Introduction to our new President David Pyper was an inaugural member of Bob Stafford-Lee s under 18 team of 1981. David then played in all grades in the seniors before hanging up the boots in 1993.

2 Introduction to our new President David Pyper was an inaugural member of Bob Stafford-Lee s under 18 team of David then played in all grades in the seniors before hanging up the boots in He is the first President of the Club to come through the junior ranks. David played under numerous coaches at Old Colls, the two most memorable being Grant Grace and Hamish (Mini-Bus ) Cranna. After raising a family and establishing a land surveying business he returned to the club in His business Pyper Leaker Surveying Services have been sponsoring the club for the last 3 years and are very proud to be associated with the Club. David is married to Annie and has two daughters, enjoys playing rugby for the Crippled Crows, Touch football with the Red Hot Chillis and makes guitars in his spare time Training Commences!! Bartercard Cup Competition Training for Seniors will commence on Tuesday 31 st January at 6.30 pm 8pm. Thereafter each Tuesday and Thursday night; 6.30 pm 8 pm. On Tuesday 31st join us for a light training session followed by a Meet and Greet BBQ Bar will be open from 6.30pm. All club members welcome. Juniors - Summer Academy each Wednesday from 18 th January 22 nd February. First training session on Wednesday 1 st March commencing at 6.00 pm includes Come and Try session bring a friend!! Bartercard Cup Seniors Men and Women Round 1: Saturday 25 th March Elizabeth Rugby Club Round 2: Saturday 1 st April - North Torrens Rugby Club Round 3: Saturday 8 th April Onkaparinga Rugby Club Times to be confirmed. Participating players must be registered via Rugby link. More information will follow. More information to come later. Key Season Dates The first game of the 2017 Senior competition will be played on Saturday 22 nd April (Round 1). The Anzac Cup - a Home game at Tregenza, playing Onkaparinga. Competition Byes 10 th June and 15 th July Last game prior to finals will be played on 12 th August. Draws for all other grades to be confirmed. 3 Summer Academy 2017 DUE TO POPULAR DEMAND REGISTRATIONS HAVE BEEN EXTENDED Who can attend? - Under 8s to U18s, parents / guardians and brothers / sisters are all welcome. This is a great opportunity to bring a new friend to the club. When will it take place? - Old Collegians will be hosting 6 Academy Sessions on Wednesday evenings, running from Wednesday 18 th Jan to Wednesday 22 nd Feb The academy with culminate in a family beach touch rugby tournament on a date to be confirmed. What time? - Each session will run from 6pm to 7:30pm and will predominantly be held at Tregenza Oval, Booth Ave, Linden Park SA 5065, but we may vary the venue dependent on interest. What happens at the Academy? - Each session will be tailored specific to fitness, rugby oriented drills and of course plenty of fun games. A number of coaches will run each session. What if it s too hot? - If the temperature is or forecasted to be in excess of 35 degrees a notice will be posted on the Old Collegians Rugby Club Face book page to advice that the academy session will be cancelled. Will the club be open? - To get you back into the swing of Wednesday Nights at Tregenza the club and bar will be open. Is there a cost? - The cost for the 6 sessions, which will also include an Academy Singlet and Shorts will be $50-00/ participant. A small booking fee of 3.85% (incl. GST) will be charged by Ticketebo for your online registration. How do I join? - For those who have registered prior to 12th December 2016, your personalised singlet and shorts will be available by the start of the Academy on 18th January For registrations after 12th December, please note that your personalised merchandise will only be available during the course of the Academy and based on when you register. Please order your merchandise and provide us with your NAME which will appear on the chest of your personalised singlet. 5 Christmas Party A Fun time was had by all who attended the Christmas Function at Old Collegians. Father Christmas arrived on board a Ute and handed out bags of sweets to all the little ones! And I believe some older folks provided him with their wish list for Christmas.
