A con man, traveling under the auspices of a salesman, he eventually falls in love with Marian Paroo. Charismatic and charming. (Vocal Range: Ab2 to F4) Marian Paroo (Offer pending, may be seeking understudy) The stuffy town librarian and music teacher. She is an attractive young lady who eventually falls for Harold Hill. Stuck up. Curious. (Vocal Range: G3 to A5) Marcellus Washburn (Offer pending, may be seeking understudy) Harold's chummy old friend and former con man, he now lives in River City and is trying to settle down. (Vocal range: G2 to A4) Charlie Cowell A traveling salesman who is on to Harold Hill's schemes. He tirelessly attempts to prove to everyone the true con man that he thinks is Harold Hill. Mayor Shinn A blustery politician who is all too "self-important." Begrudgingly married to Eulalie, he is skeptical of the town rumor mill. (Age: 50 to 60) Ewart Dunlop A member of the school board quartet, formed by Harold Hill with a tenor voice. Ewart is married to Maude Dunlop. (Age: 25 to 45; Vocal range: F3 to F5)

2 Oliver Hix A baritone in the school board quartet formed by Hill. Oliver is married to Alma Hix. (Age: 25 to 45; Vocal range: B2 to F4) Jacey Squires The highest tenor in the school board quartet. Married to Mrs. Squires. (Age: 25 to 45; Vocal range: C3 to C5) Olin Britt The bass of the school board quartet formed by Harold Hill. (Age: 25 to 45; Vocal range: F2 to C4) Tommy Djilas An attractive, young man from the wrong side of town. He is secretly courting Zaneeta. Must be terrific dancer. (Age: to play 15 to 20) Mrs. Paroo Cheerful and always plotting. An Irish widow and mother to Marian and Winthrop. (Age: 45 to 60; Vocal range: Ab3 to Eb5) Amaryllis A slightly bratty piano student of Marian Paroo. (Age: 8 to 12; Vocal range: C4 to E5) Winthrop Paroo Marian's baby brother, he is very shy because of a noticeable lisp. Embraces Harold Hill and the marching band. (Age: 8 to 12; Vocal range: C4 to Eb5) Eulalie Mackecknie Shinn Mayor Shinn's peacock wife. A serial gossiper and snob, she has trouble keeping her opinions to herself. (Age: 40 to 50; Vocal range top: D4 to D5) Zaneeta Shinn The Mayor's fresh-faced daughter who is in love with Tommy. Sweet and outgoing. Appears to be daffy at times. Must be a terrific dancer. (Age: to play 14 to 18) Alma Hix A "Pick-a-Little Lady" married to Oliver Hix. Maud Dunlop A "Pick-a-Little Lady" married to Ewart Dunlop. Ethel Toffelmier A comical "Pick-a-Little Lady," and Marcellus Washburn's girlfriend. (Age: 25 to 40) Mrs. Squires A "Pick-a-Little Lady" married to Jacey Squires.

High School & Youth Apprentices Seeking Youth & High School Students (must be age 7, by June 1, 2018) to play the Children & Teens of River City. Should sing, act and move well. The role of Gracie Shinn will be cast from the Youth Apprentices, as well as understudies for Winthrop and Amaryllis. At times both hardnosed and stern, as well as empathetic and kind. Formerly in a relationship with Cassie. Must move well. Cassie Ferguson (Offer pending, may be seeking understudy) Experienced and usually featured Broadway veteran who recently returned from Los Angeles, after a failed attempt to enter the world of film and television. Formerly in a relationship with Zach. Stellar dancer, singer and actor. (Mezzo-Soprano with strong belt.) Sheila Bryant (Offer pending, may be seeking understudy) Brassy and sex y Broadway veteran. Quite experienced as a performer, yet often annoyed by new-comers who may show her up technically. Humorous, but she can deliver a jab with sophistication and sarcasm, all at the same time. (Alto/Mezzo) Don Kerr All-American guy s guy from Kansas City. Married, with two children, he works in the industry to support his family. (Should read 28 years old; Baritone) Maggie Winslow Sweet, smart and vulnerable; great dancer with a difficult childhood. From California. (Should read 25 years old; Mezzo-Soprano with terrific high belt to E5)

4 Mike Costa Likeable, athletic and funny Italian-American. Started dancing because his sister did. From Jersey (Should read 24 years old; Tenor; Great tap dancing a plus.) Connie Wong Excellent dancer, funny and confident. Born in Chinatown Lower East Side. Must believably read 4 10 tall. (Age 32, but you can t tell; Mezzo-Soprano with strong belt.) Gregory Gardner Sassy, Jewish, gay model and dancer. Very East Side and he does not deny it. (Should read 32 years old; Baritone) Bobby Mills Quirky, funny, confident as well as a superb dancer. Had a rough childhood blocked most of it out, explains the rest with self-deprecating comedy. From upstate New York. (Should read 25 years old; Baritone) Bebe Benzenheimer Somewhat awkward newcomer but quite talented. Her mother told her that she was not pretty at a young age, and she still tries to hide her insecurities with humor. From Boston (Should read 22 years old; Mezzo with a strong belt.) Judy Turner Somewhat frazzled and fidgety, Judy has her most poised moments only while dancing. From El Paso, Texas. (Should read 26 years old; Soprano with terrific high-belt). Richie Walters Confident and athletic dancer from Herculaneum, Missouri. African-American. (Should read mid-twenties; fabulous high-tenor voice.) Alan DeLuca Tough, streetwise and from the Bronx. Newly married to Kristine, with whom he is both tender and protective. (Should read 30 years old; Beautiful tenor voice to counter Kristine who can t sing.) Kristine Urich (DeLuca) Newlywed to Al DeLuca. Quite nervous and a little scatter-brained, she speaks the comedic Sing despairing her lack of vocal abilty. From St. Louis. (Should read 23 years old; despite her Sing feature, must really be able to sing in the ensemble of the show.) Valerie Clark Foul-mouthed, but confident and sexy, fantastic dancer. She tells the story of how she couldn t book any work until her transformative plastic surgery. Brassy, and not afraid to step on others toes to get what she wants. From Vermont. (Should read 25; Mezzo-Soprano with terrific belt.) Mark Anthony Brand new to New York and to the industry. Extremely talented dancer, but naïve and inexperienced. From Tempe, Arizona. (Should read 18 years old; Tenor) Paul San Marco Shy and introverted, but beautiful dancer. Only recently comfortable with his homosexuality and still dealing with how it has affected his family and thus his self-esteem, he delivers a vulnerable monologue about coming out to his parents. From Spanish Harlem. (Should read 27 years old; Strong Tenor)

5 Diana Morales Smart, confident, street-wise, experienced dancer. Latina, from the Bronx. Driven and determined, she tends to look on the bright side, and possesses a strong voice of reason for the group. (Should read 27; Mezzo-Soprano with superb belt.) Larry Zach s Assistant. A superb dancer who demonstrates all the combinations. His technical abilty and style are the benchmark for the cast. (Should read 25+). Ensemble Strong dancer-singer-actors who will dance in the Opening Sequence, pit-sing the remainder of the show, and understudy the dancers on the line. Cast from the Ensemble will be Tricia ( I really need this job ), Vicki, Lois (the ballerina), Frank ( boy in the headband ), Tom, Butch and Wrong-Arms Roy. Apprentices We may add some High School Apprentices to the Opening Sequence, with limited rehearsals. Performers of all ethnic and racial backgrounds are encouraged to attend our auditions.
