Apologies were received from John Ward, Aidan O'Sullivan, Hal McElroy, Eamon Kelly, Noel Barrett,John O'Connell, Kevin Murphy, Meridith Talbot and Brian Fitzgerald. The captain invited Rev. Leslie H Bryan to open proceedings with a prayer for deceased members. The minutes of the AGM held on 4 th November, 2014 were taken as read and had been available on the Club website for the requisite duration. Proposed by :Ted Curtin. Seconded by: Chris Cronin. Hon Secretary Report November 2015 I wish to thank my fellow Committee members for their collegiate and co-operative approach during the year. It was a busy year on the teams front where we reached two Munster semifinals and the Final in the Fred Daly. At the West Cork Clubs AGM last December we agreed to a new three year rota with a qualifying round for both Senior and Junior West Cork Shield Competitions. This was agreed unanimously by all the Clubs in an effort to facilitate the timely completion of the competitions and also to manage the potential expenses involved for Clubs. Also a big thank you to the various team Managers and teams that represented the Club in competitive action during The following is a summary of reports from the Managers and the outcomes for the teams: Barton Shield, Junior Cup and Senior Cup managed by Moss O Leary and Robbie McCarthy Kinsale played Youghal at Muskerry in the Barton shield. This proved to be a very tight match. We were unlucky to lose at the 2nd extra tie hole. In the Senior cup we played a very experienced Cork team at Fota, and even though our team played very well, it was not to be on this occasion. We are very lucky to have some great young players in our Club at the moment and we have no doubt they will bring great honour to Kinsale GC in the next few years, where apennant in either in Barton Shield or Senior Cup is very achievable. In the Junior Cup, Kinsale played excellent golf against Bantry and won 3/2 on the morning of July 4th, unfortunately they came up against a decent home team Macroom in the afternoon and were beaten4:1. West Cork Senior Shield. Managers Gerry Waldron and Pat Higgins This competition was run on April 18th in Berehaven GC. The format was four ball better ball off 3/4 handicap with 4 cards to count. Max handicap of 9. There were 6 teams present with the top 2 teams qualifying for the semifinal. With this format in mind we selected high handicap golfers to give us the best chance of qualifying. The day proved to be very difficult with very high winds and preferred lies. Each pair performed very well and at the end of the day we were 1 point short of qualifying for the semifinal. We would like to thank the panel for their efforts on the day and for making the effort to play a practice round in Berehaven. Jimmy Bruen Shield managed by Peter Jones, Ted Curtin and Eugene O Callaghan Jimmy Bruen this year was played in Blarney GC. We played Fermoy in the first round and beat them 4-1. We played Lee Valley in the afternoon and in a close game Lee Valley came out on top 3-2. Thanks to all the team members for the effort and time they put into practice. Pierce Purcell and West Cork Junior Shield, Managers: Brian and John O Neill and Pat Higgins The campaign started about two weeks before Christmas with a home and away match against Fernhill. Starting with a panel of about 28 players, this was eventually reduced to 16 for the Junior West Cork Shield which was played in Skibbereen in April. While we lost out by three points inthe four-ball better ball

qualifier, we found strong pairings for the Purcell. We played eight challenge matches coming up to the Purcell, winning seven and losing one. The Club put in a great effort in hosting the Purcell qualifier in May where webeat Muskerry, Lee Valley and Lisselan to qualify for the Cork Area final. All matches were won on a 4:1 scoreline and the excitement and celebration on the Sunday afternoon went on well into the evening. Next up was the Cork final in Lee Valley versus Cobh. After a good start and a number of momentum swings we finally got through on the 20thand were heading for a Munster Semi Final in East Clare in July. With seven weeks to prepare for Bodyke the team travelled to Bodkye for a number of practice rounds. The team threw their weight behind the Club Fundraising Classic in early July while also spending some long days travelling to East Clare. The semifinal against experienced Purcell players from Newcastlewest started well but we lost our way and momentum around the turn. We were beaten 3.5:1.5 in the end. We believe this team can win the Pierce Purcell, but as in any sport it takes a huge effort to get over the line. We the Team managers would like to thank the Club for the opportunity we got over the last couple of years;ithas been a great journey. McEvoy Shield Manager Noel Barber This was played in Bandon on the 8thAugust and we acquitted ourselves well in finishing as Runners Up on the day. JB Carr, Jimmy Carroll and Michael Minihane Team Managers Edmund O Sullivan and Dan Hurley We had a good run in the JB Carr beaten by Kanturk inthe Cork area final. Unlucky to have to play in Kanturk, that went to the final hole of the last match. In Michael Minehane we had four very good scores, normally good enough to win, but on the day Blarney at home had an excellent performance. In the Jimmy Carroll we made semis play off with East Cork, again away. Unfortunately we could not field our strongest team, due to some selection clashes with the Pierce Purcell. Overall a good and enjoyable year. Mixed Foursomes managed by Kieran and Ann Daly Played on 13thJune in Skibbereen. We introduced 3 new players this year to our squad and they integrated very well. Our opening Match was against our old foe Bandon and our Team played superbly and won 4-1. That afternoon we had to play the home Team Skibbereen, a thrilling match ensued, unfortunately our last pairing missed a winning putt on the last green and we ended with a team loss of 3-2.Skibbereen went on to the Area final. The standard of golf played throughout was a joy to watch. Again we were close but not close enough. As team managers Kieran and Ann wish to thank each and every member of the Mixed 4s squad. Juvenile Golf: Thanks to Ger Cullinane for presenting a very detailed report for the Parent Club AGM. The following is an extract from that report for the purposes of this meeting has been a very successful one for the Juvenile/Junior members of Kinsale Golf Club. Three junior members: John Murphy, Cathal Butler and Gary Ward have achieved top three finishers in national competitions over the summer months, the same three players all finished in the top eight in the Boys Order of Merit National League. The eight-man Munster under 18 team featured three Kinsale Golf Club players: John Murphy,Cathal Butler and Mark Healy. Gary Ward was the non-traveling reserve for the team. Cathal Butler: represented Ireland in the Home International Matches finishing the week as Irelands highest scorer winning five out of six matches. John Murphy: has recently been named on the Irish Boys Squad for 2016, John has also been named as the Munster Junior Golfer of the year for 2015.This is the second consecutive year that the award has gone to a Kinsale Golf Club player. Cathal Butler received the award in Mark Byrne: was selected to play on the Cork Boys under 13 team.

Team events for Juvenile Members in Kinsale Golf Club Kinsale Golf Club takes part in four juvenile team events, these were as follows: West Cork Shield Harbour Shield Trophy Fred Daly National Trophy Junior Foursomes National Trophy West Cork Shield/Harbour Shield: At Kinsale Golf Club we use these two competitions to give as many players as possible to play team golf for the club. Any player who has a handicap of 23 or lower is invited to express an interest in playing for the club. The Harbour Shield format is a combination of foursomes and singles and it is our policy that we pair players playing for the club for the first time with a more experienced player in the foursomes to gently introduce them to inter club match play. West Cork Shield: we played Skibbereen on a home and away basis and Skibbereen progressed to the next round. Harbour Shield: Five games were played in the Harbour Shield four at home and one away, Harbour Shield is broken up into two groups of five clubs in each group, and the top club in each group plays off for the final. Unfortunately we did not reach the final, but, the players who represented Kinsale Golf Club did so with distinction and a lot of experience was gained through these games. In total thirty one players represented Kinsale Golf Club in the West Cork Shield competition and in the Harbour Shield competition. It is club policy not to play any individuals who were involved in the Fred Daly Panel and the Junior Foursomes Panel, in these competitions. Fred Daly: The Fred Daly is the junior equivalent of the senior cup with all matches played off of scratch. Kinsale Golf Club progressed to the Munster Finals of same by beating the following clubs in the early rounds: Douglas Golf Club, Blarney Golf Club and Fota Island Golf Club, in the Cork Area Final. We played the Munster Finals in Dungarvan Golf Club in August last, we beat Limerick in the Munster Semi Final, and unfortunately we lost to Mallow in the Final the score line at 4:3. The teams shirts on the daywere kindly sponsored by Mr.Kieran Daly, Douglas Forrest & Garden Centre, Frankfield, Cork. Junior Foursomes: We qualified for the match from the Stroke play competition played at Easter Weekend (April) at Cobh, progressed to the Cork Area Final where we played Monkstown at Douglas Golf Club. Monkstown Golf Club were successful on the day who progressed to the Munster Finals. Meetings and Attendance: The Men scommittee met 11 times during the year and attendance was as follows: Captain Micheál Landers 11, Vice-Captainand Hon Sec. Declan O Flynn 9, Comp Sec Des Fitzgerald 10, Handicap Sec. Joe Kennedy 10, Treasurer Tim Smyth 9, Aidan O Sullivan 6, Chris Cronin 9, John Horgan 9, Richard Heffernan 10, James Robinson 8, John Ward 10. 5 Competition Secretary s Report was a very busy competition year, the total number of competition entrants for the whole club for the year was a staggering 13,736. Well done to all the Winners and participants in all our Competitions. Thank all the Committee members who were always a pleasure to work with, producing the Weekly results in a timely and efficient manner throughout the year. The eight Monthly Medals had an average entry of 108. This year we played some of the medals on a Saturday, and off the white tees, reflecting the discussion at last years AGM. The Wednesday Open Singles attracted an average of 87 entries per week (exactly the same as last year) with maximum entries of 121 on 22 July. The eight Monthly Medal Winners were: Tony Gardiner, Ger Coakley, Anthony Barry, Tony Long (x 3) Michael Fitzgibbon and Noel Lovell. Tony Gardiner went on to win the Gold Medal in early October. The Captains and Presidents Prizes, where very well supported again this year, Donal G McCarthy won the Capt. s Prize and Alan Duggan won the (postponed) Presidents Prize. Presentation evenings were very well attended by the members and competition winners. It is very important that we are actively seen to support and meet our generous Sponsors on such occasions. Again THANK YOU sponsors for your support. Also a special thanks to the Ladies Club for their help and participation in some of the Presentation evenings, they really helped make these special events for the club. The Club Championships were run off as scheduled and thanks to all involved for their co- operation and interest. The Club Championship winners were: Singles: Leslie H Bryan 4 Ball: Ger Murphy and Glynn Aherne 4 Some s: Gerry Kelly and Michael O'Shaughnessy (back to back). Tony Long was a well deserved winner of Golfer of the Year. In a unique achievement he won 3 medals this year (technically 3 in a row), and got all of his GOY points in Stroke Play Competitions. A truly remarkable achievement. I'd like to thank Committee Member John Horgan for tracking GOY so well throughout. Our Scratch Cup Winners were: Senior; Sean Kingston, Junior; Andrew Daly. Intermediate; Padraig Crowley and Minor; Oliver Cahill. A special Thank you to Janice and Delia in the club office for their work on the BRS system, distributing the weekly results, and helping out with everything that cropped up during the year. Ger, Ian, and Padraig do a fantastic job bringing everything together to make the course and competitions enjoyable for everyone. The staff in the pro shop do a superb job, and really deserve our support and thanks. Also a big thanks to Kieran who on so many evenings kept the club house open, while we closed competitions Thanks to all the members who brought forward so many good ideas and suggestions, and apologies for the problem days. If I never had to organise a two person event again I would be a happy competition secretary, although I think the two person scramble eventually gave us an enjoyable format. This was my first year doing this job, and I had a lot to learn. Thanks to Declan for all his help

especially on the finer aspects of the Handicap Master System, and to Micheal for always being available with advice and support. In conclusion I would like to highlight all the tremendous unseen work done by Ger to ensure the club competitions run smoothly. We could not have a better Pro for the club. Des Fitzgerald CompSec. Proposer: Chris Cronin Seconder: Vincent McDwyer The meeting agreed with a suggestion from Chris Heaslip that every effort should be made not to mix formats such as Stableford and Strokeplay across the Mens and Ladies Competitions on the same day. Sponsorship Report Kinsale Golf Club 2015 Vice Captain Declan, President Denis, Chairman Tony, Gentlemen. Our Sponsorship News in We have received sponsorship 9,200 in Monetary terms. The discrepancy on the accounts is due to monies due and received after the end of our financial yr. We also generated approx 5500 in sponsorship prizes and vouchers. In total for the year. Along with this we ran a fund raising classic for our teams and this raised over 14,000 in income and generated a profit of 9,500 for the mens club. Some new sponsors this year were Able Health Care (Aidan O Shea), Fire Direct /Golf Conepts from Robbie thompson, Blackwater Motors ( Thanks to Aidan O Sullivan), Additonal sponsorship of our

Pierce Purcell team by Noel McMahon & Tony Hyland was also forthcoming. We also received some other one off sponsorship for our Pierce Purcell Team. The mens club therefore generated a total sponsorship income of 28,800.This was a great achievement by all involved. We will continue to require new sponsors and one off sponsors for our team events. I would appeal to all members to keep this in mind. The benefit of sponsorship is very real. This association can be a valuable opportunity to develop new business so there is a real return to the sponsor and it is not just altruism or charitable sponsorship. A challenge we faced this year was the exit of Rev Leslie who had ran the sponsorship for quite some time and did a super job. Leslie was most helpful to me in in passing over information and contacts. We decided for each committee member to liaise with selected sponsors and this worked well in sharing the workload. Thank you to all on the committee for this excellent and most valuable work. A huge and a most sincere Thank You goes out to all our Sponsors in Kinsale Golf Club.Your generous Sponsorship is indeed greatly valued and appreciated. Captains address Men s Club AGM 2015: May I say a most sincere Thank You to last Years Captain Leslie Bryan for giving me the opportunity to serve as Captain and to Chairman Tony Long for seconding the nomination. I have happily given four years to committee and enjoyed my time since I commenced under the Captaincy of Barry McCarthy during the centenary year. In that time there has been a complete change of committee with just one remaining member from that centenary year remaining in place, Chris Cronin. In the time we have introduced many positive changes for the better of the club and I am happy to be associated with this. Classic Our fundraiser for the classic was a great success. I want to thank our committee for their support and effort, once we realised we were in a Regional Final we knew we had to move quickly. A sub comm of Ted Curtin, Donal Hickey, Declan O Flynn and Des Fitzgerald was established and did a fine job in raising sponsorship and running the event on behalf of the men s club. I would also like to especially mention John & Brian O Neill and all the members of the Pierce Purcell panel for their great support of the event. They may have accounted for a substantial spend but they were were happy to come in with the financial support to make this happen. I am grateful for their efforts both on and off the course. Teams Reaching the regional finals in the Purcell & Fred Daly added very much to the enjoyment of my year as Captain. I hope under Declans captaincy next year we can build on the success achieved and move one step closer to national finals. Our pierce Purcell Panel were a great bunch of guys who gelled well together. They made a great commitment to practice and preparation ably guided by John Brian & Pat, The lads gave huge energy to preparation and training for which we are all thankful. it was great for the club. Thanks to our Fred Daly ably managed by Ger Cullinane. Ian Stafford has played a very important roll in nurturing and developing our young talent and has a very good rapport with the young players. His advice, coaching and help to our youth programme is indeed paying dividends. Thanks also to club pro Ger for his continued work in developing our Junior players

Fred Daly This team who just came up short in the Munster final are superb ambassadors for the club and we will continue to hear more about these players in the future. Junior & Juvenile players Well done to John Murphy for his award on the Junior Player of the Year Munster, this follows on the back of the same award to Cathal Butler. Gary Ward, John Murphy & Mark Helay on their selection to the Munster Boys Interprovincial team in August. IN the Leinster Open Boys Gary Ward won the JD McCormick trophy as leading qualifier and Gary finished runner up in this event. Three Juvenile players were given medals from the Mens club this year to mark their scratch handicap, they were Gary Ward, john Murphy & Keith Fitzpatrick The GUI national panels were announced last week and of the four Cork golfers have made the training panels. Kinsale s Cathal Butler has been added to the Men s Development Panel. John Murphy has gone straight into the Boy s Panel We had four qualifiers in the Irish Boys Championship in June played which intuam (Cathal, Eric, john & Mark healy), All four finished in the top 34players, highest being John Murphy in fourth position Gary Ward recorded the best 36 hole score at the qualifying stage of the the Kerry Boys at Ballybunion. Ward finished the 36 holes on +1. John Murphy won the Kerry Boys following on from Cathal Butlers victory last year. Cathal Butler performed admirably in the home nations against Wales taking a four points out of a possible 5 in their win All our teams performed admirably and I want to thank all our team managers for their kind help and their generous giving of their time. I was unable to attend all events due to work commitments and I want to thank President Denis for his support and turnout especially when I could not be there. I would also like to mention the great support received by our Lady Captain for these events. Course & Club House Thanks to all the staff Ger, Janice, Delia, Kieran and also our catering staff Shane & LIsa especially for their kind support of the classic. Management & Committee Chairman Tony has a tough job and the club will need much support him in his endeavours next year,, I wish him and his mgmt comm every success for the upcoming year. Thanks to all on the outgoing committee this year will see the departure of James Robinson & John Ward. Thank you for your services to the mens club.. A captain is only as good as his committee and indeed the club was very fortunate to have such an excellent committee available to serve us. I was able to rely on all. Our meetings were positive, progressive with every member all taking on jobs to the best of their

availability. All were a pleasure to work with and I would like to sincerely thank you for making my job as captain such a pleasure for the year. He is a long established. member having originally started his golf in Ringenane. Declan will be a great manager, organiser and ambassador for the club. I am very happy that he was in a position to accept the Proposed Captaincy of Kinsale Golf club this Year and thanks to his seconder Leslie Bryan. I will put the jacket on and invite Incoming Captain Declan to say a few words Declan nominated Chris Cronin as Vice Captain for 2016 and thanked Micheál as seconder for the nomination. Declan in accepting the nomination was delighted to be the incoming Captain and promised to fulfill his role to the best of his abilities. Committee: Joe Fahy, John Horgan, Aidan O Sullivan, Pat Higgins, Richard Heffernan, Brian Doran

Any other Business: Vincent McDwyer outlined his and the Clubs' appreciation for the volunteers who undertook gardening work conducted during the year. Declan Murphy suggested that removing some trees on the left of the 11 th hole may assist in eliminating some slow play on the hole. The suggestion was noted and would be referred to the Management Committee. Chris Heaslip enquired if some changes were underway with the Handicapping system. Handicap Secretary advised that to date he had not been advised of any proposed changes. There being no further matters raised, the outgoing Captain thanked everyone who attended and closed the meeting at 9.10 pm. Declan O'Flynn Hon. Secretary November 2015.
