My favorite time of the year! Our kid's party is October 24th and the Adult's is October 31st. See you there, I'll be looking for you in the basement spook house. We still have tickets for the Packer bus trip to Green Bay on October 18th. This would be a great game to go to see Kenosha's own Melvin Gordon playing for the Chargers. We all love Melvin, but go pack go! It's time to start thinking about going to the tree lighting at Mooseheart on December 5th. We will be looking to run a bus but may be hooking up with Racine or Muskego for the bus. Either way we will be getting all who want to go a ride down there. Put it on your calendars now. Signup sheet to be posted very soon. This past conference was a great success for the lodge. We were top lodge in giving to Special Olympics in the state, and tops in total giving to Moose "Heart of the Community" as well. Congratulations to all who contributed to our endowment funds to make this happen. Remember all this money goes to support our kids at Mooseheart and our seniors at Moosehaven. It's a great honor but the real winners are our kids and seniors. Thanks again. The Kenosha Dream playground is no longer a dream. At the build over 300 moose members showed up to help out. Hats off to all who went down to work, even if it was just to carry water to the workers, it all helped out in the end. Let's all try to be there for the grand opening on October 10th. WOTM member Tammy Conforti's dream is a reality. Her and co-chair LOOM member Scott Gordon have worked hard for the past 3 years to make this come true. Moose members make things happen! Congratulations to all! Don't forget as well to be checking out all you moose benefits at mooseintl.org and wismoose.org. The benefits and incentives change all the time for signing up new and former members into the moose. The lodge has an incentive for you as well, sign up three new or former members and get a year's dues free. One way to never pay dues again, just keep signing up members. 2 2 NEWS FROM YOUR GOVERNOR Here it's the beginning of October and as much as I hate to say it winter is just around the corner. But who want's to see winter? From what I hear the WOTM had a good time at their color run and made a few pennies for the hospital which is great! We have had 3 Packer parties and everyone had a good time. Let's keep supporting our team and our lodge. Come to the Packer parties and you can have a lot of fun. Let's not forget the children's Halloween party on October 24th and the adult party on October 31st. The kids and adults have a great time. We will be having a bus going down to Mooseheart for the tree lighting on December 5th. If you have never seen the tree lighting it is beautiful. 3 SPORTS The Monday night couples pool league is wrapping up its summer league. Results next month. This is an in- house league. Ron and Darla Kramer chair. The winter session will start with a meeting Monday November 2nd at 6:30 pm. Attend the meeting or call Ron@ Highlights so far include 8-ball breaks for Ernie Dahl on July 28 and Justin Keller on Aug. 10. Either Join the pool competition or stop-in for Monday Night Football, the Baseball playoffs and World Series on our projection and regular TV's. Mary's kitchen is open for her Pub menu Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday at 4:30 pm. There will be a meeting for the Monday and Wednesday AM pool leagues, Wednesday Oct 14th at noon. Andy Burger chairs. Play starts November 2nd at 9:30 am. Light lunch will be served. The Wednesday night horseshoe league wrapped-up play. The team of Matt Clifford and Scott Gabron won the title. Big thanks to Jerry Simonsen and John Kaiser who chaired the league and the members who helped add pits and maintain them. Our Wednesday night Moose men's softball team lost out in the first round of the playoffs. The Friday night Coeds team didn't qualify for the playoffs, but all had a fun time. Thanks to managers Curt Plaisted and Kevin Schneider. The golf season is nearing the end. On September 23rd the Wednesday first half and second half had a match to determine the overall winner. Tim Brown and Ted Becker won the first half and Bill Walker and Betty Sternbach won the second half. Bill and Betty kept their momentum up and won the Wednesday championship. They will be taking on the Monday winners this month to determine the overall golf champions for this year. Packer Party chairman, Joe Matteucci, informs that there will be drink specials, food and football for every Packer game. Call Scott to get in on the Packer bus trips, October 18th in Green Bay to see San Diego and to Detroit vs the Lions, indoors on December 2nd. International Bowling will be in Janesville Lodge # 197 on April 9-May 15, State bowling will be in Marinette starting March 6th. State pool cues up October 17th in Eau Claire and State dartball is January 9th in Racine. Either enter on-line or get an entry blank on our bulletin board as they become available. Our Mooseheart School teams compete in football, run Cross Country, play volley ball and other sports. You can watch the teams. Tune in Mooseheart High School Cube on your computer or other device. You'll find a schedule of what's on. Notes: Get your children signed-up for the Halloween party on October 24th. The Adults get their turn on the 31st. Very scary. Legion# 31 Rifle Raffle in ongoing. The Kenosha Dream Playground project is complete. From start to finish our Lodge has been involved, either with fund raising or volunteer effort in the construction. We had lots of events going on at our very own lodge and more planned for the upcoming year. Be sure you are on the Moose list to receive all announcements via . Queen of Hearts. Due to a change in the gaming commission s rules, we can no longer run the Queen as we have in the past. The money collected so far WILL BE distributed in the very near future. We are exploring several different options for a lawful way to run this raffle. Please watch your Lodge s and future newsletters for details. MOOSE RIDER POKER RUN Saturday October 10th Rain or Shine. All proceeds go to the Southeast WI Wounded Warriors. This event is open to the public so bring friends. All types of vehicles are welcome. Sign-in from 10:30 to noon. Be back at the Pavilion by 5pm for the after party and prizes. Cost is $10.00 Moose Rider 10 year Anniversary Celebration is being held on Nov 14th starting at 7pm. All lodge members are invited to join us. We will be having music, some snacks and possibly an exciting new drawing! Donations The Moose Riders recently made contributions to the following: Cruisin for the Heart where all proceeds for the event go to Moose heart, a donation towards the purchase of lamps for Moosehaven, and we are also funding the replacement of the garage door in the pavilion. 4 4 UP-COMING EVENTS Pilgrim Celebration Kenosha Lodge is honored to have one of its own elevated to the Pilgrim degree of Merit. On May 30th Richard Smart received his degree in the House of God at Mooseheart, Ill. Kenosha Lodge will honor Rich and present him with his gold blazer on October 4th. Registration will begin at 12:00 pm. with the special ceremony at 1:00 pm. Dinner to follow. Reservations for dinner should be made by September 15th, 2015 either by signing up at the Lodge bulletin board or calling (262) We are pleased to announce that he Kenosha Moose Lodge will be hosting a Moose Youth Awareness Congress on Saturday Nov 14th beginning at 10am. This is the first step for High School Students to compete for over $30, in collage scholarships. This Congress is open to all high school students. By attending the Congress, students will be given all the tools need to work on there Kids Talks which they will have to make to three different groups of 4 to 9 year olds. The deadline for submission of Kids Talks is March 1st The event will run from 10am till approx 1pm and Lunch will be served. The top 2 highest scoring reports turned in will advance to the International Youth Awareness Congress in Williamsburg Virginia in April. There will be no cost incurred to the winners to go to Virginia. There is also a second Congress planned in Marinette in late October. Those dates will be posted soon. Don't miss out on your chance to compete and win. The cost of the trip is only $ Per Person and Includes a game ticket, coach bus, light breakfast at the Kenosha Lodge and Lunch at the Green Bay Lodge. Full Payment due at sign up. Payment can be made with the on duty Bartender. We also have a few spots left on our overnight Packer Trip to Detroit on Dec 3rd and 4th. Tickets are $ per person and includes Game ticket, coach bus, beer and soda on bus en route to Detroit, hotel room and a stop at the Fire Keepers Casino in Battle Creek Mi on return. Bus Trip to Mooseheart Tree Lighting Saturday, December 5 th 2015 Bus arives at 9:30 AM, leaves at 9:45 AM for the bus trip to Mooseheart. $25.00 per person due at time of sign-up Cost includes: Bus Trip, Refreshments and Sub Sandwiches on bus, Bus will return to Lodge by 9:00 PM Plus you get to eat lunch with the 2016, Senior Class at Mooseheart.

5 Hello Ladies, NEWS FROM YOUR SENIOR REGENT 5 I would like to say Thank You to all the ladies who came to our 1st and 3rd meetings. I would really like to see more of our ladies showing up to our 1st and 3rd Tuesday meetings of each month. If there is something you can think of to have more of the ladies come to our meetings, please call me at (262) Don't forget the kid's Halloween party is October 24th, 2015 from noon till 2 pm. The adult party will be October 31st, 2015 from 7 pm. till midnight. Hope to see everyone there. We also need people to help at the kid's party to run games and we need raffle baskets. We had the color run and had so much fun. It was great to see so many people there. The kid's had a real good time and it was a lot of fun throwing colors on everyone.
