2 Welcome to Rathbarry & Glenview Studs 2018 Dear Breeders, Over the years we have worked hard at Rathbarry Stud to achieve the position in which we find ourselves today a leading farm with a mixture of proven stallions and some exciting young prospects in residence. We believe that these highly credentialed horses offer breeders a rich and diverse source of some of the most successful bloodlines in the world. ACCLAMATION s progeny again enjoyed a very successful year on the racecourse in 2017 with 17 Black Type performers including 2 Individual Group 1 Winners ACLAIM and MARSHA, a Group 2 winning 2 year old, 3 Group 3 winners and 4 Listed winners. He has continued to give breeders wonderful results both commercially and on the track over a sustained number of years and he continues to be one of the most consistent sources of speed and is the Leading Sire in GB& IRE in 2017 of Blacktype Sprinters. AJAYA and KODI BEAR made an excellent start to their stud careers in 2017, both covering large books of high quality mares, a high proportion of which are either Stakes performers, sisters to dams of or out of Stakes performers. Both horses carry the blood of some of the most influential stallions of recent times and offer breeders an outcross for the abundance of Northern Dancer descendant mares which are numerous in our broodmare bands. We look forward to the arrival of their first foals in will see the first 2 year old runners by the Group 2 winning and dual Group 1 placed 2 year old, MOOHAAJIM. His yearlings received a very positive reception at the sales selling for up to 100,000 and averaging over 7 times his stud fee. They were purchased by some very shrewd trainers and agents who were impressed by their appearance as being sharp, racy, sprinting types. The everygreen TAGULA completes our flat stallion roster and his fertility was as good as ever in His progeny at the sales gave his supporters a lucrative return on their investment with an average of over ten times his nomination fee. After 21 successful seasons at Glenview Stud, we sadly had to say our goodbyes to PRESENTING in We count ourselves extremely lucky to have stood a stallion of his calibre and he has left a great legacy of many young potential racing stars for the future. Moreover, his track record to date as a leading maternal grandsire can only improve and should ensure that his influence in National Hunt bloodlines will be felt for many years to come. Fortunately, we still have 4 proven stallions on our National Hunt roster: MALINAS, already sire of several Stakes winning jumpers from his German conceived crops and whose GB sired progeny will be hitting the tracks in 2018 and were purchased by several leading trainers in both UK and Ireland. ROBIN DES CHAMPS continues to produce top class racehorses such as Blow By Blow, Listen Dear, Tombstone, Woodland Opera, etc. to follow in the footsteps of the ill-fated Vatour and Un Atout and the retired Quevaga. SHIROCCO sire of sensational 5 time Group 1 winner Annie Power, had another Dual Group 1 performer in Windstoss, winner of Group 1 Deutsches Derby & Group 1 Preis Von Europa and even though his first Irish crop are only 3 year olds of 2018, he has some very promising horses in the pipeline such as the black type performers, Rock The Kasbah, Minella Rocco and exciting debutant bumper winner Mercy Mercy Me, etc. And finally, SHOLOKHOV already sire of Don Cossack, the 6-time Group 1 winner of the 2016 Cheltenham Gold Cup, continues to be very popular with breeders who have been rewarded with an excellent return on their investment at the sales. He has some exciting young horses making their presence felt such as Nambour and 2017 Point to Point winners White Moon and Momella, that have continued their winning ways on the track.
