The leather we use is still the finest quality full grain leather and it is still tanned in Yorkshire. The workshop that crafts the leather is still based in Walsall in the West Midlands. Being British is very important to us, but so is offering you an exceptional product. We re proud of our Innovation - From our Registered Design Five Point Breastplate, the revolutionary clip browband to the Grand Prix Padded headpiece, we are continually reviewing and enhancing our range to bring our customers the newest and very best products on the market. To that end, we have upgraded our nosebands so that all of them can be used with both a regular headpiece and the Grand Prix headpiece. Quality Using workshops based in Britain, we ensure that the quality of all our products is the very best it can be. Value All our products, with proper care, will last a number of years. As the customer can create a bespoke bridle to suit their needs (and their horse s too) there is no such thing as make-do. In addition to complete bridles, we sell everything separately, down to a keeper, so if any individual part becomes worn, you don t need to invest in a whole new bridle. Service Service is very important to us, whether it is getting the bridle to fit perfectly first time or repairing a broken strap. We endeavour to get all orders out the same day (depending on the time that the order is placed) as well as return calls as quickly as possible. The mobile phone is always manned.

4 No Kate Negus bridle is ever standard How to build your new Kate Negus bridle Kate Negus gives you the opportunity to design a bridle to your specification, which fits your horse perfectly first time! 1. Select the type of bridle - Cavesson, Flash or Double 2. Select the colour Black or Chestnut 3. Select the noseband - traditional back fastening, crank back fastening, grackle or drop 4. Select the type of headpiece 5. Select the browband matching or contrast 6. Select the type of cheek piece Once you have made your choices and taken your measurements, we can put together your ideal bridle. If browband and noseband style match, we ll do this at no extra cost! 5 No horse is ever standard... How to measure for your new Kate Negus bridle With all the cross breeding of horses and the variations in bits, to get a standard bridle to fit properly is not always possible. At Kate Negus you can achieve the perfect fit for your horse at no extra cost. To do this, either bring your bridle along to one of the shows we attend (check website for details) or take the following measurements. All measurements to be made on a flat surface. Measurement 1 Measure browband end to end. Measurement 2 Measure the throat lash from buckle end to the hole you use. Measurement 3 Connect your cheek pieces to the headpiece and measure from the bend of the leather to the other bend. Measurement 4 Measure the length of the noseband around the nose part from the buckle to the hole that you use.

6 Classic Bridles All our Classic bridles are available with regular, padded or Grand Prix headpieces. The size and style of all other components, such as cheekpieces and browbands, can be selected when you order. Padded Drop - shown with a regular headpiece. A classic design which is still popular but a little difficult to come by. The bridle comes with an International browband and a choice of cheekpieces, and choice of headpiece. Hunter - shown with a regular headpiece. The classic Hunter Bridle made in our best full grain hide. The noseband is 1 1/4 wide. A slip head can be added to make a double bridle. Traditionally with hook stud cheeks but can have buckles. Available with the headpiece of your choice. Grackle - shown with a regular headpiece and clencher browband. The High Ring Grackle comes with the competition browband and any type of cheekpiece. The photo shows a clencher browband which is extra.

8 Padded International Bridles Our Padded International Bridle has a beautifully raised and lined noseband and browband. The noseband comes with a pull back fastening and is available as a flash or cavesson. The International Bridle comes in four finishes - leather lined, nubuck lined, white lined and Patent trim. The bridle is available as a cavesson, flash or double with the options of regular, padded or Grand Prix headpieces. 9 Padded International Bridle Options Nubuck Lined The nubuck lined version of the Padded International Bridle is available as a cavesson, flash or double. Nubuck is a soft leather with a suede nap. Cavesson shown with a regular headpiece, diamanté browband and as a double. Patent trim Patent leather is used as a trim in black only. The bridle is available as a cavesson, flash or double. White Lined For those who want their bridle to stand out, this white lined version is both comfortable and striking. The bridle is available as a cavesson, flash or double. 10 Bridles Options All our bridles come with a regular headpiece as standard, along with a matching browband and noseband and a choice of cheek pieces. BUT nothing is standard with a Kate Negus Bridle, we build the perfect bridle to fit your horse and your taste, so you get a bespoke bridle each time you buy from us! Grand Prix Headpiece The Grand Prix headpiece provides the horse with an exceptionally comfortable bridle that has a classic look. The shaped headpiece comes with an integral hanger for the noseband, meaning that there s very little poll pressure. Despite the innovative design, the bridle still looks like a traditional one, it s just the horse s comfort is enhanced. It can be used with all our nosebands and made up as a cavesson, flash or double. Flash - leather lined flash bridle with a Grand Prix headpiece. Nosebands All nosebands come with a double buckle feature on the headpiece hangers, which means that it can use with the Grand Prix headpiece, but with an additional headpiece strap, it can also be used with a regular headpiece too. 11 Double Bridle Conversion Kit A double bridle is simply a cavesson bridle with an additional hanger for the second bit! This means that your beloved Kate Negus cavesson bridle can become a double with the addition of a few extra pieces. You will need either Slip head Used in conjunction with a regular headpiece to provide the additional cheek pieces OR 1/2 hook stud cheeks Used in conjunction with a padded headpiece to provide the additional cheek pieces. This is done by taking off the throat lash and adding the cheeks to that hanger. If you re not sure how to convert your bridle, give us a call or visit us on our show stand and we ll tell you exactly what you need! Flash Bridle Conversion Kit If you need a flash or you d like to try one out on your horse, the Flash Bridle Conversion Kit is the perfect way to do this, at minimal expense. All you need to buy is our Adapter and Flash Strap. These two pieces work together and attach to a cavesson bridle. Specialised Bridlework Half Work Bridle Back by popular demand! The well known bridle that makes everyone s life so much easier. The bigger clips allow you to switch between lungeing and riding in seconds. Especially useful when breaking and first fitting a bit. Just add your preferred noseband. Clip reins are also available in Rubber Grip or X Suregrip. Combination or Lever Noseband The Combination or Lever Noseband is a highly effective noseband for the wiser, older horse who seems intent on running you both into trouble. The front leather piece is re-enforced with metal to prevent it stretching.

12 Our Bespoke Service When we say we offer a bespoke service for you and your horse...we really do mean it! We ve designed our range to make it easy for you to pick and choose the pieces that fit your horse and match your style, but if you can t find what you re looking for, just call us and explain what you need. As we make everything in the UK, we have complete control over the process and design all our pieces ourselves, so if you want a one off piece, we re able to do it! Some examples of what we can do... We made this browband for a customer whose horse was sensitive about his ears - its has clips at both sides to make fitting easy. Clip-on browband Patent browband with diamanté crystals This patent leather browband can be customised with crystal - you choose the number you want and where you want them. Why not add a white lining? We can deliver a bridle that exceeds your expectations! We ve created lots of bespoke pieces over our 25 years in the business. We ve changed throat lashes on our padded headpieces, we ve put different size back straps on our pull pack fastening nosebands, we ve changed the size of the flash strap on flash noseband. We know that no horse is average, and we re here to create the best bridle for you. 16 Reins Our reins have been made with strength and style in mind. They come with a variety of fittings. Jumping reins are fitted with leather martingale stops. All are available in black and chestnut to match the bridlework and are 5/8 width unless otherwise stated X-Suregrip A very popular soft rein with excellent grip. The rubber grip is laminated onto a nylon core for strength. It is then securely stitched onto our top quality English leather. All reins come with leather martingale stops and three fittings. Eventa A high quality leather rein covered with Equus Eventa rubber - a smooth rubber with incredible grip. Available with buckle ends and martingale stops. Rubber High quality leather reins are covered with Equus rubber. Available in three fittings plus martingale stops. Half Rubber An English leather rein with a hard wearing rubberised backing that has been glued and stitched in place. Available with either hook stud or buckle ends. Webbing with rubber grip A 3/4 web rein with rubberised strands woven into the webbing for increased grip. Available with buckle ends and martingale stops. Leather Laced Traditional laced reins as favoured by the dressage and showing world. Available with hook stud fitting. Plain Leather High quality leather rein available in 1 /2 widths with the hook stud fitting.

18 Breastplates Please note our sizes are generous. Pony/Cob will size will fit from a 14hh to a 15hh. Cob up to 16.1hh. Full size up to 17.1hh. P Five Point Breastplate To ensure the saddle s stability, this breastplate attaches by the wither, by the girth and under the belly. It is highly adjustable to get the best fit. The shoulder is protected by a padded leather guard and there are strong elastic inserts to allow free movement in the shoulder when galloping and jumping. Registered design to Kate Negus Saddlery. Three Point Elasticated Breastplate The Elasticated Breastplate is made using our elastic on either side of the horse s neck to allow greater shoulder movement. Wither straps clip onto the saddle Ds. We have raised and lined the wither strap to match our bridles. Three Point Leather Breastplate An all leather version of the Elasticated Breastplate. Retaining the raised central section and sized with the requirements of eventers in mind. Clips allow you to remove it quickly when needed. The shoulder straps are fully adjustable. Martingale Attachments The Running Attachment is clipon and fully adjustable. The Standing Attachment is also clip-on and has a piece of elastic included in the design for extra movement.

19 Martingales Running Martingale Our Running Martingale has a discreetly placed D ring on the underside to allow you to attach either a standing martingale attachment, draw reins or other equipment should you wish. Breast girths Standing Martingale A traditional design favoured on the hunting field. Racing Elasticated Breast Girth A more classic design favoured by the eventing and racing sector. Jumping Breast Girth A simple jumping collar made in our elastic with plenty of adjustment on the leather straps that sit between breast girth and clips. Leather Breast Girth A beautiful piece of leatherwork made to match the International Bridle. The soft leather brings added comfort to this traditional design.

20 Girths and Leathers All our girths are made from the softest hide and are elasticated at both ends. They are available in black and chestnut to match all other Kate Negus tack. We keep regular girth sizes in stock but if you need a girth that s bigger or smaller than our size range, we can make this for you for a small additional fee. Atherstone Girth Our Atherstone has extra padding and is lined with soft hide for extra comfort. Riders have found that the slightly wider bearing surface of the girth reduces the more common girthing problems. With the added benefit of elastic at both ends which is highly recommended by saddle fitters. Long Stud Girth Designed to give ultimate performance, incorporating a strong leather stud guard into our beautifully soft Atherstone girth. We have cut away extra shoulder room to make an even better fit. Dressage Girth Our Dressage Girth is shaped to allow greater movement and has extra padding. Made from the softest hide for greater comfort to the horse and elasticated at either end. Short Stud Girth Designed with one of our riders, this girth has the same size of kicking plate as the Long Stud Girth and the same buckles as our very successful Dressage Girth. Stud Guard We have shaped this guard not to flap! Our classic Stud Guard gives good all round protection. Also available in pony size.

21 Stirrup Leathers Best Leathers Best leathers are made using the best quality English leather with stainless steel buckles. Available in three lengths 48 (junior), 54 and 60. Laminated Leathers We have bonded nylon web onto the back of our best leathers. The result is a leather with all the look of show leathers, but they will never stretch. Available in three lengths 48 (junior), 54 and 60. Training Aids Calf Skin Leathers Our laminated Calfskin leathers combine a strong nylon core with the softest calfskin leather. Ideal for riders with calfskin saddles or those who prefer softer leathers. These will not stretch. Available in 54 only. Leather Draw Reins Our Leather Draw Reins are made from our best bridle leather, have brass fittings and an elastic belly loop. German Side Reins These side reins work in a similar fashion to draw reins, by encouraging the horse to lower its poll and improve self balance. These side reins come with a belly loop as standard. Available in chestnut only. Elastic Inserts Side Reins A traditional side rein with elasticated inserts. Available in chestnut only. All our side reins are made from top quality leather with full adjustment facility and clips at either end of the rein.

22 Accessories Stud Ring The stainless steel ring fits around the nose and offers complete control. Extremely useful for strong or difficult horses giving them immediate respect for you. Used by leading studs throughout the world - many will not let stallions cover without it. Also used by leading remedial horse specialists. Lead Chain The Leather Lead Chain has a brass chain and a loop at the end. Total overall length 2.20m. Balance Strap The Balance Strap fits onto the Ds at the front of saddle and acts like a handle. Useful when riding young horses or to encourage a deeper seat in dressage. Double Ds A simple device which slips over the stirrup bars to create additional D rings. Stockdale Curb As used by Tim Stockdale. This is an ingenious way of converting any bit into a curb bit.

23 Accessories Neck Strap This Neck Strap is designed for the job with keepers to prevent excess flapping around the horse s neck. Ideal for competition and riding at home, it has a brass buckle, plenty of adjustment and one size fits all. Can be used for BD needs. German Hackamore German (Special order only) A Kate Negus Special. A professional s piece of kit. English Leather Hackamore English Leather Hackamore with brass buckles. It has a padded noseband for extra comfort, with buckle adjustment, so one size really does fit all! Available in one size only. Oakwood Our leather has been tanned specially for us. It should be cleaned with a warm damp cloth and then rubbed over with a leather balsam. We recommend the Oakwood Leather Conditioner. Do not use glycerine saddle soap or oil. The Kate Negus elastic can be sponged or scrubbed with a nail brush with warm water and a little soap to clean it. Oakwood - Australian products using natural ingredients.
