These companies often sold rasps and other tools as well. The material dates from 1835 to 1928, but the bulk of it is from the late nineteenth century. The materials are organized by name of company. Series 1, Manufactures and Dealers in Files, , relates to makers and sellers of files, primarily in the northeastern United States. A few are English. In addition to the variety of business ephemera cited above, several catalogues and price lists are present.
