1 ALL THAT DANCE REGISTRATION PACKET IMPORTANT HIGHLIGHTS: READ THIS PAGE FIRST! Please add our address to your address books: You can also send us messages via our FB page. Shoe day will be Saturday, August 12th from 9:30am Noon at the studio. Although not required, it s a great day to be fitted for dance shoes! Payment will need to be made that day. Shoes will be ordered and distributed to students the first week of classes. If you re unable to make shoe day, visit our website for other days during August we will be open. The more orders we have processed before classes start, the better. As always, those students needing pointe shoes will need to be fitted and may do so at Flying D Dancewear in the Metro Centre, Peoria. ATD does not stock pointe shoes. Master tap auditions: (for advanced tappers ages 14+ interested in enrolling in the master tap class) are set for Saturday, August 12th, 12:30-1:00pm Staff & TNT meeting: Saturday, August 12th, 1:00-1:30pm To register for classes: 1. (no money needed) Online registration will be available starting Aug.1st Please be advised that although this is the 3 rd year for online registration we re still learning & adjusting to all the features available (and they update them frequently!) We are excited to be able to offer an easier (we hope) way to not only register but also stay informed & current with your account. We appreciate your patience and cooperation! 2. Fill out and mail the enclosed registration form (will be available on our website as a PDF file August 1 st ) to ATD (no money needed) NOTE: All forms received WILL be entered into the online system manually by Lindsay REGISTRATION FORMS MUST BE RECEIVED BY AUGUST 25th! No registrations accepted via . We ll accept late registrations for classes with space available until September 30 th, but those forms will be subject to the $15 late fee. CLASSES START ON MONDAY, AUGUST 28 th! (We won t have classes on Labor Day, but that s the only Monday holiday we won t have classes. Other specified breaks are noted on our website s calendar page). Our evening classes on Halloween, Tuesday, October 31 st will be cancelled. The daytime preschool classes WILL meet that day. We ll once again be doing our fundraisers to help offset recital costume costs. We ll be selling Scentsy & Jumpy Monkey coffee. Please note that we don t automatically distribute order forms (since not everyone participates) so if you d like to participate, please check at the desk for forms during the week of Sept. 25th-30th. Forms & money will be due to ATD during the week of Oct. 9th-14th and all items should be at the studio ready to be picked up during the week of Nov. 13th-18th (prior to Thanksgiving break). TNT (Teachers N Training): For students in 8 th grade and older who demonstrate exceptional technique and leadership and are interested in being a teaching assistant. We don t need you to mail this back if you re agreeing to it online.) I have received or will obtain a copy of All That Dance's policies and will take the responsibility to carefully read and follow the rules and policies therein. I understand that All That Dance does not give credit and/or refunds for class(es) missed due to holiday, vacation, illness, weather, etc. I further understand that there are specific risks of physical or property damages, losses, or injury that may result from my or my child s participation with All That Dance, and I voluntarily assume the risks associated with such participation. I will not hold All That Dance, other students or teachers responsible in the event of an accident or injury. I accept I give permission to All That Dance to video or photograph my child(s). I relinquish all photographic rights and give permission to All That Dance to use my child's likeness as they deem appropriate. 3 ATD POLICIES & CURRICULUM Please read carefully & keep for reference UPDATED EVERY YEAR! REGISTRATION & ENROLLMENT It is understood that when registering your child for lessons, he or she is enrolled for the entire year (September through May) with tuition being divided up and due on the 15th of each month. **A $15 late fee will be charged to those who have not paid by the last day of the month** This will be STRICTLY enforced! Anyone who has not paid for two consecutive months will not be allowed to continue lessons until the previous months are paid (including late fees) Your child s absence from class does not reduce the cost of operating class for that day nor for operating the studio in general. Therefore, credit cannot be given for missed lessons. While there is no penalty for students no longer planning to attend classes, written or verbal confirmation MUST be received prior to him/her leaving. Until confirmation is received, tuition will continue to be due (with any late fees). There is a $25 service charge on all returned checks. Lessons are held each week except for specified holiday breaks & the occasional bad weather day or if the teacher is unable to attend class. If the class(es) you registered for is full or cancelled, we reserve the right to place your child in the next available class. PLEASE CHECK YOUR REGISTRATION CAREFULLY! ATD is not responsible for overpaid tuitions throughout the year. If you register online, you will not receive a written ( ) confirmation. You will, however, have access to your account 24/7 via the dancestudio-pro link on our website. Any registrations received on paper WILL be manually entered into the DSP system. *students wanting to enroll in Pointe must be at least 13yrs old, have had at least 1 year of immediate prior ballet training and also enroll in a ballet class for the current year. Please check with Lindsay to see if you qualify before enrolling. Thanks. PROPER ATTIRE Students are expected to have proper attire by the 4th week of lessons. Girls are to wear a leotard & tights or lycra/cotton dance pants or shorts & tops with proper shoes. Boys are to wear a t-shirt or tank top with dance pants or shorts and proper shoes. All ballet & pointe students should wear leotards so their bodies are more visible for alignment purposes. ABSOLUTELY NO JEANS OR STREET CLOTHES are considered to be dance clothes. It s very difficult to dance while wearing jeans (or jean shorts) or other street clothes so if a student wears them to class, they will be asked to sit & watch. No jewelry should be worn to dance class. Jewelry could get lost or stolen or could also cause distraction & possible injury. NO GUM CHEWING is allowed during classes this is an accident waiting to happen! All long hair MUST be tied back away from the face. Tap students will need black tap shoes with straps or ties; ballet students will need pink ballet shoes; jazz students will need black jazz shoes; lyrical students will need tan lyrical shoes; pointe students will need proper fitting, pink pointe shoes (girls need to be fitted for these, ATD does not carry them in stock. Flying D Dancewear in Metro Centre, Peoria, IL is a wonderful place to get pointe shoes. Visit their website at HOLIDAYS Classes will be cancelled for 3 main holiday breaks: Thanksgiving Break, Winter Break & Spring Break. (see calendar for dates) There will be no specified make up schedule for these classes. Tuition is pre-calculated for these breaks. BAD WEATHER The policy for bad weather is: if Galesburg District #205 cancels school for the day, the studio will also be closed. These missed days can be made up if chosen but will not have a specified make up time. If the school lets out early or starts late due to the weather, it s best to check on the ATD website or one of the following sites to find out if there s dance that day: Facebook, Twitter, WQAD, KQWC, WEEK, WMBD & 105.3KFM

4 MISSED CLASSES If your child must miss a class, a call or would be appreciated. The schedule of classes is posted on our website for reference. If your child does come to a make up lesson, please be sure the teacher is aware ahead of time so they receive proper credit. Only missed classes will be eligible for make up. It s more advantageous for students to make up classes prior to Winter Break. After Winter Break, classes will be working on dances for the upcoming Recital & each class will be working on a different dance. OBSERVATION Parents are invited to observe the last 5 minutes of each class every week (assuming the teacher allows). If you d like to watch your child s dance class, please just view from the doorways during the last 5 minutes of class. It s asked that all parents & observers wait in the lobby and NOT in the doorways of the dance room while classes are being held. It s very distracting to have people standing or sitting there talking & peeking in at the class. We also have new dance flooring that we d like to keep looking nice, so we don t allow street shoes on the floor. RESTROOM & DRINK BREAKS All students are to get drinks and use the restroom before or after class, NOT during class. It s very disruptive to leave in the middle of the class unless specified. MERCHANDISE Merchandise for sale at the studio includes proper shoes and tights for class along with leotards and All That Dance items. There is also a Used Shoe Box in which you can borrow shoes from until you order your own. It s asked that you return the borrowed shoes at the end of class so that other students can take advantage of the same shoes. People are also welcome to donate their old shoes to the box. SPECIALTY DANCES Specialty dances (solos, duos, trios, etc.) can be performed by anyone who shows a maturity to handle the responsibility and Lindsay chooses. More information will be available as the year progresses. We do our best to see that as many students as possible are given the opportunity so if a student has already performed a specialty number, he/she may not be chosen for a second one right away. All students interested in performing a Specialty dance MUST talk to Lindsay before Winter Break. Also, due to the growing interest in performing these Specialty dances, not all who sign up are guaranteed a spot in the show. DANCER OF THE MONTH & DANCER OF THE YEAR A great reward system for dancers to strive for! Dancers of the Month (students over age 7) are chosen each month (September through May) based on attendance, overall attitude, respect for fellow classmates & the teachers, willingness to learn & practice and also their behavior in and outside of class. The Dancers of the Month are introduced on stage at the end of the recital and the Dancer of the Year will be named at that time. Dancers of the Month are not limited to the number of years they can be chosen but the Dancer of the Year cannot be the same person within a 3 year span. RECITAL There is an annual recital the Friday after Memorial Day in which each class performs. Costumes are ordered for each class (therefore if a child is enrolled in 2 classes, he/she will have 2 costumes). Students are not required to purchase these costumes nor are they required to perform in the recital. However, performance in the recital requires purchase of a costume. All costumes will range in price from $40-$65, which we feel is very reasonable. Costumes WILL be ordered during Winter Break and a $30 deposit per family is due by that time. COSTUME DEPOSITS ARE NON-REFUNDABLE!! Please be sure your child IS performing in the recital prior to making your $30 payment. Costumes cannot be returned once ordered & therefore credit cannot be given. Please note: failure to pay costume deposit prior to Winter Break constitutes in your child(s) costume NOT being ordered. If your child is NOT planning to participate in the recital, please notify Lindsay prior to Winter Break. Payment for all costumes is due on or before January 31st. A $15 late fee applies to balances not paid in full by this date. In the past, people have made payments during the start of the year towards their costume invoices. These payments are welcome & accepted any time prior to the January 31 st deadline but as stated above, ALL costumes must be paid in full prior to January 31 st or they will incur the late fee. Those students of similar age & abilities are usually put together. The breakdown of ages & classes is merely a guideline & can be adjusted. Please be advised that it s at Lindsay s discretion where students are placed. Class Breakdown Pre... those who are between the ages of 3-4 and/or are new to dance K... those who are enrolled in Kindergarten as of the current school year (approx. ages 5-6) those who are enrolled in first or second grade as of the current school year (approx. ages 6-8) those who are enrolled in third or fourth grade as of the current school year (approx. ages 9-10) those who are enrolled in fifth or sixth grade as of the current school year (approx. ages 11-12) 7-8 (9)...those who are enrolled in seventh - ninth grade as of the current school year (approx. ages 12-14) HS 1... those who are enrolled in tenth-eleventh grade as of the current school year (approx. ages 16-17) HS 2... those who are enrolled in eleventh-twelfth grade as of the current school year (approx. ages 17-18) advanced students Adult... for those interested in a recreational class, performance possible but not required Meet The Staff! Lindsay Jameson, Owner/Director, Instructor Lindsay teaches tap, ballet, pointe & jazz and has been the Director of ATD since its beginning in She has danced for over 30 years and holds a Bachelor s Degree in dance from Ball State University. Lindsay was also a member of the Tazwood Dance Company in residence at Illinois Central College. She s performed in various theatre shows including Big, Guys & Dolls, West Side Story, Sophisticated Ladies and Crazy For You. She has also choreographed for several organizations including Choral Dynamics, Avon HS & the Monmouth-Roseville HS show choir. She s taught for Carl Sandburg College s Kids On Campus program since In her spare time, she enjoys watching the St. Louis Cardinals & the Dallas Cowboys, running, shooting fireworks on the 4 th of July, & geocaching! Olivia Bishop, Instructor (jazz, lyrical) Although Olivia has only been with ATD a short time, she has been dancing for six years. She has proven her passion is dance and has loved sharing her knowledge with fellow students. Olivia is a senior at United High School where she runs cross country & track. She's also a member of our Blue Heat team! Olivia loves math and has won first place in a geometry math competition! She hopes to continue to pursue a law degree in college. We're so fortunate to have her! Jessica Decker, Instructor (ballet, jazz) Jessica has been an ATD student since she was in grade school. She has taken class in tap, jazz, ballet, pointe and lyrical but ballet and pointe are her true passion. She has been one of our teaching assistants (TNTs) since 7th grade and enjoys helping students succeed. Jessica graduated from GHS in 2017 and is currently attending Carl Sandburg College pursuing nursing. She was a member of our Blue Heat team for 3 years. Jessica loves dancing and painting and is excited to pursue a dance career after transferring from CSC. We're lucky to have her on staff this year! Kyndal Hamman, Instructor (jazz, hip hop, tap) Kyndal has been dancing for the past 13 years in all styles of dance. She was a 2yr member of the GHS Gadet dance team and is an active member of our Blue Heat dance team. Kyndal has been a teaching assistant (TNT) for 4 years and loves teaching! She is a senior at Galesburg High School and will graduate in December. Kyndal loves anything creative including painting, makeup, art & dance! She plans to attend Carl Sandburg College after graduation. We're thrilled to add her to our staff! 7 Life without dance... NO registration fees! ($15 late fee applies to registrations received AFTER the due date) All That Dance offers classes in tap, jazz, lyrical, ballet, pointe, hip hop, and strength & flexibility. Students are taught the proper technique and dance terms in a fun and encouraging environment. No registrations accepted via . Register online: visit our website! Students may start taking classes as young as age 3 and continue as long as they wish. There are even classes for adults! Registration for fall classes takes place in August. Classes begin in September and continue through the school year until the annual recital (May or June, depending). No students are enrolled after September 30th. Tuition is due until written or verbal confirmation has been received that a student has dropped classes. The ATD website is constantly being updated and has important information posted such as schedule changes, class cancellations and other announcements. Each class meets once a week & tuition is due the 15th of each month ($15 late fee if not paid by end of the month) Check our website, you can now pay online! Classes are priced based upon their length. See price list. Each dance class learns a routine during the year that they perform in the spring recital. Costumes are ordered in December and the students work from January to May on their dances. LATE FEE POLICY A $15 late fee will be charged to any & all tuition payments that are not paid prior to the end of the month. Failure to pay for 2 consecutive months will result in removal from dance class. This will be strictly enforced....would be a mistake.

8 FUNDRAISERS We ll be doing two fundraisers again this fall to help raise money for recital costumes and other ATD fees. We'll be doing Scentsy & Jumpy Monkey coffee. Participation is not required but please only take forms if you plan on participating. Forms will be available the week of September 25th 30th and the turn in dates will be the week of October 9th 14th. We will have a late turn in for both but we'd really like to have all orders in by the 21st at the latest. Money raised will first go toward recital costumes for each family. Extra money raised beyond what's required for costumes will then be able to be applied to tuition, merchandise, etc. (basically anything else payable to ATD) Totals will be posted online through the DanceStudio-Pro system (which you can view 24/7 with your own login and password via our website) Items ordered with the fundraisers should be in before Thanksgiving (if orders are received by Oct 14th) so they'll make great gifts!! Also, since there is a $30 costume deposit due prior to Winter Break, we'll be able to let you know before that how much you've raised. We'll also include a note with your recital costume invoice showing the breakdown of funds raised & money due (if any). When the dates get closer, we should have some Scentsy samples at the studio! We ll once again be doing a contest to choose our featured Jumpy Monkey coffee flavor! (It ll be a basic, customer favorite, blend of coffee but we ll need help choosing a name relating to ATD!) The name suggestions can be submitted either via , on Facebook, or in person at the studio by September 15th. Once we ve narrowed the suggestions down, you will be able to cast your votes via Facebook (winner chosen on September 20th)! Please let us know if you have any questions!
