That equals 316 programs a day! There is more than enough time for every skater to play their music as much as they want at St Paul FSC :) Traditional Music Policy Primarily used for skaters training single jumps - 2Lz and Gold FS tests. September-May: 4:30pm-8:20pm Summer: FS Sessions When a skater is ready they should place their music in line. All skaters in line are allowed to play their music once before a skater may play his/her music a second time. A coach, who wants to play their skater s music, may bump a skater in the line and place their student s music at the beginning of the line. The Coach may not go ahead of the skater on deck. A coach may not place their student s music ahead of another coach already in line. September-May: 6:30am-4:30pm Summer: High Performance FS Sessions & 1-2 assigned High Performance Skaters per FS Session. (priority for assignments will go by level) High Performance Music Policy meets the constantly changing developmental needs of the athlete s macro (yearly) and micro (weekly & monthly) training cycles. Priority is based on skaters current micro cycles: Competition & Test schedule, Jump level, Competition level, Gold Test. Director and coaches work together to establish program and section order for the sessions. Micro cycle dates & priority will be written on a white board by music player.

SUMMER 9:40-10:40 High Performance FS Session 2A or Triples (send in video for website) No Moves* 12:50-1:50 High Performance FS Session 2A<< or Triples << Regional Well Balanced Competitors PJ and UP Training for Senior FS Test No Moves* Lessons: Skaters who don t qualify for session at spin end goalie line to mirrors. *Moves in the Field Policy- Moves in the Field must always yield to other skaters on all sessions. Moves in the Field are not allowed on High Performance FS Sessions. The following exceptions apply to skaters in a lesson: If the High Performance FS session has only 2-3 skaters and the patterns do not interfere with skaters who are skating full speed, a coach may have their skater practice full ice patterns for Moves in the Field. If full patterns can t be practiced safely the coach may opt to have their skater practice separate components of the movements such as turns, twizzles and loops on the spin end. (Spin End is from red dots to mirrors.) Skaters and coaches need to be aware of other skaters on the session who may skate into the spin end and they must yield the right of way at all times. hopefully ahead of the times :) Effective: Oct 27, 2015 Updated: June 13, 2016

The High Performance music assignments are guidelines for the HP skaters to have priority to train their program and sections with the music during the assigned sessions. The time only indicates the assigned session, not a reserved time their music is played. Coaches cooperate and share time. Coaches using a harness should look before they skate out from the boards to avoid collisions. Repairs to the Club s harnesses will be done by a staff coach volunteer (usually the staff coach who uses it the most or has a contact for specific type of repair) The staff coach submits receipts to club treasurer for reimbursement. Coaches are responsible for their own harness education.

4 The Board schedules annual maintenance. Update: 2/1/16 Effective: 1994 Pole Harness Policies Coaches are encourage to buy their own Pole Harness. St Paul FSC purchased one Pole Harness for staff coaches to share. Staff coaches cooperate and share time with Club s Pole Harness. Coaches using a Pole Harness should look before they skate out from the boards to avoid collisions. Repairs to the Club s Pole Harness will be done by a staff coach volunteer (usually the staff coach who uses it the most or has a contact for specific type of repair) The staff coach submits receipts to club treasurer for reimbursement. Coaches are responsible for their own Pole Harness education. Updated 2/1/16 Effective: 2001 Spinner Policies Staff Coaches may use off ice Spinner. Staff Coaches reserve time for the Spinner with Ann on GCal. Priority for schedule will go by level of staff coach and skater. Repairs to the Club s Spinner will be done by a staff coach volunteer (usually the staff coach who uses it the most or has a contact for specific type of repair) The staff coach submits receipts to club treasurer for reimbursement. Staff coaches are responsible for their own Spinner education. The Board schedules annual maintenance. Effective: 2016 Spinner Policies Staff Coaches may use off ice Spinner. Staff Coaches reserve time for the Spinner with Ann on GCal. Priority for schedule will go by level of staff coach and skater. No beverages or food on bench. Please reset Spinner to 20 and counter clockwise direction when finished. Please untwist rope when finished. Repairs to the Club s Spinner will be done by a staff coach volunteer (usually the staff coach who uses it the most or has a contact for specific type of repair) The staff coach submits receipts to club treasurer for reimbursement. Moves in the Field are not allowed on High Performance FS Sessions. Effective: 2005 Updated: Feb 12, 2016 Ice Dance Policy ALL YEAR One dance team skating per FS Session. Two dance coaches are allowed to teach per FS Session. (one team and one solo dancer or two solo dancers) Dancers must move for skaters in jump patterns & programs.

6 USFS & ISI Skaters can buy ice at the walk on rate without a club membership. To buy ice packages at a discount rate you must be a Home club or Associate Member. SCHOOL YEAR One Sectional dance team is allowed on the afternoon High Performance FS Session. (two week trial or 30 minutes of the hour session. Director and coaches work together to set HP FS) SUMMER 1. No dance teams are allowed on High Performance FS Sessions. Due to the evolving nature of competitive sport these policies will change with the times and hopefully ahead of the times :) Effective 2015 Revised 6/28/16 Dress Code Policy Coaches 1. Coaches must present a professional appearance at all times. 2. No: jeans, shorts, cutoffs allowed on the ice. 3. Staff Coaches are required to have a black jacket with St. Paul FSC embroidered on the back. Please ask the Director if you have questions. Skaters (Does not include Learn to Skate or Academy) Athletic apparel only on the ice Solid Black is the preferred training apparel for the following reasons: 1. Allows coaches to see the skater's line and form for correct positions, easier to make corrections quickly saving time and money. 2. Allows skaters to see their own line and form for correct positions in the mirrors, skaters may make their own corrections quicker saving time and money. 3. Eliminates the fashion/status contest." Saves money by keeping skaters and parents focusing time and financial resources on what is important, developing the athlete. Avoids wasting focus and money on who is the best dressed skater on the session. 4. St. Paul FSC Jacket: Solid black athletic jacket with St. Paul FSC embroidered in white and red or white across the back and the skater's name embroidered on the front. White embroidery is preferred as it is easily seen across the rink. Fun Friday is reserved for all club members to express their inner fashion couturier.

7 Effective 2002 Revised 01/2016 ETIQUETTE POLICIES The expectation at the St. Paul FSC is for all coaches, skaters and parents to work together to share the Pleasant Arena off ice and on ice spaces, in a respectful manner at all times. Cooperation & Sharing Policy 9:30am Saturday Session The expectation at the St. Paul FSC is for all coaches and skaters to work together to share the ice in a respectful manner at all times. The 9:30 am session is impacted by the club s Learn to Skate classes. These classes are important for the overall health and financial stability of the club. At 9:55am LTS Coaches will start to organize LTS by setting out cones along the boards. At 9:58am LTS Coaches will move cones across the ice. Coaches and skaters should plan accordingly to complete programs and big jump patterns before the last two minutes of the session. Coaches and skaters please be aware the cones will be on the ice. There is enough room for small jump patterns, turns and loops or spins for the last two minutes of the session. Update: 3/10/16 Effective: 2/1/2016 ARENA DESIGN POLICIES Established in 2004 when St Paul FSC moved to Pleasant Arena, the interior design of the Pleasant Arena is the responsibility of the Skating Director, Club President, and Ramsey County. Banner Policy The goals of the banners: Decorate and create a beautiful environment (so we are not training in a cement warehouse). Decorations should reflect our Vision Statement.

8 Decorations are to inspire skaters and their families to achieve the highest levels of performance and achievement available in USFS. To keep the standards and the bar high so skaters will aspire to jump over it!
