less than Justin. What was Adam s score?

26 Three friends were looking through the songs on their ipods. Katrina had 2,435 songs, Beth had 3,114 songs, and Amanda had 2,973 songs. How many songs would the three girls have if they combined all of their music?

27 Mrs. Sikes decided to surprise Mr. Sikes by buying him new electronics for his birthday. She bought him a new bigscreen television for $7,938 and a new sound system for $1,495. How much money did Mrs. Sikes spend on the presents for her husband?

28 Farmer Can was gathering eggs from his chickens. He found 19 eggs in the first hen house, 26 eggs in the second hen house and 53 eggs in the third hen house. How many eggs did Farmer Dan collect from his chickens?

29 Mary has a total of 482 marbles. She has 297 of the marbles in her pockets. The rest of the marbles are in a box on a shelf in her room. How many marbles are in the box in her room?

30 Lezlie, Amber, and Michelle were having a reading contest to see who could read more pages of their books in one day. Lezlie read 345 pages. Amber read 298 pages. Michelle read 516 pages. How many more pages did Lezlie read than Amber?

31 Joshua and Max wanted to count the number of students in school who like the Texas Rangers baseball team. There are 560 students who do like the Rangers. If there are 706 students in the whole school, how many students do NOT like the Rangers?

32 Anthony sells cars at CarMax. He sold 331 cars in October, 567 cars in November, 403 cars in December and 298 cars in January. How many fewer cars were sold in January than in November?

33 Anasti has a butterfly sticker collection. Right now, she has 498 butterfly stickers in her collection. Her mom is going to buy her 164 more stickers on Friday if she has good behavior all week long. How many stickers will Anasti have in her collection then?

34 Manuel loaded 243 boxes on the moving van. 147 of the boxes contained items that were fragile and the rest were not fragile. How many boxes contained nonfragile items?

35 There were 135 third graders from Darting Elementary School going on a field trip. There were also 128 fourth graders and 243 fifth graders going on the same field trip. How many students are going on the field trip?

36 The school office needed to make copies of a flier to be sent home about the school carnival. They need to make 314 copies on bright blue paper, 365 copies on pink paper and 412 copies on lime green paper. How many copies do they need to make total?

37 County Hill Elementary School was fundraising to collect money for their school carnival. They sold popcorn and collected $653. They need to make $3,000 for the carnival. They are planning a big bake sale for this weekend. How much money do they need to make at the bake sale to reach their goal?

38 Ken has 462 pages in his math book, 563 pages in his reading book, and 627 pages in his science book. How many more pages does his science book have than his reading book?

39 Mrs. Smith, the librarian, organized the books in the school library. There were 8,892 fiction books, 3,716 non-fiction books, and 1,362 biographies. How many books are in the school library?

40 Anthony and Emily were in a spelling bee. Anthony spelled 49 words correctly before being eliminated. Emily spelled 56 words correctly before being eliminated. How many words did the two students spell correctly during the spelling bee?

41 The school library has 967 books. The librarian buys 435 more books and the PTA donates another 392 books. How many books does the library have now?

42 Brain, Ruth and William had a math contest to see how many math problems they could answer correctly in one minute. Brian answered 19, William answered 23, and Ruth answered 27. How many math problems did all three students answer?

43 Yesterday it was 63 degrees outside. It is 92 degrees outside today. How much hotter is it today than yesterday?

44 Brandon decided to count the number of red cars that passed by his window for three days throughout the week. Monday there were 216, Tuesday there were 134, and Wednesday there were 306. How many total cars passed by on Monday and Wednesday?

45 Kylie and Jamie were playing video games. Kylie scored 563 points and Jamie scored 674 points. How many points did Kylie and Jamie score?

46 There is a big pond with many frogs in it. 82 frogs jumped out of the pond. There were originally 126 frogs in the pond. How many frogs are still jumping around in the pond?

47 Mrs. Marino and Mrs. Romero s classes had a competition to see which class could earn the most marbles for the whole six weeks. Mrs. Marino s class earned 178 marbles and Mrs. Romero s class earned 143 marbles. How many marbles did the two classes earn all together?

48 Jessica baked 87 cookies to donate to the nursing home, 36 cookies for her aunt, and 21 cookies to keep for herself. How many cookies did Jessica bake?

49 Danny and Sara found 73 seashells on the beach. They also found 46 starfish and 39 sand dollars. How many more shells than sand dollars did they find?

50 Teresa drove 456 miles during March and 217 miles during April. How many fewer miles did she drive in April than she did in March?

51 Corynne traveled 145 miles to Jackson, and then she traveled to Vicksburg. She traveled 213 miles in all. What was the distance than Corynne traveled from Jackson to Vicksburg?

52 Mrs. Tenorio needs to make 135 rolls and 124 cookies for the cafeteria to serve at lunch today. If Mrs. Tenorio has already made 76 rolls and 103 cookies, how many rolls does she still need to make?

53 Rusty went to the candy store with his dad. His dad bought him a package of M&Ms and a package of Skittles. Rusty counted to find that there were 78 M&Ms and 94 Skittles. How many M&Ms and Skittles did Rusty have?

54 The local aquarium was counting the numbers of different kinds of fish in their tanks. They counted 45 goldfish and 33 angel fish. How many more goldfish were there than angel fish?

55 Jessica baked 92 cookies. She took 45 cookies to the nursing home. She took 32 cookies to her grand mother. How many cookies did she keep for herself?

56 Mark and Zachary each scored 13 points during a game of basketball, Jeremiah scored 6, Israel scored 4, and Justin scored 7. How many total points did the boys score throughout their game of basketball?

57 Eric counted 257 stars on Wednesday night, 312 stars in Thursday night, 309 stars on Friday night, and 286 stars on Saturday night. How many more stars did Eric count on Thursday night than on Saturday night?

58 College Hills Elementary was having a canned food donation collection. First grade brought 542 cans, second grade brought 346 cans, third grade bought 287 cans, and fourth grade bought 417 cans. How many cans did 1 st, 2 nd, 3 rd, and 4 th grade collect to be donated?

59 Miranda s suitcase weighs 46 kilograms. Natalie s suitcase weighs 28 kilograms. How many more kilograms does Miranda s suitcase weigh than Natalie s?

60 Patrick sold 121 tickets to the school soccer game. Jose sold 86 tickets to the same game. How many less tickets did Jose sell than Patrick?

61 Rhett has 1,209 baseball cards. Jackson had 987. Sammy has 2,310 basketball cards. How many baseball cards do they have altogether?

62 Taylor and Amanda were carving pumpkins and wanted to count the number of pumpkin seeds inside their pumpkins. Taylor s had 209 and Amanda s had 97 seeds. How many seeds were in the two pumpkins?

63 Deontay wants to buy a television that costs $1,097 and an x-box that costs $395. He has already saved $571 so far. How much more money does Deontay need to save in order to buy the television?

64 Daniel sells hotdogs at the baseball park. He sold 1,252 hotdogs during the first inning and 983 hotdogs during the second inning. If Daniel had 3,100 hotdogs to sell, how many hotdogs did he still have left to sell?

65 At the Dallas Zoo there were 516 monkeys, 124 lions, 198 bears, and 86 snakes. How many monkeys, snakes, and bears live at the zoo right now?

66 Frank paid $12,062 total for season tickets to the Dallas Cowboys and the Texas Rangers. He paid $7,653 for the Rangers season tickets. How much did he pay for the Cowboys season tickets?

67 Wetzels Pretzels sold 662 pretzels with salt and 498 pretzels without salt on a really busy Saturday. How many pretzels were sold on this particular Saturday?

68 Each box of 1,000 paper clips has 456 blue paper clips and 329 red paper clips. The rest of the paper clips are yellow. How many yellow paper clips are in each box?

69 The aquarium decided to determine how many of their fish were orange. There were 264 orange fish and 903 fish that were not orange. How many fish does the aquarium have?

70 Bradfield Elementary had 6,700 tickets to sell for the carnival. They sold 3,079 tickets for pretzels. They also sold some tickets for ice cream. Bradfield Elementary had 1,208 tickets left. How many tickets for ice cream were sold?

71 Terry, Sam and Kara are on vacation. They traveled all day and counted cars to pass the time. Terry counted 963 cars. Sam counted 672 cars. Kara counted 736 cars. How many more cars did Terry count than Sam?

72 Genie has a button collection she has been working on for many years. In her collection, she has 456 red buttons, 139 sparkly buttons, 183 polka-dotted buttons, 315 blue buttons, 244 green buttons, and 576 yellow buttons. How many red, blue, green and yellow buttons are in Genie s button collection?

73 Callie had a score of 983 on the video game she was playing. Gina had a score of 727 on the same video game. How many more points did Callie score than Gina?

74 The movie theater had 465 packages of M&Ms and 143 bags of popcorn to sell at the beginning of the movie, Happy Feet. There were only 68 packages of M&Ms and 54 bags of popcorn left at the end of the movie. How many packages of M&Ms were sold during the movie?

75 Tanner read 46 pages of his favorite book on Monday. On Tuesday he read 32 more. On Wednesday he read the last 26 pages. How many pages long was the book?

76 Mr. Brown s class is given an assignment to measure the height of each person in their group and find the sum of their heights in inches. Bobby is 52 inches tall, Matt is 63 inches tall, Rebecca is 49 inches tall, and Dana is 58 inches tall. What is the sum of their heights?

77 The girls in Girl Scout Troop #2516 are selling Girl Scout cookies. Beth sells 817 boxes, Morgan sells 796 boxes and Caitlin sells 845 boxes. How many Girl Scout cookies did the girls sell?

78 Jamie has 1,117 songs on her ipod. She has 832 country songs. The rest are pop songs. How many fewer pop songs does Jamie have than country songs?

79 Mark and Dashon decided to set up a lemonade stand to earn some money. On the first day, they earn $57. At the end of the second day, they earn another $64. How much did the two boys earn during those first two days?

80 Alex paid $672 for his phone, internet, and cable bills this month. If the cable bills was $198 and the phone bill was $254, how much did he pay for the internet bill alone?

81 Vanessa, Gina, and Lisa wanted to make bracelets for their friends. They made 71 bracelets. Vanessa gave 14 away and Lisa gave 17 away. Gina also gave her friends 13 necklaces. How many bracelets do the girls have left to give away?

82 Michelle entered a contest at the fair for a huge jar of bubble gum and won it. She took it home and counted the flavors. The jar had 172 pieces of grape gum, 165 piece of cherry gum, and 238 pieces of bubble-gum flavored gum. How many pieces of gum did Michelle win?

83 Sam sold 2,428 more raffle tickets than Doug. If Sam sold 5,482 raffle tickets, how many raffle tickets did Doug sell?

84 The cafeteria had 837 cheese burgers on Thursday before school began to serve during lunch. At the end of the school day, there were 94 cheese burgers left over. How many cheese burgers were served throughout the day?

85 Mrs. Cruz had 158 special prize pencils at the beginning of the school year. By March she had given away 98 pencils. How many prize pencils does Mrs. Cruz have now?

86 Beaver Elementary was fundraising to collect money for the school carnival at the end of the year. At the car wash they collected $465. They then collected another $982 by selling candy bars. How much money have they raised for the school carnival so far?

87 In my bug collection, I have 77 butterflies, 36 ladybugs, and 103 ants. How many bugs are there total in my awesome bug collection?

88 The school nurse saw 415 students in the month of October. Of those students, 269 of them were simply because they had lost a tooth. How many students had the visit the nurse during October for some reason other than losing a tooth?

89 Rhett has $802 in his bank account. He needs to pay his electric bill for the month. If the electric bill costs $394, how much money will still be in his bank account after paying the electric bill?

90 Mrs. Marino got a big bag of Skittles to use as rewards in her class. The bag contained 71 orange Skittles, 68 yellow Skittles, 57 green Skittles, 46 purple Skittles, and 62 red Skittles. How many Skittles were in the bag?

91 Kelly and Carly were walking to school together. They were comparing the number of stickers they each had on their folders. Kelly had 57 stickers and Carly had 71 stickers. How many stickers were on the folders?

92 Third grade students bought 210 tickets for the school play. Fourth grade students bought 305 tickets. How many more tickets did fourth grade buy than third grade?

93 The circus had 902 guests on Tuesday, 1,003 guests on Wednesday, and 1,379 guests on Thursday. How many more people attended the circus on Wednesday than on Tuesday?

94 Ice Cream, You Scream, the ice cream shop was having a special event to give out free scoops of ice cream for the day. They gave away 297 scoops of chocolate ice cream, 148 scoops of strawberry ice cream, 309 scoops of vanilla ice cream, and 132 scoops of rocky road ice cream. How many scoops of these four flavors did the ice cream shop given away throughout the day?

95 Mrs. Thompson decided to count the clothes hanging in her closet one Saturday. She counted that she owned 64 shirts, 32 pairs of pants, 19 skirts and 35 dresses. How many pants, skirts and dresses does Mrs. Thompson own?

96 Mrs. Marx had tons of papers to file. Nathan filed 14, Brandon filed 22, Lacy filed 11, Summer filed 54, and Rachel filed 28. How many papers did the students file in order to help Mrs. Marx get caught up with her paper filing?

97 Jonathon saw 126 shirts at WalMart. 42 of the shirts were solid colors and 35 of the shirts were multi-colored. The rest of the shirts were striped. How many shirts were striped?

98 The Wimberly family decided to take a road trip. They traveled 598 miles on Friday, 714 miles on Saturday and 684 miles on Sunday. How many miles did the family travel during their road trip?

99 There were 485 popsicles in the freezer in the school cafeteria. The students bought 193 of them on Friday. How many popsicles are still in the freezer?

100 Mr. Popper owns a balloon factory. He aired up 704 plain-colored balloons for parties and 293 decorated balloons for parties. How many balloons did Mr. Popper air up throughout the day?

101 Jenna and Nicole decided to bake cookies for their school bake sale. Jenna made 138 cookies and Nicole made 247 cookies. How many cookies did they bake in all?
