3 Autoline SelectFish System Mustad Autoline develops and supplies technology to the world s line fishing fleet. Autolining is an environmentally friendly catching method which also preserves the quality of the fish. We in Mustad Autoline are continuously working on new and innovative solutions, so that more fish can be caught by hook and line. Automation Baiting, coiling and handling longline gear was done by hand until the early 1970s when Mustad developed the Mustad Autoline System that mechanised the whole operation of longline fishing. The system handles the whole process from baiting, setting the line, hauling the line, hook cleaning and storage of the line and hooks. The Mustad Autoline System is tailor made for each boat. 4 Autoline SelectFish System Mustad Autoline has developed a state of the art automated longline fishing system designed to fill the needs of vessels from approx. 35 to 100 feet, the compact Autoline SelectFish System. Features and benefits The innovative Autoline SelectFish technology is based on a robust and smart mechanism that separates the snoods from the main line. The snoods are automatically attached to and detached from the mainline by a plastic ball and clip system during setting and hauling. The snooded hooks with clips are stored on separate magazines for easy storage and handling, while the mainline is efficiently spooled onto drums. The Autoline SelectFish system can automatically operate monofilament lines down to ø3mm and/ or polyester lines up to ø5,5mm. This makes the SelectFish system very flexible, and selective gear can easily be applied according to season and other conditions. The snooded hooks are automatically attached to and detached from the mainline by a plastic ball and clip. The snooded hooks with clips are stored on separate magazines for easy handling and storage while the mainline is spooled onto space saving drums. Limited manual handling is needed to operate the full Autoline SelectFish System. The lines are stored directly on the drums which makes it space efficient and eliminates the problems with tangling of lines and snoods. The vessel can carry several drums depending on the storage capacity of the vessel, and they can easily be loaded and unloaded by the crew. snoods, clips and hooks in order to avoid tangling. For example no more heavy loading of land baited fishing tackle. The longline vessels using Autoline SelectFish System are cost efficient. The catches is of excellent quality which gives the fisherman an opportunity to get a better price. Longlining is a passive and sustainable fishing method. The sea bed will not be damaged, and the impact on the eco system is minimal. The drum unit can be loaded and unloaded from both sides, which eases the process of changing drums. It has a proportional hydraulic system with a robust and concealed electronic control system. The magazines are produced in extruded aluminium. This minimizes the weight and makes it easy to handle on board. The magazines, with a capacity of 120 hooks each, are designed in a way that locks the

Description of the units The SettingUnit Clip Connector Coastal Baiter Line Setter The SettingUnit automatically attaches the snooded hooks to the main line, cuts the bait, baits the hooks and sets the line at a max speed of 180 hooks/min. The HaulingUnit Main hauler SF V315 with hook cleaner Hauling unit with hook separator and clip disconnector The main hauler pulls the gear from the sea over the rail roller and into the boat. The fish is then automatically released and the hooks pass through the hook cleaner, which cleans it by means of brushes. The gear is then passed on through the guide pipe leading to the hook separator. The second hauling unit automatically detaches the snooded hooks from the mainline at a speed of 30 hooks/min.
