Plot Universal Story - Act I In the first act the Trader introduces the Player the bubble universe and they work together as adventurer smugglers.

2 Plot Universal Story - Act I In the first act the Trader introduces the Player the bubble universe and they work together as adventurer smugglers. The act ends when they learn about a resistance against the Archivists. Act I Museum I (A Brave New World Story) The Player is invited to become the apprentice of Trader. The Trader teaches the Player how to interact with the bubble universe and gives her missions; collecting items or providing service to museum mascots. While accomplishing these missions the Player is stopped by the Archivists and is threatened by the deletion off the app and thus by losing contact to the bubble because of illegal activity. The Trader saves the Player and it s revealed that the Trader has been smuggling illegal emotions. Act I Museum II (The Treasure Hunt Story) A Museum Mascot Crime Lord gives the Trader a job of retrieving a long forgotten emotion from an artefact from an Archivist controlled museum. The Trader and the Player use creativity to find the artefact; meaning they find artefacts with artistic or historical value. When they find the artefact the rich emotions react to their creativity and they witness the birth of a new Museum Mascot. Instead of bringing the new born to the Crime Lord they give the New Born to the Museum Mascots. The Crime Lord threatens them with revenge. Act I Museum III ( The museum mascots inform the Trader and the Player that the Archivists were planning to install an emotion transfer blocking system to prevent trade (and smuggling) between museums and would test it in the museum they were in. With the help of the Museum Mascot they overload the new blocking system with emotions and ideas so that the test fails. The museum Mascot informs the Trader and the Player that there was a hidden resistance in in the museums and invites them to join.

3 Plot Universal Story Act II In this act the Trader and the Player work with Museum Mascots against the Archivists. At their victory against the Archivists this secret is revealed and this breaks their relationship. Also, the device they use to imprison the Archivists breaks at the end and leaks negative emotions to the bubble space. Act II Museum IV The Museum Mascots task the Trader and the Player to identify the power source of the Archivists. They investigate artefacts strongly affected by the Archivist limitations and free them. Their investigation reveals that the Archivists are a product of the prejudices of museum visitors. Act II Museum V The Museum Mascots inform the Trader and the Player that the Crime Lord is in league with the Archivist. To break their alliance the Trader and the Player place false evidences against the Crime Lord, meaning implanting emotions of freedom and creativity to artefacts given under the control of the crime lord, which leads to his arrest. (There will be a cameo of the New Born) Act II Museum VI The Museum Mascots inform the Trader and the Player that the Archivists plan to use an upgraded version of blocking system to lock each Museum Mascot to an artifact. The Player implants strong emotions to artifacts and change the polarization of the system. The Trader and the Player then turn the the blocking system against the Archivists and lock them into their own trap. As they celebrate the system blocking system malfunctions and bursts the negative prejudices and emotions which created the Archivists to the bubble space and poisons the Museum Mascots.

4 Plot Universal Story Act III Act III Museum VII (Outbreak Story) The Trader and the Player search for a cure for the Museum Mascots. The Player collects positive emotions from artifacts and helps the yet not poisoned Museum Mascots to prepare a cure. As time passes these Museum Mascots start to show symptoms of poisoning. Before the Player can prepare the cure the Crime Lord intervenes and turns the cure into a much powerful poison which turns the Museum Mascots into Archivists under the Crime Lord s control. Before it turns into a permanent transformation the Trader sacrifices herself and tells the player to go to the last unaffected museum to find the New Born which can help to save the Bubble Universe. Act III Museum VIII The Player finds the New Born and with the help of the last Museum Mascot enhances her into her full potential which is a new Geldern Dragon. When the Crime Lord arrives with the help of the Geldern Dragon the Player defeats him and saves the Bubble Universe.

5 On the global scale the Trader s story is the A-plot but it becomes the B-plot on the local scale. The meaning of each object, their relation ship between each other and the museum mascot becomes the main storyline.

6 Local Story Characteristics Each local story will have a play time of 20 to 40 minutes Each local story will feature at least a museum mascot and a minimum of 8 artefacts from the museum as well as links to other museums Local Stories include a short guidance about the museum and its collection. Local Stories will feature a Museum Mascot Storyline which connects the collection and explains the core ideas of the museum.

8 Mission Structure Each local mission starts with a conversation with the museum mascot. The museum mascot gives a mission to the player which directs the player to museum artefacts. Missions direct players to specific object in the museum and encourages them to study them closely and find relationships between them

14 Release (Throw) Mechanic: When the player reaches a location while carrying digital objects; he/she may have to throw these to a specific target at the location. Drawing: The Player has to draw a specific shape within a limited time limit. Potion Mixing: The Player uses a cup shaped object from the exhibition to mix potions. Combining: Part of the inventory system, digital object may be combined on the screen. Fit in the frame: An empty frame is given to the Player and she has to find an object fitting to this shape. 16 Xanten Local Story Ideas The local story is about the Museum Mascot, the Legionary Bear. The main theme is how the Romans have interacted and affected the Region for 300 years and then left it almost without a trace. The missions: Repair the Bathhouse The player needs to understand how the bathhouse works, meaning the cold and warm water cycle and the bathing traditions of Romans. Then collects pipes and uses them to repair the bathhouse water system. Collect and mix potions, explore the trade in the region Solve the mystery of the Nero-Gemme Clean the Venus Sculpture Find treasure of the LB Gladiator Fight
