2 COUNTRY DEVELOPMENT TOURNAMENT (CDT) NEWCASTLE 2017 The CDT is a development event conducted by the BNSW Country Committee and will include players and coaches from NSW Country and NSW Metropolitan. The tournament will include: 1 to 2 games every day Daily team training and development sessions Lectures provided by qualified professional that will cover- nutrition, strength & conditioning, sports psychology, recovery techniques etc Presentations and training by elite guest coaches Teams will have only 8/9 players to maximize court time The sole focus of the CDT will be to provide players & coaches with a structured, competitive development opportunity that will include basketball & sport specific components. NSW will present the following teams: Under 15 Boys/ Girls Under 17 Boys/ Girls Players will participate in daily games, training and sport science sessions. The Team Camp concept will: Give our players/coaches a daily practice session to correct issues from the previous game as well as prepare for the next contest with a purposeful game plan. Provide a daily opportunity for players and coaches to review their previous performance via video Analysis and using the same medium to prepare for their next contest. Included in this segment would be an active recovery session plus sports science lectures. A daily game played under full FIBA rules. These games would be purposeful and aid both players and coaches with their strategic development. The team camp concept will provide us with a unique tool to develop our players and coaches knowledge in all aspects of the game. TOUR COST: The tour cost for CDT 2017 is $600 (including GST). This cost covers: - Accommodation - All meals - Reversible singlet and shorts - Training costs - Administration Fees - Fees for expert Consultants - Social Activities - T-Shirt Tour payment ($600) is required to be paid prior to Friday 9th December, 2016 If you have difficulty paying the full amount of $600 by Friday 9 th December, 2016, please contact Amy McGregor by ing nswcountrybball@gmail.com or phone to organise payment. 2

For travel to and from the event, players are expected to: 1. Arrange own travel or travel with fellow players to and from Newcastle OR 2. Listed below are the prices for each bus fare. Please note that the bus fare is a flat fee regardless of travelling one way or return. 4 CAMP DETAILS Camp Commences Sunday 8 th January 2017 CDT Commences 12.00pm Assemble at Newcastle Basketball Stadium, Young Rd & Curley Rd, Broadmeadow. Lunch will not be provided and players must come dressed to train. Sunday 8 th Team Training, preparation and sports science, players allocated to teams Camp Program Continues Monday & Tuesday 8 th & 9 th January 2017 Camp Concludes Wednesday 11 th January 2017 CDT concludes 3.00pm after final games. TOUR FORMAT NSW will nominate four teams in all age groups, U15, U17 Men and Women. NSW Country Teams Male teams: Hawks, Kings, Wildcats, Tigers Female Teams: Flames, Lightning, Spirit, Waves. NSW Metro Teams Male teams: Metro & City (Under 15 Men Only) Female Teams: Metro All players must arrive at the Newcastle Basketball Stadium by 12.00pm on Sunday 8 th January, 2017 dressed to train. Coaches and Officials: Requested to be at Newcastle Basketball Stadium 10.30am Sunday 8 th January MEALS: All meals will be provided. Please see checklist of items to bring. (See exception Sunday all players must have lunch before arriving at the camp). 4

5 HEALTH & MEDICATIONS: Players who have special health problems (eg asthma), or who require any medications during the tour are to advise their respective coach/manager of this when the teams assemble. All player medications must be carried in clearly marked containers. Players are not to share any prescribed medications. Management will provide non-script medication where applicable. INJURIES: In previous years players have attended the tour with existing injuries. This resulted in them being either sent home or declared unfit for competition. Injured players are advised to withdraw from the tour. Players eligible for State Team selection will not be disadvantaged if they withdraw due to injury. If required, a Physiotherapist will be made available during the tour at the cost to the individual.
