2 DREAM IT DO IT PLAY IT Rugby is a global game Our goal is to provide players with opportunity to play / coach at amateur / pro levels We send promising players (18 years and older) or coaches on an Exchange program to overseas Clubs / Academies While overseas players come to us at another time This allow players / coaches and clubs to find each other Inter-cultural rugby is a great experience of international rugby!

3 WHY GO OVERSEAS? Player development: Get ahead with pre- or offseason training; or develop specific aspects of your game. Experience different coaching techniques / styles Opportunities: Believe you have what it takes. (possibility of selection for certain teams that you may not have in your country, internship or scholarship) Life Experience: Experience other places and cultures!

4 HOW IT WORKS Experience a new rugby culture in the most natural way possible Not as tourist or visitor, but as part of a team and culture Placed with a suitable Club /Academy to challenge yourself Spend minimum 3 months living and playing / coaching rugby overseas Player stays student of Rugby Academy - can get permission to stay longer

6 STELLENBOSCH RUGBY ACADEMY Therefore we have certain guidelines that must be met: Values: Good discipline and work ethics with honesty and humility on and off field Good conditioning and key skills in their position to add value to overseas Club in terms of their playing level, enthusiasm and leadership Mature enough to adapt to new environment and culture Negotiate Agreement with Club Get info about league, head coach, facilities, etc. Assists player or club with admin matters, logistics Keep contact on regular basis

7 THE CLUB After our final discussion with Club, the Club will provide a formal Agreement explaining specific aspects in more detail: Duration Training and games (insurance, transport, fees) Study Club kit Flight costs Welcoming (pick up at airport, orientation) Accommodation Create favourable conditions (gym) Food / meals Goals meet Head coach Assist player to obtain partguides / assists player during program time income

8 THE CLUB Take note: Spending money and flight costs will be for the player s account (assistance can be considered depending on needs of club, player or coach) No guarantees that you will be accepted. Each club has its own requirements Be respectful to housing, families, neighbours, housemates Be respectful, positive and hardworking in the day job be obtained via Club Take care of health and avoid unnecessary injuries Stay fully rugby fit, attend all practices and matches when not injured Play according to the guidelines of coaching staff - avoid yellow and red cards Show full respect to coaching staff, team management

9 PLAYER The player must be an example on and of pitch for his team mates and younger players who will look up to him. He will be a true ambassador for the Club. Valid Passport for at least 6 months after you return from trip Selected by SRA (attendance, behaviour, results, finances up to date, club s needs) Subscribe for program by handing in CV, rapport, video Formal interview by Skype or phone call Host club send you a formal Invitation letter You accept the Invitation of the host club Do travel arrangements (passport, visa, air ticket) Get rugby documents (SARU Clearance). Return-to-Play doc, drug test (urine) Travel! You have an arrival orientation in your host Club Live the Rugby Experience!! Keep us updated regularly
