5 Just ask HR December 2017 Question #1 When can I expect my W-2 statement to be given to me? Answer W-2 s are given out before the end of January of each year. There are 2 ways that W-2 s are distributed to each employee. You will be mailed your W-2 to the address we have on file and also the W-2 will appear on your ADP paystub account at some time in January. Check your ADP website account periodically. Federal law states that W-2 s must be mailed out before January 31, Yearly wages are calculated based on any income actually received or checks printed through the end of December. The January 10, 2018 paycheck are on next year s W-2. Question #2 Is there anything that I should be doing every year that I must turn in or inform my supervisor about? Answer There are many things, that if they are changed at any time during the year, that should be reported to HR as soon as possible. Examples of these changes are address, phone number, proof of insurance information, emergency contact information, direct deposit account number, name changes, beneficiary information, training certificates from other agencies, nursing certification, changes in your educational degree status, changes in your driving license status, any convictions of any crimes, DUI s, and any other like situations. For address changes, there are two ways to find out what you currently have on file. First, you can call HR to find out what address is on file for you currently. Second, you can check on your ADP paystub, and your address on file will be listed. If you see the wrong address on the ADP paystub info, you need to change it immediately or your W-2 will also be sent to the wrong address when mailed by the end of January. Question #3 Am I supposed to turn in my car insurance information every year? Answer Each individual s car insurance effective date can be different. Whenever you renew your car insurance (usually every 6 months) you should turn in a copy of your new proof of insurance card to your supervisor. 7 Shining Stars Nate Lingren - SS, Fargo Nominated by Kate Coughlin, IDDT Team Lead South East Human Service Center, Fargo Nate goes above and beyond for our clients. His work with HS on employment, his positive attitude and great sense of humor make every day better. Nate s presence in HS s life has changed his life. Nate continues to follow up with HS and then helps him when he needs it. He s a great source of support and makes HS s life so much more robust by being in it. Sue Martin HR, Bismarck Sue went above and beyond to fill in for the trainers when they both had to travel for a training conference. Sue volunteered to get trained as a test proctor and took on an evening shift to facilitate a class and proctor tests. Seven staff working on their DD Certification benefited from Sue s willingness to take on this additional task. Also, it helped the trainers be able to get necessary training without having to worry about cancelling the class and inconveniencing staff. Sue is always a team player, but deserves special recognition for taking on this additional task outside of her required job duties to help others.

13 Cedric Theel s 3rd Annual Fill the Truck Toy Drive For the third year, Cedric Theel in Bismarck is hosting the Fill the Truck toy drive in support of Community Options Toy Give-Away. From now until December 20th, you can drop off gently used toys and clothing. The donated items will go to local families in need. Here are a few donation or gift ideas: Newborn: Board books, bath toys, diapers, teething rings Toddler-12 years old: Stuffed animals, action figures, puzzles, board games Teens: Make-up, hair supplies, nail polish, perfume, cologne, hoodies, gently used video games, movies Help make a child smile this Christmas. Any donation is greatly appreciated! Donations can be dropped off at Cedric Theel Toyota or by calling Sam, Joy or Karrie at Community Options in Bismarck. Cedric Theel s 4th Annual Fill the Truck Food Drive For the 4th straight year, Cedric Theel s Fill the Truck Food Drive was a great success. Thanks to their generosity, over 1000 pounds of food was given to CCO s Love Your Neighbor food pantry which helps feed those in need. Thank you Cedric Theel!

14 Movie Review-Daddy s Home 2 By: Kylie Peck and Scott Bruner Kylie: I kind of liked this movie because it is funny and I recommend seeing it. I enjoyed seeing the kid talk on the phone but didn t like all the fighting in the movie. Scott: The movie had many good parts that were funny especially when the girl shot the shot gun. I didn t like that the actor from Harry and the Henderson s was in the movie because his part was not good. I recommend this movie.
