5 Membership Information Membership period is from the 1st of November through to the 31st of October the following year. Fees are due from the 1st of November and must be paid by 30 November. Myrtleford Golf Club uses the Golf Link system and members are required to have their Golf Link card with them on competition days. 7 Competitions Men s Club Championships This is a stroke event contested over 54 holes. The event is open to all full, country and junior members who are financial. A junior is considered to be 18 years or younger at the first of January of that year. All grades top 4 from each grade qualify for club match play championships. The top 6 in each grade will be in a seeded draw on the last round of championships and Graded on the first Round. If a tie exists after 54 holes, a stroke play sudden death playoff will be played on holes 1,10 and 18 until a winner has been declared. Scratch Club Match Play Champion The top four players from each grade will play a match play event. The semi final round will be played over 18 holes for A, B, C and D grades and the final will be played over 36 holes for A grade and 18 holes for all other grades on a specified date. Players who have qualified for the match play competition may withdraw at their request. In such cases where this occurs, the next eligible player will qualify to fill the vacancy. Monthly Medals The monthly medal winners will be the player with the lowest handicap score of the day, if there is a tie a count back will be done on the day to decide the winner. Rigoni 4 Ball Championships Best 2 score from 3 rounds the top 8 teams qualify for the match play rounds. If a count back is required the teams that play all qualifying rounds have preference over teams that only play 2 qualifying rounds. The count back is done on the last qualifying round. All qualifiers for the match play rounds must be available for all rounds. If unavailable, players must inform the match committee before the first round. Failing to do so will result in 8

8 disqualification at the match committees discretion and the matches will be re drawn. Ian O May Handicap Singles Shield Best 2 score from 3 rounds the top 8 players qualify for the match play rounds. If a count back is required the players that play all qualifying rounds have preference over players that only play 2 qualifying rounds. The count back is done on the last qualifying round. All qualifiers for the match play rounds must be available for all rounds. If unavailable, players must inform the match committee before the first round. Failing to do so will result in disqualification at the match committees discretion and the matches will be re drawn. Use of Carts in board events Players are required to supply a medical certificate if they wish to use a motorized cart for any board event Heat Policy Should be maximum forecast temperature* at 6 pm on the evening before the day of the competition be 40 degrees or more, all members, guests and visitors wishing to play in the day s competition must tee off before 8.30 a.m. The course will remain open for non-competition play for players who may play at their own risk. Should the event of the day be of a significant nature e.g. Board or Medal event, the event will be transferred to a date to be determined. * Source either Bureau of Meteorology (BOM) or Tafco weather site for Myrtleford. Suspension of play Play will be suspended if an electrical storm is imminent. A siren will sound and players are advised to vacate the course until an all-clear siren has sounded. It is the decision of all players as to what course of action they take. 9

9 Men s Duty Roster Men are required to do duty roster on Saturdays. The 1st person named in the program book is responsible to organise their duty team. During Oct 1 st to March 31 st duty is to be done from 8.00 am in the office and the bar thru the day until 5.00 pm. April 1 st to Sep 30 th 9.30 am 5.00 pm. If you can t do your turn it is YOUR responsibility to find someone to swap with. Count back procedure 18 Holes (or last round in competition) Count back starts on the last 9 holes in the following order: 1 st Count back Last 9 2 nd Count back Last 6 3 rd Count back Last 3 4 th Count backs Last 1 (then hole for hole until one player is found to have a lesser stroke score than his/her opponent). Handicaps Myrtleford Golf Club uses the Golf Link system and members wishing to obtain a Golf Australia handicap must submit 3 cards in accordance with the Australian men s handicapping system. In order to obtain a current Women s Golf Australia (WGA) handicap, 3 cards need to be submitted. Players will receive a Golf Link card which allows them to enter competitions. Etiquette/Slow Play Slow play is a major concern and it is essential that all players are aware of what is happening around them. It is the responsibility of the low marker in each group to maintain their place on the field. 10

10 Walk quickly between shots Be ready to play when it is your shot Do not take more than one practice swing Do not mark your card whilst on the green. If you are first on the tee, hit first then mark your card later Try to hole short putts, unless you will be standing on another player s line Do not leave your golf bag on the side of the green. Always leave it to the side nearest the next tee If there is a clear fairway in front of you, your group is too slow Motorised carts Players rent carts at their own risk and are responsible for any damage to the cart Persons must be 18 years of age or older To prevent possible serious injury, drivers and passengers must keep their entire bodies within the vehicle To prevent falls from the vehicle, remain seated when the vehicle is moving, hold onto handles/handrails at all times The vehicle must be operated from the driver s side only Do not drive under the influence of alcohol, drugs or medications that adversely affect your ability to drive or react Report to the club any accidents that may occur while using your golf cart. To prevent overturning of vehicle, drive slowly while turning the vehicle. Only two persons are allowed in the cart at any time The cart must be returned to the clubhouse by the person who rented it 11

11 Club House Alcohol The clubhouse bar will be open on Saturdays from 10.30am to 12.30pm, reopening at 3.00pm in the afternoon. BYO is not permitted on the course. Functions Functions at the clubhouse can be booked through Club Secretary, Gill Piggott on Conditions apply. Winner s Vouchers Vouchers must be used within the year of issue.
