Make sure that you have read the document and understand it fully. If you don't understand any components of the contract, you may choose to have a legal professional go over the document with you. Include a copy of your medical insurance card (front and back).

3 Sponsorship Fee 1/18/2017 Checks should be made payable to the Kissimmee Valley $100 Livestock Show. Please advise exactly how the sponsor s name should be listed in the show program. Talent Music 2/3/2017 Music MUST be ed to the pageant at: missosceola@yahoo.com (in audio or mp3 format). Music must be 90 seconds or less. We will NOT accept talent music on the same day as the pageant. Miss Florida Contestant Contract IMPORTANT!!! The winner of the 2017 Miss Osceola Scholarship Pageant will be REQUIRED to immediately sign the Miss Florida Contestant Contract. The contract is included in this Application Packet for your review. If the winner does NOT meet the requirements set forth, she will relinquish her crown and all associated scholarship money awarded. Additionally, if the winner is NOT willing to fulfill the requirements set forth, she will also relinquish her crown and all associated scholarship money. It is extremely important you review the attached application packet and ask any questions prior to entering and competing in the Miss Osceola Scholarship Pageant.

4 Miss Osceola 2017 General Rules 1. To participate in the Miss Osceola Scholarship Pageant, each contestant must understand and accept the requirements of the Pageant, including the rules, guidelines, and limitations for contestants that will be applicable to her activities during her year of service, if she is selected as Miss Osceola Contestants are required to raise a $100 sponsorship fee. The funds raised will go directly to the Miss Osceola Scholarship program and fund future scholarship and awards. All sponsors will be mentioned in the formal pageant program and on stage the night of the contest. 3. Contestant must have been born a female and have always been female. Contestant is a U.S. citizen and a resident of the State of Florida, for at least 6 months prior to February 18, Residency proof is required in the form of a Driver s License, copy of a lease agreement, utility bill, etc. 4. Contestant must be a minimum of 17 years of age AND a high school SENIOR by the date of the pageant and be no older than 24 years of age as of December 31, Contestant must be single, never have been married or had a marriage annulled. Contestant can never have been pregnant. Is not the adoptive parent of a child. 6. Contestant must have a current driver s license. Contestant must not be on probation, incarcerated, or convicted of a felony offense. 7. A contestant cannot be a current title holder, in any other pageant system, nor will the winner (Miss Osceola 2017) be allowed to compete in any other pageants, with the exception of Miss Florida America. 8. Contestants are prohibited from displaying, communicating, and/or providing or having knowledge of inappropriate language, materials, or photographs on internet/web sites including but not limited to Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram. 9. Contestants must have a talent and be an amateur and not under contract with any talent agency or professional agent. 10. ALL contestants and the newly crowned queen will not consume alcoholic beverages while representing the Miss Osceola Scholarship Program. This includes, but is not limited to, during any and all public appearances, during the annual Osceola County Fair, and during the Miss Florida Pageant. The queen, regardless of age, will not be permitted to consume alcohol WITH or WITHOUT her crown during any formal appearance. 11. All contestants and the newly crowned queen will refrain from smoking while representing the organization at all events, as noted above. 12. Once crowned Miss Osceola the same individual may not compete again, for the same title, regardless of age.

5 Prerequisites and duties of the newly selected Miss Osceola 2017: 13. The newly selected Queen will be introduced to the fairgoing public, Kissimmee Valley Livestock Show Board of Directors, and media on Sunday, Feb. 19 th, 2017 and should be available 9:00 a.m. 8:00 p.m. on that date. (REQUIRED) a. The new Queen will also be required to sign the official Miss Florida Contestant Contract at that time, and will receive the official crown and sash of the Miss America Organization. 14. The Queen will also serve as the official hostess of the 2018 Osceola County Fair, February 9 th 18 th, (REQUIRED) 15. The chosen winner will be required to compete at the Miss Florida Scholarship Pageant, June 24 th July 1 st, 2017, in Lakeland, Florida. Final arrival dates and times will be released by State Officials at a later date, but Miss Osceola 2017 MUST be present for all pageant activities during pageant week. (REQUIRED) 16. The winner MUST also be present at the 2017 Miss Florida Orientation Weekend, May 20 th 21 st, 2017 and the 2017 Miss America Serves Day April 8 th - 9 th, (REQUIRED) 17. ALL personal appearances as Miss Osceola MUST be approved by the Pageant Director. 18. The 2017 Miss Osceola must attend a minimum of 50% of various sponsored KVLS activities throughout the year or forfeit her scholarship winnings. Activities include, but are not limited to the following; a. April 2017 Minor League Baseball at Osceola Stadium, ceremonial first pitch throw. b. April 2017 Osceola County Veterans Council Annual Dinner c. April 13 th, 2017 Kissimmee Valley Livestock Show Membership Meeting Present Scholarship Awards Give brief introduction about yourself d. April 2017 Education in the Park e. Kissimmee Memorial Day Parade f. KVLS Cowtown Classic October 6 th - 7 th, 2017 g. KVLS Trunk or Treat October 22 nd, 2017 h. Veterans Day Parade i. St. Cloud Christmas Parade Dec. 2 nd, 2017 j. Kissimmee Christmas Parade Dec. 9 th, 2017 Additional activities and schedules will be relayed to Miss Osceola as soon as the dates and times become available. 19. Should Miss Osceola 2017 become Miss Florida 2017, she will retain all scholarship winnings, crown, and sash, however a successor will be immediately named and the title, Miss Osceola 2017 relinquished to that successor. 20. Miss Osceola s personal appearance should be immaculate at all times when representing the organization in public. This includes proper attire which is clean and pressed, appropriate make-up and hair. 21. All wardrobe for the 2017 Miss Florida Scholarship Pageant will be reviewed by the Miss Osceola Pageant Executive Director and/or Committee. It is our goal to ensure the

6 candidate representing the organization at the state level has an abundance of tools, direction, and support going into the state program. The Committee and/or Executive Director will assist with wardrobe selection, talent selection and perfection, interview training, and modeling skills. 22. The Miss Osceola Scholarship Program will provide the following during and/or for state competition; a. Hotel Accommodations for Orientation Weekend (Contestant and Chaperone Only) b. Dinner Ticket for Orientation Weekend (If required by the Miss Florida Program) c. Hotel Accommodations for Pageant Week (Contestant Only) d. Production Number Dress Required by the Miss Florida Program The contestant and/or her family will be responsible for all other associated costs.

8 National Contestant Resume Instructions This is your opportunity to demonstrate to the national judges why they should consider you for the job of Miss America. You may list as many or as few items under each category as you desire. Your only restriction is that it must follow the established format and it must fit on one (1) page. This page, combined with the Platform Statement, will comprise your entire application for this job. The judges will receive exactly what is submitted. Any item incorrectly submitted that does not fit the established criteria may be submitted to the judges without an opportunity to correct. It is important that these instructions are followed, even when using the preformatted page included: 1. Create a New document with your computer s Word program. 2. Set margins for 1" on all four sides. The font style may not be any smaller than 10 and no larger than 12 point type, using the Times New Roman font style. Please refer to the attached sample to verify you are following the requested format. 3. With the justification set for left, type Name: in bold. Following the colon (:), hit the space bar twice. Then, type your name as you wish the judges to know it. (If your name is LaCricia Deborah Smith and you want to be known as Deborah Smith, please type Deborah Smith). 4. Then, move to the next line and type Title: in bold. Following the colon (:), hit the space bar twice. Then, type your state title. 5. Then, move to the next line and type Hometown: in bold. Following the colon (:), hit the space bar once. Then, type your hometown including the city and the state. 6. Move to the next line. Now set your justification to the right. Type Date of Birth: in bold. Hit the space bar two (2) times, and type the month, day, and year of your birth. (Ex. October 10, 1989) 7. Move Justification to the left. Double space down and type Education: in bold. Hit the tab bar three times and then type your most recent school first. If it is grad school, indicate it as such. List degree seeking (all on the same line as the name of the school), move to the line underneath that to list your undergraduate school and degree sought/achieved, and below that list your high school. 8. Double space down. Hit the tab bar once. Type Platform Issue: in bold. Hit the tab bar three times. Type the TITLE of your platform, MAKE SURE IT LINES UP WITH THE INFORMATION ABOVE IT. DO NOT TYPE ANYTHING OTHER THAN THE TITLE. 9. Double space down. Hit the tab bar once. Type Scholastic/Career Ambition: in bold. Hit the Tab bar once, MAKE SURE IT LINES UP WITH THE OTHERS ABOVE IT. Then type the type of degree/education you would ultimately like to achieve and beneath that, list your career ambition. 10. Double space down. Hit the tab bar once. Type Talent: in bold. Hit the tab bar three times. Type the type of talent and specific selection. MAKE SURE IT LINES UP WITH THE INFORMATION ABOVE IT. (i.e. Pop Vocal - Crying, Tap Dance - Staying Alive, etc.) 11. Please answer the question in sentence form. 19. Use your best judgment on what is most important for the judges to know about you. Use the space wisely. Attached is a resume example you can use as a guide. 20. The entire form must fit on one (1) page using the Times New Roman font style. You must leave a 1 margin on all four sides of the page. If spacing issues arise, simply follow the example provided. This form is given to the judges with your platform statement. You will notice there is a REQUIRED SIGNATURE LINE at the bottom of the Platform Statement. When these two pages are put together, they will create your entire application. Your signature covers the materials listed ON BOTH PAGES. Your signature verifies that everything on the forms you submit is true and accurate. If it is proven that any information on these forms are not true, correct and factual, you risk disqualification from competing in the National Competition and losing your state/local title.

12 National Contestant Platform Statement Instructions This is your opportunity to explain to the national judges what your chosen platform is and why it is important for the Miss America Organization to embrace this platform. In addition, it should explain how your platform will further the Miss America Organization brand to the public. It is important that these instructions are followed, even when using the preformatted page included. This essay may include some of the following items (this is not to be meant as an exhaustive list): A clear definition of the platform and the specific issues you wish to address A plan on how you have or will create awareness of the platform The way in which you have or will change attitudes regarding the issue The way in which you have or will change behaviors related to this issue The way in which your platform issue will move the Miss America Organization forward Your media plans Your marketing strategy How you propose to fund your ideas/plans Any significant accomplishments you have made in regard to your issue 9.
