2 OBSTACLE COURSE COMPETITION TASK: CONDUCT OBSTACLE COURSE COMPETITION. CONDITIONS: GIVEN AN OBSTACLE COURSE CONSISTING OF FOURTEEN OBSTACLES, LAID OUT ALONG 325 METERS OF FLAT TERRAIN, TEAMS OF FIVE CADETS (MINIMUM OF ONE FEMALE PER TEAM), GRADERS, AND SAFETIES. STANDARDS: EACH MEMBER OF THE TEAM MUST SAFELY NEGOTIATE EACH OBSTACLE AGAINST THE CLOCK TO DETERMINE WINNER OF THE COMPETITION.
3 OBSTACLE COURSE COMPETITION THE INTENT OF THIS EVENT IS TO FOSTER FRIENDLY COMPETITION AMONG SCS SCHOOLS AND PROMOTE TEAMWORK AND PHYSICAL FITNESS AMONG THE PARTICIPATING CADETS.
4 OBSTACLE COURSE COMPETITION TRUMANN HIGH SCHOOL WILL HOST AN OBSTACLE COURSE COMPETITION ON 29 SEPTEMBER 2018 FROM 0800 TO THIS IS A TEAM EVENT. EACH TEAM WILL CONSIST OF 5 MEMBERS, ONE OF WHOM MUST BE A FEMALE. SCHOOLS MAY FIELD MULTIPLE TEAMS. $25 ENTRY FEE FOR EACH TEAM.
5 OBSTACLE COURSE COMPETITION THE COURSE IS LOCATED BEHIND CEDAR PARK ELEMENTARY SCHOOL IN TRUMANN, AR CEDAR STREET TRUMANN, AR 72472
6 TRUMANN ARKANSAS
7 OBSTACLE COURSE COMPETITION TROPHIES WILL BE AWARDED FOR 1 ST, 2 ND, AND 3 RD PLACE. MEDALIONS WILL BE AWARDED TO EACH MEMBER OF 1 ST, 2 ND, AND 3 RD PLACE TEAMS.
8 OBSTACLE COURSE COMPETITION A WATER POINT WILL BE SET UP FOR COMPETITORS. THERE IS A MALE AND FEMALE LATRINE ON SITE.
9 OBSTACLE COURSE COMPETITION UNIFORM FOR THE EVENT IS THE ARMY COMBAT UNIFORM TOP AND BOTTOM, T- SHIRT, AND BOOTS. GLOVES.
10 COMPETITION RULES SAFETY IS PARAMOUNT. SAFETY VIOLATIONS WILL BE IMMEDIATELY CORRECTED. REPEATED VIOLATIONS WILL RESULT IN TEAM BEING REMOVED FROM THE COURSE.
11 COMPETITION RULES (CONT.) ALL MEMBERS OF THE TEAM MUST SUCCESSFULLY NEGOTIATE THE OBSTACLE PRIOR TO MOVING TO THE NEXT OBSTACLE. CADETS WILL BE GIVEN THREE OPPORTUNITES TO CORRECTLY NEGOTIATE OBSTACLE BEFORE BEING ASSESSED A PENALTY AND ALLOWED TO PROCEED TO NEXT OBSTACLE.
12 COMPETITION RULES (CONT.) A WALK THROUGH OF THE COURSE WILL BE CONDUCTED PRIOR TO THE START OF THE COMPETITION. TEAM MEMBERS WILL BE ALLOWED TO NEGOTIATE THE OBSTACLES UNDER THE SUPERVISION OF THEIR SAI/AI. SAFETIES WILL BE ON SITE.
13 COMPETITION RULES (CONT.) ONLY MEMBERS OF THE TEAMS ON THE READY LINE, START LINE, OR ACTIVELY NEGOTIATING COURSE WILL BE ALLOWED INSIDE THE FENCE. A MEMBER OF THE SCHOOL S5 WILL BE ALLOWED ON THE COURSE TO PHOTOGRAPH THEIR TEAM.
14 COMPETITION RULES (CONT.) ARGUMENTS WITH SAFETIES OR GRADERS WILL RESULT IN IMMEDIATE DISQUALIFICATION OF THE TEAM. SCORING OF THE COURSE WILL BE BY TIME. PENALTY FOR FAILURE TO CORRECTLY NEGOTIATE AN OBSTACLE IS ONE MINUTE. PENALTY FOR SINGLE SAFETY VIOLATION IS ONE MINUTE AND RENEGOTIATION OF THE OBSTACLE.
15 COMPETITION RULES (CONT.) TIRE FLIP WILL BE TIMED EVENT HELD SEPARTELY FROM THE OBSTACLE COURSE. TIMES WILL BE ADDED TO OBSTACLE COURSE FINAL TIME. IN THE EVENT THAT THE COMBINED TIMES FOR THE OBSTACLE COURSE AND THE TIRE FLIP RESULT IN A TIE, A HEAD TO HEAD TIRE FLIP COMPETITION WILL DETERMINE THE WINNER.

24 OBSTACLE 4 HORIZONTAL LADDER MOUNT LADDER AND GRASP FIRST RUNG OF HORIZONTAL LADDER, PALMS FACING FORWARD. SUSPENDED UNDER THE LADDER, ALTERNATING ARMS GRASP EACH RUNG. BOTH HANDS MUST TOUCH LAST RUNG OF THE LADDER. DROP TO THE GROUND.

32 OBSTACLE 8 THREE VAULTS VAULT OF OBSTACLE BY PLANTING HANDS ON THE HORIZONTAL BEAM AND PROPELLING FEET OVER. FEET MAY TOUCH BEAM TEAM MAY NEGOTIATE SIMULTANEOUSLY WITH NO MORE THAN 2 CADET FRONT.
33 OBSTACLE 9 ROPE TRAVERSE
34 OBSTACLE 9 ROPE TRAVERSE CLIMB THE PLATFORM AND GRASP THE ROPE WITH HANDS AND FEET. LEADING WITH THE HEAD, TRAVERSE THE LENGTH OF THE ROPE. TOUCH THE VERTICLE ANCHOR BEAM AT THE FAR END OF THE OBSTACLE. RELEASE FEET AND DROP TO THE GROUND. ONE CADET MAY OCCUPY ROPE AT A TIME.
35 OBSTACLE 10 SWING, STOP, AND JUMP
36 OBSTACLE 10 SWING, STOP, AND JUMP GAIN MOMENTUM WITH A SHORT RUN, GRASP ROPE, AND SWING BODY FORWARD TO THE TOP OF THE HORIZONTAL BEAM. PAUSE ON THE BEAM, RELEASE ROPE, AND JUMP TO THE GROUND.
37 OBSTACLE 11 INCLINING WALL
38 OBSTACLE 11 INCLINING WALL APPROACH WALL AT WALK OR SLOW RUN. JUMP UPWARD AND GRASP TOP OF WALL AND CHIN UPWARDS. KICK FEET UP AND OVER TOP OF WALL. ROLL BODY OVER TOP OF WALL AND DROP TO THE GROUND. TWO CADETS ON WALL AT A TIME.
