Apologies Shirley Jefferson BYP, Linda Cornwall, Murray Watt, Janet Mcculloch, Carol Hamilton, Carol McGeoghegan, David Dempster. 2. Minutes of previous meetings 2. The minutes for inaugural meeting were approved. Proposed by WG, 2 nd LA. Action by: 2.1. Matters arising 3. Adoption of the Constitution/Code of Conduct 2.1 None. All present signed to agreed to ECC Code of Conduct. AGREED to leave remaining space on ECC for proposed co opted members CM and DD. to follow up Cllr s and co-opted members not present. AM prosed by as secretary. 2 nd by LA. AGREED to change name to Eyemouth Community Council (ECC). AGREED 8 meetings per year rather than 10. Sub group meetings over and above this count. 4. New Files and Info presented information folders for each Cllr. to add contacts as we go. LW shared EHQ contact as follows; Douglas Stewart eyemouthherringqueen@hotmail.co.uk. to add to folders. 5. Police Report WG reports he has not received a Police report. informed the group the area Police Officer has moved on. / to seek new Police contact. asks to report any incidents to the Police in the meantime., 6. Chairperson s Report states that communication has been good with SBC since ECC reinstated. Good links with Pauline Bolson.

2 ECC has a Facebook page to share information. This is not open to the public. asks to share info on this forum. Bank a/c opened and money to be transferred in ECC a/c. 7. Secretary s Report AM has accessed the ECC . This is now up to date. Neil McMurdo holds the on his BT account. He would prefer this to be transferred. AGREED for AM to look into new host for Treasurers Report Unavailable due to ill health. 9. SBC Cllr s Report Helen Laing HL is in communication with SBC re: speeding issues around Coldingham Rd, Victoria Rd and in Deanhead Estate. HL will report back at the next meeting. urges Cllrs to raise speeding concerns with Police Scotland. LA and LW to report issues to Police Scotland. to share Police Scotland contacts. suggests that Special Constables may play a role in addressing the issue. HL is communicating with Darren Silcock (DS) re: Play park equipment, Church St. flooding and coop car park. HL will report back at the next meeting. will continue to share info re: timeline for road improvement plans. Eyemouth Bridge is scheduled for work Oct/Nov. asks to continue raising road issues to raise the urgency with SBC. to contact Paul Matheson (SBC) to arrange a time to look at roads. to provide JA with list of roads in need of repair. Jim Fullerton Woodland potentially available for ECC to take ownership. to contact Jim Knight to discuss this further. AM LA, LW, HL Old Market shed (SPLASH Space). Work due to be completed advises this is taking longer than expected but work is underway.

3 EHS working closely with Eyemouth Rotary. EHS increased numbers coming over the Border from Berwick Upon Tweed. Berwickshire Area Partnership meeting 6.30pm Duns Chamber. Previous funding provision approx , increased by a further Themed funding. to send further detail. to promote fund amongst community group., 10. Planning 10.1 Retrospective planning permission for DR Collin & Son. AGREED Albert Road planning permission. AGREED. 11. Walking Festival states held in ECC a/c. Profit from Account last walking festival. Previous minute states that this should be used for like minded activity. proposes David Dempster use this to promote/carry out healthy living activities in the area, 2 nd by WG. to seek approval from Pauline Bolson. 12. Church Street WG seeks guidance as some members are yet to Action Group have a No Return Flow Value. /WG to contact Scottish Water. Meeks Yard fence still needs attention. will contact SBC 13. Sub Groups Enhancement Group JA is working on the map which will indicate local resources, amenities and leisure facilities. JA to identify which local businesses are paid to allow public use of their toilet facilities. JA and DRC are to look into mapping local walks to include in this. HL suggests Mike Marse can assist with the production of the leaflet. Paths DRC has had difficulty getting quotes to clear local footpaths on the walking trails. to speak with SBC Criminal Justice, Darren Silcock and may place Berwickshire News advert to gain quotes to carry this work out., WG JA JA, DRC Access to Gillsland from the side footpath is very dark. No overhead lighting.

Many walk their dogs on this route. to speak with Darren Silcock as ECC won a bin and collection for Town Tidy Play parks Repeated vandalism in the Deanhead park, including litter and broken glass. Young people are using the area at night to socialise. asks to report incidents as regularly as necessary to Police Scotland. LW will check for lighting in the park as it can seem dark and if made lighter - may deter antisocial behaviour available for play park equipment at the new Acredale Estate. LA to arrange public consultation. HL advises BHA will show plans for future stages of development in the area at the following public consultation; Duns SBC offices. 2 5pm Drop in 6 8pm presentation/evening session. LA to attend. 14. AOB Access/parking on Lairds Hill. Overgrown bushes on one side, cars parking on both sides and two disabled parking bays close together cause traffic issues. This causes difficulty for the bin lorry and emergency services needing to access the street. to discuss with Darren Silcock and BHA. to raise issue of emergency service access with SBC. Cigarette ends on the front are unsightly. has contacted SBC and they state they will not fund cigarette bins. to speak with Darren Silcock to check whether SBC would empty the bins if purchased by a 3 rd party. AM to write letters to local businesses to ask if they would purchase the bins and JW will deliver. This will be actioned after response from SBC. LW LA LA AM, JW
