1 ZDRZAŁKA competition Rules and regulations Participation: Representations of airborne units: 5 soldiers (officers, NCOs, privates) without dividing into particular age subgroups plus a team manager (he/she does not take part in competition). Date and place: SEPTEMBER 2018, Poland, Bielsko-Biała city (18 th airborne battalion barracks) and surrounding area. Equipment needed: Battledress (the same for the team); Individual first aid kit (each competitor); Compass (each competitor); Military back-pack (each competitor); Other equipment (e.g. rappel harness, climbing equipment, boat will be given by Polish site) General schedule: 24 SEP 2018 (Monday) Till team arrival information briefing 25 SEP 2018 (Tuesday) training instructional classes concerning disciplines and special tasks (introduction how to use equipment during competition) parachute training opening ceremony competition briefing (draw for the starting order). 26 SEP 2018 (Wednesday) movement to Lipowa airport parachuting competition combat tactical competition (including weapon shooting, obstacle course) technical briefing (judges and team managers). 3 1. Static line parachute jump To execute a parachute jump competition the team has to appear at full strength (5 competitors). A team without full personal strength (5 competitors) cannot take part in this competition. To perform the jump competition each team has to fill up the following roles: all teams have to submit jump request to 6 th Airborne Brigade CDR (attachment: Application for permit to perform the parachute jumps.doc), all foreign competitors have to participate in ground pre-parachute training organized by 6 th Airborne Brigade. Equipment: battledress, helmet (dedicated for parachute jump), parachute type AD-95, reserve parachute AZ-95, knife (provided by organizers). Running the parachute jump competition: After teams arrive at the airfield Deputy Director indicates the Preparation Area (PA) for a jump. In PA there is parachute equipment (parachutes) for competitors. Jump Director conducts checking of teams manifests. Teams conduct jumps according to the order established the day before. Before getting on the plane/helicopter each team has to go through the control lines following Regulations of Parachute Jumps. After landing competitors have to pack the parachute into a bag and go to Collection Area (CA) as soon as possible. The area is marked by a red flag placed in the center of CA. All details concerning CA will be provided during parachute training. The judge starts the stopwatch immediately after landing of the last team member on the ground. Scores The base of the score is the time obtained by a team plus the penalty time. The team can be punished by the penalty of 1 point less for leaving some part of equipment (parachute, knife, helmet, etc.). The final time, obtained by the team, is calculated to points. Page 3 / 7

4 2. Endurance tactical contest : 2.1 Mountain march (with time limitation) approx. 25 km When teams arrive at the start point they receive maps with marked tracks. Teams have to follow this track - descent of the route causes disqualification. On the map there are marked points with special tasks (tasks: 1); 2); 3)). The final time, obtained by the team, is calculated to points. Equipment necessary for the task: Battledress (the same for the team); Individual first aid kit (each competitor); Compass (each competitor); Military back-pack (each competitor); Water (minimum 1 l for each soldier). 2.2 Water object reconnaissance Upon arrival to the task starting point, teams sit on the raft and cross the predesignated water route with the use of paddles. When reaching the dam, teams are expected to find a suitable route to its crown to conduct its reconnaissance. When finished, teams withdraw from the object using rappelling techniques and equipment. Equipment necessary for the task: - hip harness; - static and dynamic lines; - descenders: figure eight descender; reverso descender; single rope descender (simple); - back - up devices: shunt; autoblock. 2.3 Difficult terrain / obstacle crossing using the rope The team is to cross the difficult terrain (about 20m) using the rope (the height is about 3,5m without touching the ground. 5 2.4 Orienteering When teams reach special task point no. 2) they receive envelopes with checkpoints (triangle map collection point, 5-6 millimeters circle checkpoint, lantern point circle center). Teams have to find all checkpoints and have to do this in the order shown on the map (confirmation of this fact by a perforator placed in circle). Each checkpoint can be reached by all team members. If a team skips a checkpoint they will receive 3 points of penalty for each checkpoint. 3. Otherwise, a team will be disqualified or punished by given penalty points; 4) A start card is basic document for every team during the compatition; 5) The classification is only teamwork; 6) Team members are allowed to help each other; 7) Sequence of the tasks can be changed by the organizers because of weather conditions; 8) Alcohol is strictly forbidden within military barracks and during the competition; 9) Medical assistance is provided by the organizers or Polish national health system elements; 10) Detailed safe precautions will be given directly before the competition.
