1 Rally 2019 Synopsis of Rules for RWAS Competitions 2019 (Full Rules for Pre rally & Rally Competitions Dates and venue TBC) FEDERATION DISPLAY THEME: Nursery Rhymes COMPETITION 1 Up to six members (26 years of age or under) No more than four members to stage and prepare displays. The two additional members are only permitted to erect the frame. FLORAL COMPETITION THEME Myths & Legends. COMPETITION 2 Members Competition One member. (16 years of age or under) Prepare an exhibit to depict a myth or legend of your choice. THEME A trio of Street food. Two members. (26 years of age or under) COOKERY COMPETITION

2 A team of two members to prepare a trio of street food for one person, local produce to be used where possible. Competitors will need to include a minimum of one savoury and one sweet dish. CRAFT COMPETITION One member. (21 years of age or under) Member to create a puppet from any medium suitable for children. Members must complete a practical test, as directed by the judge to showcase the skills used to create the item. All items for the practical test to be brought on the day of the competition. COMPETITION 3 SHEEP SHEARING COMPETITION Two members (one 26 and one 21 years of age or under). Members to shear two lambs each.

3 COMPETITION 4 WOOL HANDLING One member (26 years of age or under). One member to handle two fleeces. COMPETITION 5 SINGING Solo - One member (26 years of age or under). Group - Up to 6 singers but no less than 2 singers (26 years of age or under). Solo section Emulate a British No. 1 / 40 Mawr Radio Cymru. Group Perform a song / medley from Eurovision or Cân i Gymru.

4 COMPETITION 6 DANCING A team of between 4 and 8 members (26 years of age or under). The same four members must dance both dances. Additional members (up to 4) are allowed to perform in either dance To perform a dance from a musical; be it stage or screen. 2. Teams are then to perform a contrasting style of dance. COMPETITION 7 An ITEM TO DEPCIT A NURSERY RHYME Two members (one 26 and one 21 years of age or under). Members of the team will be required to depict a nursery rhyme of their choice through any medium. Members must complete a practical test, as directed by the judge to showcase the skills used to create the item. All items for the practical test to be brought on the day of the competition.

5 COMPETITION 8 CHILDRENS ENTERTAINMENT DISPLAY (CATTLE RING COMPETITION) Team of up to 10 members (26 years of age or under). All members of the team to portray a children s entertainment display. One member 26 years of age or under to do a live commentary introducing their display. COMPETITION 9 CATTLE STOCK JUDGING WELSH BLACKS The 26 and 21 years of age and under competitors to place and give reasons on two rings of four cattle. The 18 years of age and under competitor to place two rings of four cattle and give reasons on one ring (the ring to be specified prior to the competition). The 16 years of age and under competitor to place and give reasons on one ring of four cattle.

6 DRESSING UP COMPETITION THEME Nursery Rhyme COMPETITION 10 Two members (One 18 years and one 16 years of age or under). Two members to dress up a Club Leader /senior member as a character from a nursery rhyme of their choice. COMPETITION 11 WELSH MULE SHEEP JUDGING Four members (one 26, one 21, one 18 and one 16 years of age or under). The 26 and 21 year old and under competitors to place and give reasons on two rings of four sheep. The 18 years old and under competitor to place two rings of four sheep and give reasons on one ring (the ring to be specified prior to the competition). The 16 years old and under competitor to place and give reasons on one ring of four sheep.

7 COMPETITION 12 A TWIST ON THE NURSERY RHYME Team of between two and six members. (26 years of age or under). Team of up to six members to perform / portray a nursery rhyme with a different ending to the original. MALE AND FEMALE TUG-OF-WAR COMPETITION 13 A team shall consist of eight pulling members. No more than two (2) members of a team shall be between the ages of 15 and 17 years on 1 September 2018 and the remainder of the team MUST be between 17 years of age and 26 years of age & under on 1 September All competitors must be full members of a Club based in Wales and affiliated to Wales YFC or NFYFC. You cannot compete for more than one club and county in one membership year. The 2019 NFYFC Tug-of-War Rules shall apply as set by the ToWA. Weights; 680 kg Men, 580 kg Ladies.

8 COMPETITION 13 (b) JUNIOR TUG-OF-WAR A team shall consist of between 7 and 10 pulling members male or female who must be 12 years of age and over on the day of the competition and under 16 years of age on 1st September This means competitors MUST have attained their 12th birthday on the 1st of September 2018 and may be 17 on the day of the competition. (You cannot compete for more than one club and county in one membership year.) Substitutes are allowed please see NFYFC rules. FASHION PARADE COMPETITION 14 Three members (one 26 and two 21 years and under). Customise two costumes for a Fairy-tale Ball, one female costume and one male costume. Items purchased from a charity shop are allowed; customisation allowed using any medium. One member of the team to do a live commentary during the fashion show. One microphone will be available. Music will be allowed to accompany the fashion show.

9 COMPETITION 15 WOODWORK Two members (26 years of age or under) To make a wishing well. TIME 2 hours is allowed to complete the task. COMPETITION 16 PALLET RECYCLING COUNTY ROUND WILL BE AT WINTER FAIR COMPETITION 17 GENERATION GAME THEME Myths, Legends & Nursery Rhymes. Two members (18 years of age or under) Competitors will be required, individually or as a team, to complete \ perform a task on the YFC stage in a given amount of time as demonstrated by the judge on the day.

10 COMPETITION 18 WELSH COBS SECTION D STOCK JUDJING Four members (one 26, one 21, one 18 and one 16 years of age or under). The 26 and 21 years of age and under competitors to place and give reasons on two rings of four cobs. The 18 years of age and under competitor to place two rings of four cobs and give reasons on one ring (the ring to be specified prior to the competition). The 16 years of age and under competitor to place and give reasons on one ring of four cobs. COMPETITION 19 BLINDFOLDED OBSTACLE COURSE Team of two members (one 26 and one 18 years of age and under). Both members to be dressed as a fairy-tale duo. One member of the team to be blindfolded and directed through an obstacle course by the second team member

11 COMPETITION 20 7 A SIDE RUGBY The games shall be played during the sports competition during Rally. COMPETITION 21 SCRAPBOOK Club Members (26 years of age or under) To compile a club Scrapbook to depict a club s year, to incorporate press cuttings, photographs, work within the Community etc. DISPLAY Half a trestle table will be available for the displaying of the Scrapbook.
