4 Friday April 20th the First Annual Midwest Watchmen Rally 2012 started out with a bang. Literally I mean a bang. Shooting started later that day at targets and clay pigeons after the Basic Medical Trauma Courses was over. Sauerkraut was awesome with his class proving to be a valuable asset in the medical field. When we think about shooting, several things we have to focus on, the first and foremost is gun safety. Always knowing the status of our weapons, and keeping them pointed down range to prevent any accidents. The Watchmen understand this basic fundamental and ensured a safe event. Basic marksmanship skills were taught to those that were not sure or never fired a weapon before. Sigmund and a few others showed up in time to the next following day to learn from Rotorwash on the Helicopter Rescue Training Class. Sauerkraut finished up the afternoon with his Advance Medical Trauma Classes then he had to head off into the Wild West to get back home. Saturday was still alive and hopping as Gary and Becky joined the team, driving all the way from Omaha. Bulldog was able to give them a complete overview of WOA and they returned home excited they found a group to rally with and call friends. Ragdoll also showed up with more wheels than most of us put together. It s always nice having a mobile house that doubles up as a work truck. Stryder and Alora headed up the cooking for the evening meal. After getting everything cooked and prepped we ate Western Burgers, Hot dogs, Cooked Beans, Potatoes Salad, and Buttered Squash. As the evening wore one the Watchmen enjoyed fellowship around the fire while Wally headed up a discussion group with ideas on how to make the organization better, and looking at critical skills that everyone had. Patriot Radio channel went live first with Stryder as a guest speaker, and then Sigmund filled in for the rest of the show. Trying to keep everyone updated with the day s events of training and later the show progressed to other topics. Sunday started out early with a Cowboy Church Service and taking the flag to half mast for a fallen vet. This vet was known by Mrs B and Rotorwash. Later that afternoon the flag was retired for the day, rendered the honors and folded and presented to Rotorwash along with 3 bullets for the fallen vet in behalf of Rotorwash. Alora presented a class on recognizing certain plants that were edible, how to prepare them for a meal and if there was any herbal value to the plants. The event ended later in the afternoon as most of the members had to head out for work.
