1 ICE SHOW SOLO REQUIREMENTS Requirements for April 2019 Qualification period March 1, 2018 February 28, 2019 The purpose of the NSC solo criteria is to determine skater s eligibility for a solo or group step out in the spring ice show. It is designed to encourage skaters to: Maintain National Sports Center as their ISI home program. Maintain Northern Blades NSC FSC as their USFS home club. Contract for National Sports Center ice. Participate in competitions Continue to progress through test levels.

2 Automatically qualifies for a solo ~ Option #1 Must submit the Solo Request Form Skaters must meet either 1, 2, 3, 4 1. Skater passing the US Figure Skating Novice Freeskate test and/or ISI Freestyle 7 test. 2. A graduating high school senior that has passed the US Figure Skating Juvenile Freeskate or ISI Freestyle 5 test by the ice show registration deadline, and skated in the past three ice shows (2016, 2017, 2018) 3. Placing 1 st, 2 nd, 3 rd or 4 th at the Minnesota State Championships; Final Round Well Balanced Free Skate Pre-Preliminary, Preliminary, Pre-Juvenile, Juvenile Levels 4. Placing 1 st, 2 nd or 3 rd at the Regional Non-Qualifying Competition; Well Balanced Free Skate events only (Initial or Final Round) Pre-Preliminary, Preliminary, Pre-Juvenile Skaters must meet all the requirements below in addition to one of the above requirements. 5. NBNSCFSC must be the skaters USFS home club by September 1, This only applies to skaters that are members of US Figure Skating. 6. NSC must be the skaters ISI home rink by September 1, The skater must be a member in good standing. 8. Compete a minimum of 3 competitions, details below o Frosty Blades 2019 (Entered in two events) If you are unable to meet the Frosty Blades requirement please know that you will need to plan ahead for an alternate option that must be pre-approved by the skating director. o One additional ISI competition (March 1, 2018 February 28, 2019) o Third competition may be an ISI or USFS competition (March 1, 2018 February 28, 2019) 9. Contract for a minimum of 4 sessions per contract period (contracted session must be at least six weeks in length). Fall 2018, Winter 2018/2019 and Spring Contract Ice. 10. Complete and turn in the ice show solo request form by 1/15/2019. The application must be filled out completely and late applications will not be considered. 11. Register for the Ice Show Freestyle group number (family, opening number and additional freestyle numbers do not meet the requirements). COSTUME & MUSIC FEE: There is a charge of $20 for music. The costume is the responsibility of the soloist. The costume must be approved by the NSC Skating Director.

3 Automatically qualifies for a solo ~ Option #2 Must submit the Solo Request Form US Figure Skating Freeskate gold medalist that is a senior in high school. The below are the requirements for a solo in the ice show. NBNSCFSC must be the skaters USFS home club when they passed the Senior freeskate and remain the home club through the current membership year, ending June NSC must be the skaters ISI home rink by January 1, The skater must be a member in good standing. Compete a minimum of 2 competitions (March 1, 2018 February 28, 2019) o Frosty Blades 2019 must be one of the competitions (entered in two events). If you are unable to meet the Frosty Blades requirement please know that you will need to plan ahead for an alternate option that must be pre-approved by the skating director. Passed ISI Freestyle 6 or US Figure Skating Intermediate Free Skate Eligibility Rules 1. NBNSCFSC must be the skaters USFS home club by September 1, This only applies to skaters that are members of US Figure Skating. 2. NSC must be the skaters ISI home rink by September 1, The skater must be a member in good standing. 4. Compete a minimum of 3 competitions (March 1, 2018 February 28, 2019) Frosty Blades 2019 (entered in two events). One additional ISI competition Third competition may be an ISI or USFS competition 5. Contract for a minimum of 4 sessions per contract period (contracted session must be at least six weeks in length). Fall 2018, Winter 2018/2019 and Spring 2019 Contract Ice. 6. Complete and turn in the ice show solo request form by 1/15/2019. The application must be filled out completely and late applications will not be considered. COSTUME: NSC will be ordering a coordinating outfit to match the group number. Costume fee is the responsibility of the soloist $30 - $60. Music fee of $20 ** Soloist will receive details with regards to music/theme and costume in January 2019 after all the paperwork and competition entries/placement are verified by the show Director **
