5 HCNC NewfNews Third Quarter 2015 breed tests. Thanks also to Lynn Kitch who donated the newfie coffee and chocolates which were our awards for our veteran newfs. Our stewards were phenomenal again -- they worked hard to provide a great test experience for all, especially on Sunday with high winds and rowing for WRDX Most all of our exhibitors noted that there was just not enough time to get ready for this season's testing, however, each team gave a valiant try and everyone had many shining moments. Moments that jump out include Perrie's solid drop retrieves, Mojo's amazing jumps, Dexter's stunning control at the beach, Vivian's outstanding effort with three drowners in the wind, Ian's steady work saving the unconscious drowner, Ruca's silly non-swim, Samantha's birthday girl great drop retrieve, Odin's terrific veteran performance, Junah's lightning fast underwater retrieves, Winnie's gorgeous jump for the Rescue, Callie's speedy straight heeling, and Sully's perfect Take A Lines. Along with a nice Newfoundland entry, there was also a good entry for all breed entrants- and two qualifiers among our sporting dog friends. (Congrats to Rain on her WD and Ozzie on his WRD) Our tadpole test is always such a hit, and this year we had six new-to-waterwork dogs who gave us terrific performances. Great job Sadie, Choo- Choo, Samantha, Callie, our other Sadie and Butters Our veterans Odin and Ruca enjoyed their outing also. Jackie Upwood and Odin made it clear to all watching that once you have "got it" you can still "rock it" even at the age of almost 12 Our photo contest awarded the "grand champion" photo to Brian Brown, who's entry came from New Hampshire. His newf Skyla's portrait was stunning (photo to the right) Also receiving photo honors were Sue Schneider, Terri Desnica, and Jay Acker. Thanks for entering your photos in the contest, it was so much fun to enjoy the photos along with the water events. 5
6 At the close of the weekend, we congratulate HIT CH Sweetbay's Sullivan, WD(1), DD2, CD, RE, TDI handled by Patti Pigeon on requalifying at the Water Dog level, CH Topgun's Sweet Summer Rain, UDX, RA, VCD2, TD,, OA, OAJ, DD(2) handled by Terri Desnica for earning a new HCNC Water Dog title, and DanikkRobRoy-Ozzie WD handled by Susan Green for earning a new HCNC Water Rescue Dog title.
