1 PRESS RELEASE VR Classics February FEI World Cup Dressage - Helen does it again Neumünster The seventh station of the FEI World Cup Dressage has been won by Helen Langehanenberg from Billerbeck. The Team European Champion, who is nearly six months pregnant, won the Grand Prix Freestyle with 16-year-old Hanoverian Damsey FRH in the VR Bank Neumünster Prize with a score of percent. I am completely satisfied and delighted, and can just go with the flow now", concluded the Westphalian rider who, with previous wins in 2012, 2013 and 2014, is now celebrating her fourth World Cup Freestyle victory in Neumünster's Holstenhalle. First of all I would like to express my thanks for this tournament which is so brilliantly organised and has such a fantastic audience", enthused Langehanenberg, flanked by her runner up - team colleague Dorothee Schneider from Framersheim. In the packed-out Holstenhalle the spectators on Sunday morning were once again practically "in the saddle" with the competitors... Ghislain Fouarge, Head Judge for the Grand Prix Freestyle, went even further: "I believe that the best dressage audience in the world is here in Neumünster." For 32 years the international VR Classics tournament has played host to the FEI World Cup Dressage, and for about 20 years the World Cup competition has been presented by the VR Bank Neumünster. Director Dirk Dejewski emphasised the link: "We not only have fun here, meeting lots of people and inviting our clients. This event is also down-to-earth and that suits us well. And even better, sometimes our clients are successful in the competition Dorothee Schneider had let slip to Dirk Dejewski that she is a VR Bank customer. For the victor, Langehanenberg, the Neumünster World Cup stage was her final competition before starting her maternity leave. Dorothee Schneider, who after coming second in Neumünster with twelve-year-old Sammy Davis jn. is now in second place in the current Western European League standings with 72 points, now has her sights set firmly on Paris. It is there that the Final of the FEI World Cup Dressage will take place from 10th to 15th April. Daniel Bachmann Andersen (Denmark), who came third in Neumünster and has now moved into fourth place in the league, is also looking ahead to the World Cup Final. I was really pleased with Blue Horse Zack. We re now concentrating on the Final in Paris.

2 Only one competitor in the World Cup Freestyle suffered a case of bad luck. Spain s Morgan Barbancon Mestre had changed her freestyle routine at the last minute, but unfortunately had not passed her new sequence onto the FEI-IT Administration in Neumünster. The freestyle routine of each competitor is recorded and given to the judges before the competition as a basis for assessment. The organisers gave the Spaniard the chance to start again with her amended routine. Judge Ghislain Fouarge: I think she must be very grateful to have been given this chance. The three best competitors achieved scores of more than 80 percent in the Grand Prix Freestyle. The high standard of the competitors from 13 different countries was also reflected in other details: Scoring 75 percent in Neumünster put you in eighth place, while only one competitor achieved a score of less than 70 percent. Premiere success - Christopher Kläsener wins the Volksbanken and Raiffeisenbanken Grand Prix He has only known the horse for a month and a half, it is his first time at the VR Classics, and it all feels pretty darn great: Christopher Kläsener, a 23-year-old show-jumper from the Kutscher and Bitter Stables in Bad Essen, has won the prestigious Volksbanken and Raiffeisenbanken Grand Prix - a competition steeped in history - with mare Cassandra. The mare, a daughter of Clearway, is just nine years old. Paul Schockemöhle had also been interested in the mare. I was thinking just yesterday - ask about Cassandra - but then I wanted to wait instead reported the VR Classics chief with a grin. Christopher Kläsener, who comes from one of several Westphalian families rooted in equestrian sport, works as a trainer at the stables of top rider Marco Kutscher and six-time German Master Eva Bitter. Last year I had the fastest time but one fault, remembers Lahde, and I knew for certain that I wanted to improve on that this year. Behind the two men came Clarissa Crotta from Switzerland, who for many years lived in Breitenburg, claiming third place with SGW Lord Poldy. Crotta took the opportunity to express her thanks not only to Paul & Bettina Schockemöhle for allowing her to compete, but also for a really brilliantly organised tournament with a very special audience. You can just tell that the people here have a huge passion for sport and breeding. A fact that Dr. Michael Brandt (Volksbanken and Raiffeisenbanken Schleswig-Holstein) also emphasised - the close involvement with sport and breeding. The Volksbanken

3 and Raiffeisenbanken have been a partner of the VR Classics for around four decades - a truly unique involvement. Joy over growing numbers Paul Schockemöhle & Ullrich Kasselmann, organisers of the VR Classics since 2009, have been able to report with satisfaction growing visitor numbers. The number of spectators was up by almost 500, bringing the total to 38,600. An increase which, above all, was brought about by Friday evening s programme. It has traditionally always been very full in the Holstenhallen on Saturdays and Sundays, with hosts of horse fans cramming into Hall 5 to watch the FEI World Cup Dressage and the Grand Prix on the big screen. Holstenhalle 1 is always sold out, with every last seat filled. Neumünster s VR Classics has once again put in an application with the FEI world federation for the Dressage World Cup and Kasselmann and Schockemöhle have a strong case to put forward, and a calm but attentive attitude to the discussions. Beautiful, strong, victorious - sh:z Youngster Final The winning pair in the opening test of the the Youngster Tour were also top of the pack in the sh:z Youngster Final. Alexa Stais from South Africa piloted seven-year-old Dynamit Nobel KW to victory in the final. I m telling you, he s a girl s dream come true - handsome and totally uncomplicated, he concentrates, he s really easy to handle, loves his food., laughed the show-jumper happily. The system of the youngster tests is good, it allows horses to be trained and presented in a way that s appropriate to their age. In South Africa there s nothing comparable, highlighted the winner. Felix Haßmann lands double victory in Neumünster Felix Haßmann had a top day in the Holstenhallen on Saturday. First the Westphalian rider won the Neumünster Championship with Cayenne WZ, and then in the evening he claimed another victory - this time in a world-ranking show-jumping test with SIG Captain America. The 32 year old won the Performance Sales International Prize with the nine-year-old gelding.
