WEETAMOO - Disappointing in both of her flat starts but won a claimer on hurdle debut at Compiegne last month. Consider 3. JUGEOTTE - Can boast useful form in claimers on the flat and improved on second hurdle start last month 4. FANFAN DES BRIERES - Encouraging debut when third to Listenmania here last month. Can be in the mix 5. VIA APPIA - Ran a couple of good races in claimers last October but has gone cold since then Hurdle debut today

2 6. DOMISANA - Placed in two of her four starts on the flat in Poland but pulled up on hurdle debut here last month 7. FRENCH DREAM - Well beaten fourth behind Listenmania on her hurdle here last month. Hard to recommend 8. LA TEMERAIRE - By Martaline and is the first foal to run out of a dam that won one from ten After two poor efforts on the flat (2) WEETAMOO impressed on her hurdle debut when winning by a distance from Saganesha Rostegri in a claimer at Compiegne last month. She gets the vote ahead of (4) FANFAN DES BRIERES who can reverse placings with (1) TYTONIDAE from their run here last month behind Listenmania. (8) LA TEMERAIRE is next best. (2) WEETAMOO - (4) FANFAN DES BRIERES - (1) TYTONIDAE - (8) LA TEMERAIRE

3 Race 2 1. ETOILE DU FICHEAUX - Unplaced in both of her flat starts last Autumn but could be better over hurdles 2. BINOCLINE - By Martaline and is the first foal to run out of a dam that was a maiden after seven starts 3. SINNETIQUE - By Sinndar and is the first foal to run out of a dam that was a maiden after eight starts 4. LAMARCKISE - By Martaline and is a half sister to the Listed placed hurdler and chaser Gold In Love 5. THRILLING - By Network and is the first foal to run out of a dam that won five from seventeen 6. FORMULE UN - By Coastal Path and is the second foal to run out of a dam that won one from twenty one 7. SHAHINA DU BERLAIS - By Saint Des Saints and is the first foal to run out of a dam that won a Listed chase 8. VILLA MARCEAU - By Kendargent and is a half sister to the Listed placed chaser Square Marceau 9. MORENA DU BERLAIS - By Saint Des Saints and is a half sister to the Grade Three hurdle and chase winner Triana Du Berlais 10. FOJA - By Masterstroke and is the second foal to run out of a dam that won six from forty one A half sister to the Listed placed hurdler Gold In Love the Nicolle trained (4) LAMARCKISE is a niece of the high class Shannon Rock. She gets a tentative vote here ahead of the Macaire newcomer (5) THRILLING who is the first foal out of a dam that was useful over hurdles. 4 Race 3 1. BENEVOLAT - Two time scorer from nineteen but has failed to complete the course on four of the last five occasions 2. RASIQUE - Five time winner from sixty starts and dropped in class today so must be respected 3. VENT D'ALLIER - Four time winner from forty four and a decent effort in a handicap chase last time out 4. VAN GOGH DU GRANIT - Good last two runs at Pau last December and has place claims back in this division 5. VICOMTE D'ANJOU - Made it win number eight at Cagnes in December and is well capable in claiming company 6. CHAMPAGNE DU BOURG - Won a chase at Argentan last time out in November but faces a stiff test on reappearance 7. OSSO BELLO - Runner up in four races this year and won a claimer at Fontainebleau last month. Consider 8. VENDELOGNE - Well beaten sixth over hurdles here last time out in October. Hard to recommend today 9. CANZILLERO - Just very average form in seventeen career outings and is easily passed aside once more A former Grade One placed chaser here (2) RASIQUE is dropped back in to claiming company today. He was well beaten in a Listed handicap chase here last month but can record his sixth career success today. (7) OSSO BELLO has been in good form in claimers so far this year and looks the main danger. (5) VICOMTE D'ANJOU and (4) VAN GOGH DU GRANIT are next best. 5 Race 4 1. LES BEAUFS - Formerly a very smart sort on the level and indeed over hurdles. Still knows how to do it but maybe not today 2. MY MAJ - Has a great strike rate with a dozen wins from forty seven and will always have a shout with statistics like those 3. INTRINSEQUE - An eight time winner from forty five including two in a row at Cagnes-sur-Mer during December but not so hot since then 4. KAMI KAZE - Last of three wins from twenty from twenty two came here last October but will need a huge effort now today 5. COUTEUSE - She has been marked absent since winning here nearly a year ago so will do well to collect on handicap debut 6. ANGEL'S SHARE - Has won a third of her fifteen outings including a chase here last month and will warrant respect with that record 7. CAYO DE PAIL - A four time winner from twenty seven and a good runner up here last month and in front of a few of these 8. DEADHEAT - Has won four of his ten runs and did it well at Nantes when reverting to hurdles on seasonal reappearance last month 9. SQUARE BEAUJON - Made terrific reappearance here last month after a huge absence and indeed has been dogged by lengthy spells away 10. LOVELY VALLEE - She is a dual winner from fifteen starts and finished a few lengths behind Cayo de Pail here last time out 11. LA LIMAGNE - She has won a sixth of her twenty four runs and probably needs a near best now to get involved at the business end 12. ETERNAL ARMY - Has four wins from thirty but was beaten far enough here last time out and may have questions to answer today 13. CANITIE - Has gained four career wins from twenty eight starts but needs to put a big performance here to go close at big odds 14. EMILIE KAP - Gained both wins in a row at Cagnes-sur-Mer but that was back in December of 2016 and needs a very big one here 15. PAGOMIX - Just the one career win from twenty nine and that came at Cagnes-sur-Mer in December just gone. Will need to do more 16. MALAK EL HAWA - Has five victories from sixty one outings and did place third here last time out but each way is very best hope still

6 The usual competitive big field for this Quite affair and of course it is wide open. (6) ANGEL'S SHARE has a really fine win hit rate and did it over fences here last time. The switch to hurdles will be no issue. (8) DEADHEAT won well at Nantes last time out and is in with a big shout for victory. (7) CAYO DE PAIL is in form and must be considered to finish ahead of (10) LOVELY VALLEE here again. (9) SQUARE BEAUJON has hope if avoiding the bounce. 7 Race 5 1. EN BONNE MAIN - One win from five which came at Pau in December on the level and has shown good form over hurdles 2. EDWARD - Placed twice at Angers either side of a fall and will have a chance here for sure 3. EPI SACRE - Has finished fourth three times from five runs and that could happen again today 4. NONANTE A ESTIVAUX - A winner twice on the flat and also over hurdles last time at Mont-de-Marsan last time 5. EXIT TO WHERE - Two fourth place finishes in four runs and has just too much on here now 6. ETOILE DU SEUIL - Much improved for debut when runner up at Compiegne but that was nearly a year ago now 7. ENEE - Won flat debut last year and performed adequately on first hurdle start here 8. ET QUOI - Beaten far enough on both runs and has it all to prove in this company 9. ECHANSON - Runner up on flat debut last year but disappointing in two runs since then 10. EPI TETE - Just the four middling flat runs to date and must do better is the advice for today 11. ECOSSAIS - Well down the field on flat debut last month and is another that needs to do better 12. ENSOLEILLE - Finished third on flat debut but then came down on hurdles start last time when looking likely to collect 13. EN BETON - A nicely bred newcomer by Network and should be better for the experience 14. EPERVIER - Won on racecourse and flat debut at Argentan last month and should be interesting here 15. EXPRESSIONNISTE - One flat win from five mixed starts last year and best watched here maybe 16. ELLE EST DESLANDES - She has one place from four runs and basically is an outsider for this in truth

8 A big field of runners but many can have a line drawn through them and even for a place at that. The one runner that stands out is the well connected (12) ENSOLEILLE who was so unlucky last time out on hurdles debut at Saint-Brieuc and can make amends now. (1) EN BONNE MAIN has experience and that should count while (14) EPERVIER could be smart in the future over obstacles having won flat debut. (2) EDWARD and (6) ETOILE DU SEUIL are others to look at. (12) ENSOLEILLE - (1) EN BONNE MAIN - (14) EPERVIER - (2) EDWARD - (6) ETOILE DU SEUIL

9 Race 6 1. CABOY - Last of two wins came at Angers in November but this will be so different and no chance of win 2. BOHIO - Dual winner from fourteen including at Nantes on penultimate start but still out of this 3. LORD DU MESNIL - Placed in five of eight starts bar one which was at this venue. This is out of reach though 4. SACRE TSAR - Dual winner from twenty nine runs. Better effort on reappearance after light campaign last year 5. PUNCH NANTAIS - Has won a third of his eighteen outings and would be a shoe in here but for his much vaunted stable companion 6. KELTHOMAS - Former very smart nine time winner but the light seems to be fading nowadays 7. GELURONI - Won five in a row here back in 2014 but has been plagued by problems ever since 8. ALARY - Former very smart dual winner but had an abortive time in the UK last year and something to prove now 9. DEVICE - Hugely talented fifteen time winner and eventually makes much awaited debut over fences The long awaited debut over fences for the much vaunted and hugely talented (9) DEVICE eventually takes place here after the gelding has chalked up fifteen wins over hurdles. It will be a huge shock if he does not succeed. The price will be prohibitive. Stablemate (5) PUNCH NANTAIS looks a shoe in for second. (8) ALARY and (7) GELURONI will try to regain some form for the places. (9) DEVICE - (5) PUNCH NANTAIS - (8) ALARY - (7) GELURONI

10 Race 7 1. GOLD AND FIRE - Won once from seven which was at Cagnes-sur-Mer in December and good efforts mostly 2. FIRST DAUM - One success from five which came at Lyon-Parilly last October and in with a shout 3. TRIBALION - Still to win after fifteen runs but has shown some bits of form and this is weak 4. RUBYCHOP - One success from ten and if putting best foot forward would have frame claims 5. SALDORELLO - Has hit the frame in four of nine starts and that is best hope once more 6. NORCO - Pretty average stuff in half a dozen runs and simply cannot be fancied at all 7. LE CREOLE - One win from nine runs but still looks one of the big outsiders here again 8. TROUSSEAU - One win from eighteen and runner up last time out at Argentan so could place 9. JARNAC DE RAY - Placed in two of his six starts but those were weak affairs so work to do 10. ONE SWEET - Has hit the frame numerous times in nineteen runs and might do it some day This is very moderate fare for this great venue but it does throw up a pretty solid bet in the shape of (1) GOLD AND FIRE who won at Cagnes-sur-Mer last December over hurdles and has shown some aptitude for the larger obstacles in two runs last month at Fontainebleau last month. (2) FIRST DAUM looks good for the forecast. (3) TRIBALION and (4) RUBYCHOP have small claims. (1) GOLD AND FIRE - (2) FIRST DAUM - (3) TRIBALION - (4) RUBYCHOP

11 Race 8 1. SANTANA DU BERLAIS - One success in fourteen runs and not an immediate chuck out at all here 2. ULTRANET - Four time winning ten year old and a good second here last month so every chance 3. DANDY DU SEUIL - Off the mark on seasonal reappearance at Compiegne earlier this month and well considered 4. BEAU NORA - Just the one win from fifteen and poor reappearance run after six months off 5. CASCAVEL - He is five from thirty four but has had training issues in the past so overlooked today 6. RADIOLOGUE - Waited until twenty second time last day at Compiegne to get off the mark but could go well 7. MOONLIGHT BLUE - Unplaced in all six runs and is sure to follow similar path today one suspects 8. MARVELLOSO - Won two in a row last season and has a workable handicap rating again so not ruled out 9. PLUTONIAN - One win from thirteen runs but both outings this season have been sub standard 10. ANOUMA FREEDOM - Has achieved four wins from forty nine and in the main is consistent with a chance 11. DISCRETION - Remains winless after a dozen starts but has been runner up in last two and is a contender 12. DORS DINE - Placed in seven of sixteen runs but others make much more appeal at this juncture 13. DEFI DES CARRES - Placed twice in seven runs last season and has fewer convictions than some 14. BLEU DE PAIL - Still a maiden after twenty but was at least placed in both starts this season There are a few that can be fancied for this closing event. Eventual preference is for (2) ULTRANET who performed very well when running a good second here last month on return to hurdling and can confirm placings with (10) ANOUMA FREEDOM who was further back in fourth. (3) DANDY DU SEUIL must have a chance too along with the maiden (11) DISCRETION.

FINEZA VAS - Has shown a different side to herself in last two. Steps up in class but must be afforded respect 2. FIRST D'OCCAGNES - Has shown good promise so far. Goes left-handed for the first time but one to note all the same 3. FIGEAC COLMI - Got off the mark smartly at Caen early last month and after a short breather looks to have a decent hand to play here 4. FLASH DE LUNE - Made a fine debut before striking on comeback at Laval two weeks ago and from the 4-spot must be taken seriously 5. FEE DE GESVRES - Beautifully-bred filly that has more than once shown her class on the track. Still somewhat green but a major player nonetheless 6. FRENCH LOVER - Returns to the provinces after a brace of failed attempts in the capital and will have his supporters 7. FORMI - Colt of evident quality that won with Abrivard in charge at Caen. Reunited after a Cherbourg sanction and should give this a good go 8. FILEAS D'OSMOZ - Respectable type opting for a less challenging test and while consistent is a minor place chance at best 9. FIFTY BARBES - Delicate type that began to come good at the turn of the year but cannot expect to have much going for him here 10. FLIPPER D'OBRET - Has placed just twice from nine starts to date and appears to have his work cut out 11. FEELING MESLOIS - Modest qualifier at Laval last autumn. Swiftly sanctioned on debut late March and can expect little support 12. FEE EUROPA - Got off the mark in a minor claimer earlier in the month but faces a considerably tougher challenge this time around 13. FREE MAN - Confirmed his fine qualification with a facile success at Cherbourg late March and despite the draw should again prove a tough opponent

FIACRE DU CHENE - Respectable in all three so far but unraced for past seven months and will need the outing (13) FREE MAN did everything right on debut at Cherbourg late last month and although on the second line here can still confirm. He will however be pitted against the significantly better-positioned (4) FLASH DE LUNE who opened his account in style at Laval twelve days ago. (5) FEE DE GESVRES has shown significant promise so far and returns to the provinces with a legitimate chance of improving on her recent Vincennes third. (3) FIGEAC COLMI has the plum spot behind the car and is not incapable of repeating his Caen success. (13) FREE MAN - (4) FLASH DE LUNE - (5) FEE DE GESVRES - (3) FIGEAC COLMI

15 Race 2 1. CAFTAN BESP - Frequently the object of the stewards' focus but is not without merit and will attract some attention 2. DONETTE BRAY - Useful type that finished runner-up to (14) DIVINE DE L'ITON at Chartres eleven days ago and will have her supporters 3. CIMOKO D'ANKAR - Has not once made the frame in the past 22 months and will have few takers 4. DIAPHANE - Well-regarded mare but faulted on only ridden start this term. Associated with a top jockey this time and could enjoy a change in fortune 5. CORELIE DU GOUTIER - Has struggled to find any semblance of form following the long layoff and can be written off 6. CAGNOISE D'AGON - Left a good impression at Vire early April and should be good enough to finish in the mix 7. DESTINEE DE L'ITON - Showed considerable talent last year. Has raced unsuccessfully since but change is shoeing formula could prove just the ticket 8. CYCLAMEN DU MONT - Sprang a surprise when winning in the provinces ten days ago. Unlikely to repeat but should still acquit himself honourably 9. DYNAMITE MARCEAUX - Has been a question of all-or-nothing since the beginning of the winter. Won in style at Laval recently and in similar shape could well confirm 10. DOMENICO - Respectable dual-purpose trotter that failed to fire behind (9) DYNAMITE MARCEAUX at Laval two weeks ago but could get a look in if he can get off on the right foot 11. CHABLIS DE FAVEROL - Sanctioned in all but one ridden start to date. Benefits from an Eric Raffin ride here though and if applied will have his chances 12. CESAR DE VILLIERS - Has done nothing of note in either code for some time and can be passed over 13. CRISTAL DE CANCHY - Hardy sort when applied. Went into his break on a high note but has not been seen since and will need the race 14. DIVINE DE L'ITON - Has demonstrated decent aptitude for the game. Opened her ridden account at Chartres earlier this month and must be respected 15. DASTERIEN - Very useful trotter when applied. Will be fully fit by now and going barefoot for the occasion can only enhance his already good prospects 16. CINQ AVRIL - Has ample ability but is as complicated as they come. Goes barefoot this time though and with application should figure prominently

16 (9) DYNAMITE MARCEAUX is a tricky character but considering how well she imposed at Laval despite some stride issues Barrier could well guide her to a second straight success. (14) DIVINE DE L'ITON made no bones about imposing at Chartres earlier this month and once again looks a serious player. (2) DONETTE BRAY finished runner-up to her that day but is in a better bunch this time around and can expect to find both the delicate but talented (4) DIAPHANE and the barefoot (15) DASTERIEN to good for her. (9) DYNAMITE MARCEAUX - (14) DIVINE DE L'ITON - (15) DASTERIEN - (4) DIAPHANE - (2) DONETTE BRAY

17 Race 3 1. BAMBINO ALDO - Completely out of the picture in last six starts and chances slim at best 2. ASIA DU CAMP - Raced significantly better than her latest result suggests and with more luck in running can play a leading role 3. BILOU DU TAJ - Has demonstrated better aptitude in the ridden code of late and will have few takers 4. BRUNE DE LA BASLE - Has made no impact on the track since last summer and can be confidently disregarded 5. BRUME DE TRAMON - Very disappointing since returning to competition and has no realistic chance 6. ABY SAINT ANDRE - Out of luck in last two but reunited with J-P Bazire who has enjoyed success with him and should redeem himself 7. ARE DE GOUPILLIERE - Was not disgraced in two of last three but shoes on this time and will pose no danger 8. BERROR DE L'ERVE - Moderate type with better form in the other code. Here for reasons of conditioning and no threat 9. BON VENT - Respectable trotter but returns from his layoff with shoes on and will struggle to make his mark 10. ACCENT - Unremarkable type but encouraged behind (12) VIRGINIA RUSH last time and being associated with Grimault can only work to his advantage 11. VAGABOND D'HERTALS - Considerably better horse in the other branch of the game and can be ruled out 12. VIRGINIA RUSH - Hardy trotter in the amateur category. Caught the eye at Laval last time and should give another competitive account 13. VIVANO DE KEVDY - Has improved in last two. Finished close to (12) VIRGINIA RUSH last time and will have his supporters 14. VAFLOSA BELLA - Handy mare that is barefoot for her comeback and must not be underestimated 15. ATHLETIC SPORT - Useful on a good day but returns shod following a fourmonths' break and can be ruled out 16. BELLA DE LA BASLE - Superb mare at this level and currently in fine shape. Has an excellent entry and should be able to win this

18 (16) BELLA DE LA BASLE is an exceptional campaigner at this level of competition and racing barefoot with a good amateur in charge can only enhance her already good prospects. She can nonetheless expect to encounter resistance from the hardy (2) ASIA DU CAMP who benefits from a 25m advantage here. (6) ABY SAINT ANDRE is reunited with a driver with whom he has enjoyed success and should get back in the game. (12) VIRGINIA RUSH reassured when second at Laval late March and should give this a good go. (13) VIVANO DE KEVDY was not far behind that day and will also have his chances. (16) BELLA DE LA BASLE - (2) ASIA DU CAMP - (6) ABY SAINT ANDRE - (12) VIRGINIA RUSH - (13) VIVANO DE KEVDY

19 Race 4 1. ETHIOPIA - Modest filly under harness and has no realistic chance here 2. EASY AND NICE ER - Got back in the game with success at Angers last month and while unlikely to repeat could still get a look in 3. EYRA DES BUISSONS - Beginning to make good on his promise. Caught the eye at Reims two weeks ago and should not be overlooked 4. ESTAK GENTIL - Consistently gives a decent account and will be helped by a top position behind the car 5. EGIR DES APRES - Very consistent for the most part. Beat (7) ECLAIR DE LUNE at Laval last time and from the 5-spot must be worth a second look 6. ECOSSAIS DE VIVOIN - Has been very hard to fault this year. Left a good impression at Vincennes last time and looks to have a good hand to play 7. ECLAIR DE LUNE - Made a fine comeback late March after a long absence and from the front line should figure more prominently this time 8. ECLAIR CHARENTAIS - Excellent colt that quickly lost his action at Le Croise- Laroche but with application should go close this time 9. ENDURO SPORT - Moderate type that has done nothing of note this year and can be passed over 10. ECLAIR STAR - Pleased on comeback but disappointing since and must raise his game 11. ERA DES ROSEAUX - Useful filly that trotted third to (2) EASY AND NICE ER at Angers but faces a stiffer test against the boys this time 12. ESSENCE BLEUE - Has found form again after a poor run but will still have her work cut out 13. ECHO DU LUPIN - Has demonstrated very good aptitude for the game. Wiels employed poor tactics at Cordemais and should redeem himself 14. EROXANE DU VIVIER - Serious trotter that has been in cracking form lately and in spite of the draw can win this 15. EURIPIDE LUDOIS - Showed improvement last time out but unraced for two months and has little going for him here 16. EPERON DE FRECA - Unexceptional colt that has not been seen out since December and the draw will only add to his woes After imposing with consummate ease at Mauquenchy mid-march (14)

20 EROXANE DU VIVIER is reunited with Ernault with whom she has never disappointed. They may be starting on the second line but but still look to have the edge over (7) ECLAIR DE LUNE who made an excellent comeback even though not pushed. (6) ECOSSAIS DE VIVOIN has finished out of the frame just once this year and must also be afforded respect. (8) ECLAIR CHARENTAIS has hardly set a foot wrong to date and looks a possible spoiler. (4) ESTAK GENTIL is ideally-placed behind the car and returning to the provinces should work to his advantage. 21 Race 5 1. ELIOS DE MINEL - Opened his account with a fine effort at Reims late last month and from the inside can make another big impact 2. ESPERANCE CELESTE - Complicated but not short of ability. Has a good spot behind the car and will be one to note 3. EVER DREAM MUSIC - Went into her break on a high note and has returned with two straight victories. Ideally placed in front and looks the horse to beat 4. ESCAPADE - Has more than once shown hints of talent but in current form will be hard to back 5. ENIGME JENILOU - Often a question of all-or-nothing and little chance on first outing since the spell 6. ESHALLA - Delicate but has been acquitting herself well of late and going barefoot should work to her advantage 7. EVEN STREET - Very disappointing for the past four months and has no realistic chance 8. EPI DES VAUX - Respectable trotter making his first appearance under harness this year and best to monitor this time 9. ELDORA - Well-regarded filly making her seasonal debut but can still make the first five 10. EUPHRATE DESBOIS - Not as productive since returning from the layoff and has a lot more to find 11. EBBIO JOSSELYN - Has demonstrated ample class since his debut 12 months ago. Has been flying this year and can overcome the second-line draw 12. EURO BECO - No slouch but has struggled with stride problems lately and will not be easy to trust 13. ENZO DU KLAU - Unremarkable colt that must raise his game in order to make any impact here 14. EXTREME CHARM - Hardy type that has begun to show more this term and although breaking from the back could still pick up a small cheque 15. EVA NONANTAISE - Modest sort that has done nothing to convince for some time and can be passed over 16. ENTRAMIS SIBEY - Won two on the trot last summer before being put away. Has not been seen since and others preferred this time

DAR LA NOTA - Hardy sort that has been in fine shape of late and breaking from the front will do her prospects no harm 5. CINDERELLA - Has shown a different side to herself since racing barefoot and although in somewhat better company will be one to keep an eye on 6. CHIPIE NONANTAISE - Respectable mare when applied. Encouraged on her only start with Gelormini and should not be overlooked 7. DORIS DE BASSIERE - Unbeaten in two so far this year and latterly set her personal best. Raffin takes over and from the front line can make it three on the trot 8. CALLIANGA DE NILE - Has encouraged just once from four this year and appears to have her work cut out 9. CALIPOSTE - Average type that has not been seen out since late October and unlikely to influence the result 10. CHIVA DES RACQUES - Will be fully fit by now. Goes barefoot here and can play a small role even starting on the second line 11. CATARINA DE MARZY - Has shown no particular aptitude for harness racing and can be confidently disregarded 12. DELMONICA - Has looked very ordinary since the turn of the year and must reaffirm 13. DEESSE DU PLESSIS - Not the most reliable but form is not in doubt and a trip to the provinces should do her some good 14. DESIREE STAR - Very hard to fault with hind shoes off but stays shod for return and others preferred this time 15. COTE D'AZUR - Won a Class D last month and although having failed to confirm behind (18) CYBELE DES ILES next time must still be respected 16. DOUCE REVELATION - Decent trotter when barefoot but is shod for return and no threat 17. CISULIE DE GUEZ - Out of the picture in last seven races and no chance on just second start back 18. CYBELE DES ILES - Tough sort that was not the most fortunate at Caen last

24 time but can play a major role if she can get off on the right foot The brief winter break appears to have worked wonders for (7) DORIS DE BASSIERE who has won both since returning to competition. Breaking from the front with Raffin in the sulky should be her ticket to a three-timer. (18) CYBELE DES ILES starts 25m worse off but should figure prominently if she can reproduce her penultimate performance. Ideally positioned on the front line and expected to figure prominently once more 5. BARAKA THIEBEN - Has been completely off the boil for some time and has no realistic chance 6. CLASSIC GLORY - Capable on a good day but out of the picture in last three and must show improvement 7. VICK DE LA NADE - Regularly gives everything he has. Breaks from the front this time and could get a look in 8. ARIZONA TELBE - Erratic dual-purpose trotter returning from a long layoff. Is barefoot for the occasion but still appears to have too much to do 9. APOLLON D'ANJOU - Average sort with better form in the amateur division. Breaks in front but still not an obvious choice 10. ANGEL HEART - Decent trotter that was quickly sanctioned in Paris last time but should make amends if he can get off on the right foot 11. CAID DE BENGALE - No slouch under harness but tends to show more in the other code and can be passed over 12. ARMENIE DU LUPIN - Good consistent mare for the most part but better under the saddle and unlikely to shake things up 13. VIVALDI DU VIVROT - Made a fine comeback behind (14) COLONEL following a long absence and with form maintained should not be too far off the mark 14. COLONEL - Serious type that left a good impression at Cholet ten days ago. Stays shod but still looks a player 15. COACH FRANBLEU - Well-regarded trotter that has nothing to prove at this level. Is barefoot after prepping at La Capelle and must be afforded respect 16. BARAKA DE BOUGY - Hardy mare that has progressed well this year. Gelormini has maintained faith and should again acquit herself competitively 17. ALEXIA DU CHERISAY - Modest individual that has made no impact for some time and can be written off

DIANE DU PALAIS - Encouraged in three of four this year. Trounced at Caen last time though and must raise her game 3. DOLLY DE LA LYS - Hardy mare that took little time getting back to her best. Won smartly at Laval late last month and from the 3-spot looks a serious contender here 4. DEESSE DU CHERISAY - Excellent campaigner when applied. Has not been seen out for two months but is well in here and should give a competitive account 5. DAPHNE DE FAVEROL - Better sort in the claiming division. Unseen since November and no threat 6. DIVA DU PONT - Capable type but sanctioned in last three and not the easiest to trust 7. DAME DU DOUET - Useful type that left a good impression on comeback at Lisieux. Is shod again and should get a look in 8. DIVINE DU SUD - Gives a respectable account for the most part and should not be far off the mark provided she can maintain stride 9. DIVINE MONCEAU - Handy sort but is shod for first start of the season and chances limited 10. DANOVA DU CHENE - Solid as a rock since the autumn. Associated with Raffin for just the second time and can confirm her latest effort at Pont-Chateau 11. DISIS D'HAMELINE - Regularly in the action when applied. Finished third to (15) DORADA DE LOU last time out and after a short breather should acquit herself honourably 12. DESIREE DES BOTS - Looked a different horse last year when racing unshod but has not been seen out since August and can be passed over 13. DEMARRANTE - Has looked decidedly ordinary since returning to competition but goes barefoot this time and should show improvement 14. DIANE D'EOLE - Has hardly set a foot wrong in recent months. Pleased on her only start here and with hind shoes off for the first time must be respected 15. DORADA DE LOU - Blows hot and cold but has won two of last four and despite the draw should not be underestimated 16. DRYADELLA - Has been going good guns since the start of the year. Is in better company here but will still have her supporters

28 With just one return race in her (3) DOLLY DE LA LYS won smartly at Laval late last month. Breaking from the 3-spot with Monclin in the sulky should be enough to see her double up. The lightly-raced (1) DECADENCE has the inside line here and after a solid comeback at Caen mid-march should be in a position to apply the pressure. (10) DANOVA DU CHENE has been a model of consistency in recent months and while unlikely to win this can still make the frame. (7) DAME DU DOUET breaks wide but cannot be faulted for her impressive return at Lisieux. ARIANGA MAGIC - Takes her first steps under the saddle for over two years and unlikely to shake things up 4. BRUME DE MEMARTIN - Has ability but still very delicate. Can play a small role though if she can maintain stride 5. CREDO BLUE - Useful trotter on a good day but not a priority on first start for three months 6. BIRDY MATCH - Serious sort in this discipline. Will be at peak fitness by now and with shoes off and Lebourgeois on board he should have every chance from the front line 7. AHINA DE MERVEILLE - Unseen under the saddle for four years. Currently off the boil and no threat 8. BAD BOY NEP - Won over course and distance last autumn but unraced for three months and will need the outing 9. Found somewhat wanting at Cherbourg but can still pick up some minorplace money 13. CAPPRICIA VERDERIE - Is proven in a better class but out of the picture this year. Drops in class but still not an obvious choice 14. BAMBOLINA - Not short of ability but has struggled so far this year and must reaffirm 15. VAZARKA MAX - Hardy mare that made a fine comeback at Vincennes earlier in the month. Drops marginally in category and can play an important role

Must be considered 5. PUNKIE - A Makfi filly out of Peace Mine who is making her debut. Has a chance 6. BONARDA - A Style Vendome filly out of Sloane de Borepair who is making her debut 7. ANA GOLD - First run for a Champs Elysees filly out of Ana Style. Others are preferred 8. INGLEWOOD - First run for a Waldpark filly out of Spirit Divine. CHIPOLATA - Always gives of her best. Returns from a break but is clearly not out of it 6. VELMA VALENTO - Fit and inform. Distance suited and could be right there at the finish It is a small field and it is quite possible that (1) EFRAAN could prove to be a bit smarter than his rivals. After a promising debut he stepped up to win at this track last time out. The biggest threat is likely to come from (4) MR SATCHMO who is also coming off a confidence boosting win.
