1 Dear Skaters: 15 th Annual Spring Ice Show at the RecPlex Ice Arena You are invited to participate in the Pleasant Prairie Skating School s 15 th Annual Spring Show, Happily Ever After. Come and be a part of the most exciting weekend at the RecPlex! This event showcases the talents of our Pleasant Prairie Skating School and Freestyle students. All ages and abilities can celebrate their skating accomplishments by performing for friends and family. This year, the RecPlex Ice Arena is excited to once again have a skater driven ice show! All skating participants will be allowed to put song suggestions in the Happily Ever After box for their group numbers, solos or duets. The directors will then select a song from the skater s suggestions to create the show. The registration deadline for Happily Ever After is Saturday, January 19 th, This deadline is SET and cannot be extended due to costume orders. When signing up for the ice show, please keep in mind that attendance for all rehearsals, technical and dress, as well as each performance is mandatory. Failure to attend any of these may result in being ineligible for the following year s performance. *Mandatory show and rehearsal dates* Rehearsal dates: Monday, April 29 th, 5:30pm Tuesday, April 30 th, 5:30pm Wednesday, May 1 st, 5:30pm Show dates: Friday, May 3 rd, 6:30pm Saturday, May 4 th, 5:00pm Sunday, May 5 th, 1:00pm (First half of show) (Second half of show) (Full Dress Rehearsal) ALL costume forms MUST be completed online prior to registering at guest services. You will need to bring your confirmation to show proof of completion at the time of registration. Below is the link to the costume registration form and payment plan options. *Volunteer Policy* ALL ice show families must fulfill 2 hours of volunteer time per ice show participant. A link to sign up for your volunteer job and times will be sent out via on Tuesday, February 5 th. All jobs will be filled on a first come, first serve basis. This link will remain open until Friday, March 22 nd. Participants that do not sign up or fulfill their 2 hours of volunteer time will be assessed a $40 fee. This fee must be paid in full prior to your first ice show rehearsal. If fees are unpaid, your skater will not be able to take the ice. Volunteer details and options are listed on page 5 of this packet. Attached you will find: the ice show rules, a costume form, a solo and duet try-out form, and a volunteer form.

2 Please read through all of this information carefully. Happily Ever After 15th Annual Spring Ice Show at the Recplex Ice Arena 1. All participants must be registered for Winter 1 and Winter 2 classes. 2. Skaters in Freeskate 1 & above must be registered for Winter 1 and Winter 2 classes OR purchase the Ice Show Freestyle Series Sales (Only skaters Freeskate 1 & up are eligible for this option). A 20-hour series sale must be purchased at the start of the Winter 1 session, $200 for members and $220 for non-members. The series sale will expire at the end of the Winter 2 session. This series sale will cover your class eligibility for both Winter 1 and Winter Attendance for ALL rehearsals and performances are mandatory. If it is absolutely necessary to miss one rehearsal please contact Katie Luburich at kluburich@plprairiewi.com. Each request will be handled on an individual basis. Mandatory dates are April 29 th, April 30 th, May 1 st, and all 3 shows on May 3 rd, May 4 th and May 5 th. 4. If you have an UNEXCUSED absence from a show or mandatory rehearsal, you will not be allowed to skate in the remaining ice show performances. In the event you choose not to skate in an ice show performance, your eligibility to skate in the next year s show will be at the discretion of the Figure Skating Coordinator, Katie Luburich. 5. Skaters MAY NOT have more than one excused absence. Skaters that miss two practices will not be eligible to skate the missed group number in the show. NO EXCEPTIONS WILL BE MADE!! 6. Tardiness of 15 minutes or more is to be considered an absence. 7. Skaters must skate in the costume selected by the Figure Skating Coordinators. Please be aware that some costumes may come ready to wear while others may need minor alterations. If alterations are needed they will be done at the skater s expense. 8. All skaters must stay in their assigned locker rooms during all Ice Show performances. Skaters that have numbers ONLY in the first half or ONLY in the second half may sit in the bleachers while they are not skating their half of the show. 9. Absolutely no eating or drinking while in costume or in the locker rooms. 10. Skaters in Intro to Pre-Freeskate & Up may also sign up for a Specialty Number. Skaters in Freeskate 3 & up may sign up for Opening Number and Specialty Number. Specialty Numbers and Opening Number are large group numbers. o Skaters MUST be enrolled in a Group Number in order to be eligible to sign up for Specialty Number and/or Opening number. o NEW OPENING Number structure Cast 1: Freeskate 3-5 skaters Cast 2: Freeskate 6-Preliminary skaters Cast 3: Pre-Juvenile and up skaters o Specialty numbers will be broken up as follows; Specialty 1- Intro to Pre-Freeskate Freeskate 2 Specialty 2-Freeskate 3-6 Specialty 3 Axel and up (axel MUST be consistently landed) Specialty 4- High school Skaters 11. Anyone wearing rental skates will be required to purchase boot covers from the Pro Shop.

Any skater participating in the Ice Show is required to be enrolled in a Winter I and Winter II Basic Skills skating class OR for Pre-Freeskate & up ONLY, have the option of purchasing the Ice Show Freestyle Series Sales for both Winter 1 and Winter 2. 4 Happily Ever After Solo and Duet Try-Out/Registration Form Try-Outs will be Sunday, February 4 th from 6:00-8:00am. Tryouts are CLOSED to all parents and spectators! New and Important Information Return this form to the Ice Arena Guest Services by 1/19/2019 Skaters must have passed Freeskate 5 as of Winter 1 to be eligible to tryout. Skaters must be enrolled in Winter 1 and 2 classes or purchase the ice show series sales. Skaters must select one of the 5 pre-selected songs and prepare a 1:00min tryout program. Music will be available beginning on January 14 th for pick up. Skaters must be registered to receive their tryout cd. Solo and Duet spots are limited and will be selected solely based on this tryout. Music will be assigned to skaters that earn a solo or duet. Skaters that do not receive a solo or duet spot will be assigned to a production number. Skaters that have competed at a qualifying level OR that have passed their Intermediate Freeskate test will be excused from tryouts! However, they must still complete this form and pay the $30 fee. No refunds will be given! 5 Dear Parents, Happily Ever After Spring Ice Show Volunteer Form Part of making our Ice Show so spectacular and seamless in operation is having parents like you volunteer! There is an area where almost anyone can use their gifts or talents to help make this the best show ever! A volunteer sign up link will be ed out on Tuesday, February 5 th through Friday, March 22 nd, ALL volunteer jobs will be filled on a first come, first serve basis. Participants that wish to opt out of volunteering or that do not sign up for a volunteer slot will be issued a $40 fee. This fee must be paid in full before the first ice show rehearsal, NO EXCEPTIONS! Below are some samples of jobs that will be offered. The bulk of our volunteer needs will be in creating, building and assembling the ice show set. If you are creative and willing, please do not hesitate to sign up for more than one volunteer slot. We also ask that everyone distribute 1-2 advertising posters to a local business or school in their area! 1. Costume alterations (1-2 volunteers) 2. Picture Day Assistant (6-8 volunteer slots) 3. Lobby Decorations and setup on Friday, May 5 th (4-6 volunteers slots) 4. Locker Room Moms (50+ volunteers slots) 5. Seating Usher-Show days (6-10 volunteer slots) 6. Spotlights-must work 1 show and 1 technical rehearsal (15 volunteer slots) 7. Curtain and prop set up on Sunday, April 29 th (10-20 volunteer slots) 8. Teardown on Sunday, May 6 th (6-10 volunteer slots) 9.
