1 2019 WFSC SPRING ICE SHOW APRIL 26 & 27 SPECTACULAR SKATING CIRCUS ON ICE CLUB MEMBER - PARTICIPANT APPLICATION and CONTRACT Please fill out the requested information and return to Amanda Kovar, Letitia Ahrensback or put in the WFSC dropbox with payment IN FULL on or before February 20, Register early by February 6, 2019 and save $5. Any application submitted on or after February 21, will be subject to a $10.00 late fee. You can also check our Facebook page and website for show information. This method makes it easier to get information out to everyone at once. Sign up for the following show performance options: Production number: ( ) Free All WFSC Skaters may participate in the production number. Production number practices will be held during club ice (March 6-April 17). Please plan accordingly as skaters who miss more than one practice will not be able to participate. Solo Skater: ( ) $20.00 Skater s requirements: Skaters must have competed in Pre-Preliminary (Well Balanced) level or above to have a solo. Music/song selections will be made by the show director that fits with the theme and flow of the show. The theme of the show is character oriented so skaters will be assigned a particular character and costume. Costume costs will be at the skater s expense. Choreography and practice ice will be with the skater s coach at their own time and expense. Skaters may only choose 1 solo or step-out. Step-out (featured within a group number performance) ( ) $15.00 Skater s requirements: Skaters must have competed in No-Test level or above to have a step-out. Music/song selections will be made by the show director that fits with the theme and flow of the show. Choreography and practice ice will be with the skater s coach at their own time and expense. Skaters may only choose 1 solo or step-out. Group Numbers: ( ) $30.00 All WFSC skaters may participate a club group number (in addition to the production number). Skaters who have competed at No-Test/Pre Preliminary and above may skate in a group number as well as a step-out/solo. Skaters will be put into groups that reflect the theme and flow of the show. Groups will not be based only on level of the skater. Practices will begin the first week of March. Specific dates and times will be scheduled by the choreographer assigned to the group number. Group number assignments will be announced at the Ice Show launch party on February 27. Costumes will be assigned by the choreographer. Costume costs will be at the skater s expense. Skaters must inform their choreographer if they will be absent from practice. Skaters who miss more than one practice will not be able to participate. Parent s Signature Date Skater s Signature Date PARTICIPATION AGREEMENT We are excited that you have chosen to participate in the 2019 WFSC Spring Ice Show. We look forward to working with all of you to make this show a lot of fun and a big success. Please review the following regarding participation fees, rehearsals, and costumes. Then please sign and date this agreement and return to Amanda Kovar, Letitia Ahrensback or the Club Box, no later than Wednesday, February 20, Please note that a $10 late fee will be assessed to applications handed in past the February 20 deadline. DATES AND TIMES: This year s show is scheduled for Friday, April 26 and Saturday April 27, from 7:30-9:00 p.m. each night, followed by a Skate with the Stars public skate session from 9-10 p.m. All show participants are encouraged to stay and skate this session (in costume if possible) as we invite our audience to join us on the ice after both shows. We are excited about the new member/recruitment opportunity this public skate session adds to the value of our annual show. The Skate with the Stars session will be advertised as part of the show, and included in the price of the ticket. Skate rental is an additional $1. PARTICIPATION REQUIREMENTS: To participate in our show you must be a WFSC member. You have three choices/opportunities to participate in the show: 1) In a solo or step-out 2) In a group number, and 3) in the production number. You may choose one or all three of these options. To participate in a step-out/solo, you must be a first club member and have competed as a No-Test/Pre-Preliminary skater. Please see page one of show contract for step-out/solo requirements. A Group Number will be assigned to those who are not eligible for, or do not wish to sign up for a solo. Groups will be formulated and assigned by the show director; skaters will not be in groups according to level but by what is best for the theme of the show. Group number practices will be determined by the coach assigned to that number. Please keep in mind that you are only allowed to miss one (1) practice for group numbers. Solo program choreography is the responsibility of the skater. The Production Number is open to all WFSC members. We encourage everyone to sign up for the production number and a group number. All music is to be assigned by the show director; all music/character assignments will be final. MANDATORY DRESS REHEARSAL: There will be one mandatory dress rehearsal for ALL SKATERS participating in the show. The rehearsal will take place Wednesday, April 24 from 4:30 6:30 pm. You are required to be ready to take the ice when rehearsal starts. We cannot hold for anyone due to limited time. ICE FEES: You are required to pay for your own ice fees for all practices. Freestyle session fees are to be paid at the pro shop desk. SHOW FEES: The following is a list of show fees. All checks made payable to WFSC: Solo: $20 Step-out: $15 Group number: $30 Dress rehearsal: $10 Production number: no charge

3 All costume fees are the responsibility of the skater. Each soloist is responsible for a costume that is appropriate for their assigned music/character. Costumes for groups will be determined by the coach and the members of the group. Every effort should be made to keep costume costs affordable. PICTURE DAY: Photos for the show program will be taken during club ice (production number rehearsal) on the first night of practice. Skaters who miss picture day will not be featured in the program. 4 Please return with show application VOLUNTEERISM: The spring show presents many opportunities for volunteerism, which is a requirement for club membership. Our shows are made successful by a collaborative effort of parents, coaches, and skaters. Participation of all is needed and welcomed. Watch the bulletin board for a sign-up sheet for volunteer jobs for the show. Junior Club members are also encouraged to participate in show production, lighting, sets, choreography, and more. 5 FOR YOUR INFO: PLEASE KEEP GROUP NUMBERS: Once all applications are in, your skater will be assigned to a group number and coach. We will send out an with assignments and contact information once we have received all the applications. Your assigned coach will be your primary contact for all show-related questions and will contact you for show practice times. You may also contact the show coordinator Amanda Kovar with questions. Please notify your coach (show) if you are unable to attend a practice. You may not miss more than one (1) group practice.
