Generation Schedule Hello everyone, it s almost expo time. That s right; the Branson Fly Fishing Expo is this month. This year s Expo is shaping up to be a dandy. Head lining both days is Davy Wotton, noted Arkansas guide and lecturer will be giving a presentation both days. Larry Wegman, will be giving his excellent presentation on midges and Mike George, noted deer hair sculpter will also be there. We will have casting demonstrations on both days and there is going to be a kids fishing day out at the hatchery!

3 Page3 Here is our current press release: Branson Fly Fishing Expo 2018 The Springfield and Branson Chapters of the Fishermen's Association will hold their second annual Fly Fishing Exposition this year on July 27th and 28th. It will be a celebration of everything fly fishing and it will be held in one of the premier trout fishing areas of the Ozarks, Branson, Missouri. We have a fine venue at the Branson-Hollister Lions Club Community Center at 1015 E. State Highway 76 approximately one mile east after you cross the bridge over Lake Taneycomo from the Landing Boulevard. We expect to have approximately 63 fly tiers demonstrating their skills, talking about flies, and sharing tying tips. We will have nearly 25 vendors and factory reps on hand to show you their products and make you a deal. We will raffle and auction off some fine tackle, nets, boots and waders, tackle bags, fly tying stations, artwork, signature flies, and more. One of our members Larry Wegmann will give a program about aquatic midges, of prime importance to our local tail water fishery. In addition to that, a very famous guide on the White River in Arkansas, Davy Wotton, will be on hand to present his program on fishing the White River! Also, another world famous fly tier, who specializes in sculpting deer hair, Mike George will be there to demonstrate his amazing deer hair flies. Adults can learn from fly casting experts demonstrating their skills on our casting pool. We're looking forward to a great Branson Fly Fishing Expo, and we hope we'll see you there! On Saturday, July 28, we will hold a Kid s Fishing Event for children 15 and under at the Shepherd of the Hills Fish Hatchery below the Table Rock Dam from 9 AM to 11 AM. Barney Fife will be there to help the kids and entertain them. Terry Sanders, five-time comedian of the year, will play the Barney character. Terry plays numerous comedic characters at both Silver Dollar City and the CJ Newsome Classic Country and Comedy show. A limited number of rods will be available, but feel free to bring your own. Mentors will be on hand to assist the kids. Note: If you plan to attend this great event, please make hotel reservations early. Follow us on Facebook and go to our website. Donations for Expo Raffle/Auction We will be accepting donations for Expo raffles/auctions at the July club meeting and the fish fry. If you don t have an item but wish to donate something, consider buying a gift certificate from a local fly shop for donation. If you can t make it to either of those meetings and want to contribute, call Bob Randall to arrange pick up. Speaking of Raffle Auction Items, the Expo committee, has been hard at work collecting items for this year s event.

9 Page9 Annual Fish Fry The annual club fish fry is this coming Saturday, July 14, at the Living Memorial Park in Springfield. Workers need to be there by 4pm. Dinner should be served at 5pm. I believe we have enough fish, potatoes and onions. The club will furnish water, ice, and tea. Please bring a side dish, salad, or dessert to share. If you have a box fan or pedestal fan with extension cords that you can bring, that would be great. We're going to need.them I have four burners, deep fry pots and propane. I only have three fry cooks lined up. I need one more, as well as, 2 or 3 helpers. If you are willing to volunteer for that, please contact me at or reply to this , and show up by 4pm.
