3 W elcom e to #Raid er-th ON! Thank you for considering participating in the first ever SV SHS Raider-THON! Your generous donation of time and monies will be greatly appreciated by thousands of kids that involved in the Miracle League program across Southwestern Pennsylvania, including Cranberry Township! #Raider-THON will be held from Saturday, April 18, 2015 at 8:00 PM and will conclude on Sunday, April 19, 2015 at 8:00 AM. Thank you for your generous support to this amazing cause! O urch arity: The charity for this event will be the Miracle League of Southwestern Pennsylvania. The Miracle League of Southwestern PA was formed in 2007 with the goal of providing a field and league structure so that children with special needs could play organized baseball. After more than two years and much effort, Opening Day for the MLSWPA was on May 16, 2009 with 10 teams playing. The 2009 season was made up of a 16 game schedule broken up into eight game spring and fall sessions. After a successful first year, the MLSPWA expanded its offerings and added a Competitive Youth Division and Adult Division to go along with the Miracle Division in Opening Day for 2010 happened on May 13th with our first Competitive Youth Division game. The MLSWPA doubled its number of teams to 20 and will be playing a 16 game season once again broken up into eight game spring and fall sessions. Our very important volunteers have doubled in number as well from 2009 to 2010 with over 450 volunteers helping on the field. M iracle LeaguesM ission Statem en t: The mission of the Miracle League of Southwestern PA (MLSWPA) is to provide the opportunity for children and adults with special needs a chance to experience playing baseball in a league-based environment. MLSWPA provides leadership and facilities for a baseball program for children and adults with special needs in a manner consistent with MLSWPA and community values. With a specially designed rubber turf field, MLSWPA makes dreams come true for children and adults who desire to play ball just like their brothers, sisters and friends. All Directors, Officers, affiliated local athletic associations and volunteers shall bear in mind that the attainment of exceptional athletic skill or the winning of games is secondary, and the molding of future citizens is of prime importance.
