2 December 2 nd, :00pm Suburban Ice Macomb and the Onyx Suburban Skating Academy, will be hosting our 15th Annual charity ice show. The show will serve as a benefit performance for the Children s Hospital of Michigan. This will also allow our skaters the opportunity to display their talents and achievements they have accomplished throughout the year. The focus of the show will be on skaters at the preliminary and below level to give them the opportunity to shine. All Onyx-Suburban Skating Academy member skaters and Learn to Skate skaters are welcomed and encouraged to apply. All participants and volunteers 18 years of age or over are required to have background checks and be SafeSport Certified. ICE SHOW DATE AND TIMES: Sunday, December 2nd, 2018 at 3pm *Solos and Features will be able to warm up from 1:45-2:30pm prior to the show LOCATION: Suburban Ice Macomb APPLICATION DUE DATE: Friday, October 12th, address MUST be included on the application as all communication regarding the show will be communicated via GROUP NUMBER APPLICATION FEES AND INFORMATION: ALL ages and levels welcome (including Learn to Skate and OSA skaters) Group numbers will be arranged according to learn to skate level and/or freestyle level Due to large numbers of skaters being at the same free skate level other criteria, such as moves in the field level and age will be considered ONLY when deemed necessary. All such decisions will be made at the discretion of the skating director $80.00 application fee per skater for a Group Please make checks payable to: SUBURBAN ICE MACOMB Application fees will go toward costumes, ice cost and coaching fees There is a no refund policy ALL PRACTICES ARE MANDATORY GROUP REHEARSALS: Tentative Practice Times are below. 3 SOLO AND FEATURE APPLICATION FEES AND INFORMATION: Solo & Feature numbers are only for OSA students with an OSA coach SOLO and FEATURE numbers will be first come first serve Priority is on our no-test through preliminary skaters All Pre-Juvenile and up skaters are encouraged to turn in applications and will be added based on first come first serve (time stamped) if room is available Solo/Feature application payments for pre-juvenile and up will not be processed if you do not end up in the show OSA members have the option of applying for a solo OR feature number along with a group number The show will be limited to 36 solos and 36 features (18 of each per half) Features may be selected by the skaters and consist of two five skaters All feature applications must have matching names $35.00 application fee for solos $25.00 application fee per skater for features Please make checks payable to: SUBURBAN ICE MACOMB Solo and Feature skaters are responsible for their own costumes Application fees will go toward ice costs and decorations There is a no refund policy SOLO AND FEATURE REHEARSALS: There will be no specific practice time allotted for solo and feature rehearsals. All programs must be worked on during a skater s ice time Before an application is submitted, it must have a coach s signature agreeing to choreograph the routine Arrangements for choreography should be made with the skater s coach Parents are responsible for all coaching and ice time fees incurred MUSIC SELECTION FOR SOLO AND FEATURE: Skaters are responsible for the selection and cutting of their own music Starting on November 1st, music selections can be turned in to be approved by the skating director (on a first come first serve basis) No repeat titles may be used within the show; selections will be granted on a first come first serve basis. All final cuts must be submitted to Brenda Willhite by Friday, November 16th CD is required If final music is not approved and received by November 16th; your skater will be removed from the Holiday Spectacular show with no refund ALL MUSIC must be 1 minute 30 seconds in length TICKET PRICES: Admission will be granted to those who choose to make a minimum $5 donation to the Children s Hospital of Michigan or bring a gift to donate to the hospital for a child to pick out on Christmas morning.
