1 October 17, 2014 WJW-WJT Families, Well, it's hard to believe, but this week marks the end of the 2014 regular season. It seems like just yesterday I was writing to say that we were ready for Week 1. We've been relatively lucky with the weather to this point...cross your fingers for a few more weekends! Next weekend will be playoff match-ups, and the following weekend, with any luck, we'll have some teams in action in the Championship Games. Regardless of the outcome, the kids have all done an exceptional job and I've seen a lot of improvement, and most importantly, smiles! The cheerleaders had another great showing this weekend at the AYFCL Cheer competition, with a first place, three seconds, and a third. We also got to see the Flag Cheerleaders in action...what a fantastic job they did! Great job girls...and coaches!! This weekend is our Cheer for Charity competition at Thomas. Come out and cheer on the girls! Reminder to all that there are a few spaces still available for yearbook ads to celebrate the successes of your participant this season. You can purchase these spaces in your account on our website. Best of luck to all this weekend and enjoy your last weekend of regular season action! Go Webster! Tom Widell

Challenger Bowl Sunday, 11/02/14 from 9 a.m. 1 p.m. For a number of years now, WJW-WJT has been hosting the annual Challenger Bowl flag football game for the participants of the All Star Flag Football league here in Webster. This league is made up of many of the same participants of the Challenger Baseball program and they are truly a terrific bunch of athletes! Our annual Challenger Bowl game has become the super bowl like culmination to their flag season and we ve been told that these special athletes look forward to this game all year round. The Challenger Bowl is typically held on the Thomas turf field (many thanks to the Webster Central School District for the donation of that field for this event) and we do it up with full WJW-WJT game day regalia (Announcer, Scoreboard, Music, Cheerleaders, Referees (thanks, WJW-WJT coaches), Concessions and Chains).
4 Please join us on Sunday, November 2. We need many fans to cheer on the game and volunteers to help (concessions, booth, chains, cheerleaders, cheering fans, etc.). This has become a great way for families (parents and their kids) to help give back to other members of our community. For many in our organization, this is their single favorite activity of all the many things we do each season!! Please consider signing up to help even if only for an hour or two - by ing Michelle Potter, Volunteer Coordinator, at coordinator.volunteer@wjw-wjt.org. With money raised from the concession operation at last year s game, WJW/WJT was able to purchase and deliver to them, prior to their games this season, 36 brand new sets of flags to outfit all their athletes. The organizers and participants of this group are always extremely appreciative of the bond our organization has formed with theirs. Yearbook Ads Did you miss the deadline? Ads are still available on a limited basis. Don t be disappointed submit your ad today! As in the past, we will have a FREE yearbook for all participants in levels C, B, and A. C-Blue placed 1 st ; C-White, B-Blue and A teams all placed 2 nd and C-White placed 3 rd in a very tough division while competing against our B-Blue team. Congratulations to all of our cheerleaders and coaches/managers for all of their hard work and dedication!! Their great spirit and pride continues to shine in all they do! Cheer for Charity will be the last competition all of our teams compete in. It will be this Saturday, Oct. 18, at Webster Thomas High School. Doors open at 8:45 a.m. and the competition begins promptly at 10am.
