13 Information Information: Cushla has done an outstanding job with developing coaches in the Canterbury region. Holding courses and helping to mentor new upcoming coaches. Cushla s hard work is helping to create a strong pool of effective coach s and for these we wish to award Cushla as coach of the year. Grant has not only helped the Oxford Bowling Club but has strenghtened Country Bowls and Bowls Canterbury is proud to award Grant administrator of the year. 14 Information Harry Gilbert has been a member of the Cashmere Bowling Club since 1994 and has put a lot of hard work into the club. Harry has completed many different projects to help the Cashmere Bowling Club survive. Brain Lawson (President of Cashmere Bowling Club) states "the Cashmere Bowling Club would not be able to survive without the work of Harry Gilbert". Bowls Canterbury awards Harry Gilbert with Volunter of the year. Papanui Club: Trevor Glue Papanui Club: Mary Harrington Official of the Year Ray Hunt not present Information Ray Hunt has a great deal to do with umpiring in the Canterbury region. Ray dedicates his time to umpiring events and works hard in training new umpires and is looking to develop a high standard of umpires for international events that will be hosted in Canterbury over the next four years. Papanui Club Burnside Bowling Club Bowls Papanui Redcliffs Bowling Club Merit Award Teaghan Mower Information Teaghan Mower is a very special young girl, being the youngest player to win an open a centre title. Young Teaghan won the open centre fours title with the Leeston Fours team therefore breaking history. Furthermore, Teaghan was also a semi finalist in the 1st and 2nd year Champion of Champion Singles. Teaghan also appeared on the children television show What Now and did a great job of promoting the sport of Bowls to young people. Teaghan is a great role model for young people and she is breaking the sterotype that Lawn Bowls is for old people. Bowls Canterbury awards Teaghan Mower with this merit award. Young Bowler of the Year Andrew Kelly Cup & presented by Grant Evans Nominations Information Andrew Kelly has had a great season full of success. Andrew has put a lot of time into the sport and it has paid off. One of the big achievements for Andrew was being a member of the junior New Zealand team that won the junior Trans Tasman test.
