No coaching is allowed during interpretive or stroking events. Uncaptured gliding maneuvers and Uncaptured jumps and spins may be performed as stated in the 2016 ISI Competitors Handbook. All competition rules will be in accordance with the current ISI Handbook in effect at the time of the competition. Should anything in the below summary rules not be clear, the 2016 ISI official publications will govern the events. Pre Alpha Delta Program Skaters will execute all required compulsory moves in a program with music. All skaters in Pre-Alpha through Delta must add one additional maneuver from Freestyle 1 to their program. In Delta, the skater has a Choice-of-One maneuver listed in the manual. This means that only

6 one maneuver should be performed. In case of misinterpretation of "Choice-of-One", the performance of the first maneuver will be judged. : 1 minute Freestyle 1-10 Program All skaters in Freestyle 1-10 are not permitted to perform any additional maneuvers from higher test levels. If a skater has passed one of the FS 5 9 tests prior to Sept. 1, 2016, and wishes to compete, the skater will be required to use the new level requirements. The Illusion is now an uncaptured move and may be performed at the Freestyle 1/ Bronze level or higher. In Freestyle 3, 6, 7 and 8 certain maneuvers are listed under Choice-of-One. This means only one of the maneuvers may be performed. If more than one is performed, only the first maneuver will be judged. Skaters who compete in the Freestyle 1 10 events can ALSO compete in the Open Freestyle event, as long as they compete at the correct level. See chart in ISI Handbook for additional information. Open Freestyle Skaters can participate in both Open Freestyle and Freestyle In Open Freestyle there are no required maneuvers, but skaters are limited to the jump elements listed below. At Skate Parade, skaters will be given a prop that corresponds with the music. *Coaches may not help their skater Compulsory Pre Alpha through Freestyle 10 There will be no music for Compulsory programs. For each level, the skater will perform only the 3 maneuvers listed below. Each maneuver may be performed or attempted only once. Additional maneuvers, such as any jump, spin or gliding maneuvers from any test level and any uncaptured moves are not allowed. This includes, but is not limited to: toe taps, lunges, bunny hops, pivots, etc. Compulsory events Pre Alpha through Freestyle 5 will be skating on half ice. Skaters will be assigned to the Zamboni end, or the Lobby end. There is no penalty for the quantity of swizzles, strokes, or crossovers in the Pre Alpha Beta levels. Solo Spotlight Pre Alpha Freestyle 10 Skaters may choose to enter one or more of the following categories, but different programs must be performed if entering more than one category. Skaters may use a prop. Character - the skater portrays a famous, easily recognizable character. Light Entertainment - the skater performs a light-hearted, vaudeville type program using music, dance and skating moves. A light entertainment routine can be a character, but does not always have to be. Dramatic - an artistic theatrical performance by individual skaters that evokes an emotional response from the judges and audience. The skater's interpretation should create a mood that is enhanced by the style, creativity, costuming and props (optional). The overall impression at the conclusion of the performance should be that it was a dramatic performance, not lighthearted as the light entertainment category. Artistic Skating Freestyle 1-10 There are no required maneuvers in Artistic Skating, but there are maneuver limitations. Emphasis should be placed on the creative and innovative design of a skating program. Strong edges, body positions, flow, music interpretation, rhythm, choreography and artistry should be the main focus. There is no grade for technical merit. Rhythmic Skating Freestyle 1-10 Rhythmic Skating will be offered for skaters in Freestyle This entertaining routine requires the use of a hand prop. The program should contain elements that employ the use of the prop throughout the program. The skater must maintain control of their prop at all times. Spotlight entrance and exit rules apply. Props will not be allowed on the warm-up. Skaters must choose only one of the following props: Hoop, Ball, or Ribbon. Jump & Spin Teams (sign up on the Individual entry form and list your partner name in the space provided) This fun event is for teams of two (2) skaters. The teams can be made up of two friends in the same level category, but not necessarily the same test level. Skaters may skate above their tested level, but cannot skate below their Category Level. Within each Category Level, a skater s choice is not restricted by her/his Freestyle test level. If two skaters from different levels wish to compete together, the jump & spin team will be entered into the highest level of the 2 skaters. Skaters who have only passed the Open FS test can enter this event but cannot skate below their corresponding category levels. Category Levels: Low: Pre-Alpha Delta Bronze: Freestyle 1-3 Silver: Freestyle 4-5 Gold: Freestyle 6-7 Platinum: freestyle 8-10 Required s: Low: Bronze: Silver: Gold: Platinum: Jump: Two Foot Hop or Bunny Hop Spin: Two Foot Jump: 1/2 Flip or Toe Loop Spin: Two Foot or One Foot Jump: 1/2 Loop or Axel Spin: Sit Spin or Back Spin Jump: Double Salchow or Double Toe Loop Spin: Flying Camel or Layback Jump: Double Loop or Double Lutz Spin: Camel Jump Camel One team of two (2) skaters enters the ice together and stops. After the second attempt, the second skater stops. The same maneuver is performed 2 times, but only the best attempt is scored. The maneuvers are only judged for

8 technical accuracy and not for the difficulty of the maneuver performed. Depending on number of entries, Low, Bronze, and Silver may be performed on 1/2 sheet of ice, with skaters assigned to either Zamboni end or Lobby end. Full ice will be used for all Gold and Platinum Teams. Teams will have a warm-up. Additional maneuvers and connecting steps are not permitted. is not judged, however, team duration is one minute.
