2 What is the Brew? What is the Brew you might ask? The Brew is your one stop shop for all things NAKID. It recaps the fun events of the week and provides you with all the information you need to have the best NAKID experience as possible. Enjoy pictures, awards, interviews with fellow NAKIDs, upcoming events and much more! Stay tuned because you never know what we have up our sleeve...and who knows you might find yourself featured in an upcoming brew! The Brew is meant to be interactive, so please feel free to use facebook, talk to your captains or one of the many people here to help you (page 5) to contact us. V O L U M E 1, I S S U E 1 Flip Cup 101: When was Flip Cup started? Did it start with George Washington s army at Valley Forge or is it traceable all the way back to the Egyptians?

3 V O L U M E 1, I S S U E 1 Flip Cup 101: When was Flip Cup started? Did it start with George Washington s army at Valley Forge or is it traceable all the way back to the Egyptians? This origins of this life altering sport may never be truly known...but one thing is for sure, flip cup is a time honored game of daring, precision, courage and bravery. Only those true of heart and fond of the sweet, sweet nectar of the gods dare to play. If you see a team performing actions such as slapping each others hands in the air or making loud noises out of the opening in their faces do not be afraid, for they may have just won a truly epic battle of this heroic game. How does one play you might ask? It would be our pleasure to explain it to you. Step One: Fill your cup with a liquid. Acceptable liquids include: beer, water, or a mixed drink. Unacceptable liquids: liquid nitrogen, rain, drano and spit. Keep in mind these games have been known to last awhile, so watch how much you pour. It may not seem like a lot, but it could be the difference between being buzzed or introducing your face to the floor the hard way. Step Two: When it is your turn you bring the cup to the breathing vestibule called your mouth and swallow it. Step Three: Return your cup to the table and use one hand to flip the cup over so that it lands upside down. (One method to reduce your overall time is to use your non-flipping hand to retrieve the cup if you miss.) Step Four: Celebrate because you have successfully flipped a cup!! If playing with a team the next person would repeat steps 1-4 until everyone has flipped. Keep an eye out for the One Flip Bandana. Anyone can have the honor of winning this truly momentous prize. If you see someone with this bandana, feel free to challenge them to a flip cup game with 3 cups each. The first person to win two games wins the round! Once someone has successfully beaten 5 different challengers they are the One Flip Champion of the week and get their picture here in the Brew! 3

Head First Into Third has been in NAKID since Their current captain, Michael described their team as the most fun in the entire league. People may join this team because of their inappropriate name, but that s not the only fun thing about this team. The players enjoy the team so much that they have created their own hashtag.#hfitfamily (HFIT being the short hand for Head First Into Third). One thing is for sure, this team is one exciting family! If you see them at the bar, come say hi to some of these fun loving kids. Upcoming Events. False: You are allowed to not wear your shirt once per season. 3. A. While it may be fun to wear those flip flops all day everyday, it is a requirement to wear closed toe shoes to the games. 4. True: If a player is abusive to players, referees, or spectators they are subject to being ejected, suspended or removed from the league. 5. True. Each team that is refereeing is only required to have 8 people referee. 6. D. Your head is important in life and therefore not a target. 7. False: Drinking on the mall is strictly prohibited. 8. While both A and D are perfectly acceptable, please do B first. Captains need to know who can and cannot show up in order to prepare for the games and insure that there are enough people to play. 9. False: You cannot pick and chose which parts of the game to play. If you are not able to participate fully you must sit out.even though we applaud your enthusiasm! 10.
