1 Nightline Overall Risk Assessment Rating (column 4) To obtain a risk rating for each identified hazard, the score for the likelihood of it happening is multiplied by the score for its potential for harm (For example, 8 (high) multiplied by 6 (normal) = 48). The final result is a list of vulnerable areas each with a risk assessment rating. The higher the number, then the greater the risk. The Risks Likelihood Severity Overall Trips and Falls, Head Injury 3) Security 4) Group Control 5) Weather/Environment Adverse weather effects List of Measures taken to Control Hazards: 1) Adult in charge is to ensure the group stays together and is close enough to support and pays particular attention to the numbers of people allowed on each element. 2) Equipment is checked structurally every week by site staff and is checked by staff in the morning for functionality, before any activity sessions begin. 3) The course is fenced in and only opened when the activity is booked. 4) Recommended numbers of participants are given for safety and signs in place to help group control. 5) Adults/Group leaders will take weather conditions into consideration and adapt the course route if necessary.
