Secrets of the Kadochnikov System Striking Technique You ll know from this special report how using some simple principles of the Kadochnikov system to quickly acquire the art of unique strikes fast, sharp and sudden. And it s not only about some secrets but about a scientific approach to the understanding of the processes which happen while hand-to-hand fighting. Very soon we ll get to the secrets of the Kadochnikov system striking technique those unique peculiarities which make it a very powerful weapon, but first it it s necessary to say a couple of words about the circumstances in which you may need it If you haven t yet heard a song by Vladimir Vysotskiy About a boxer who could box but didn t like it, then listen to it. A real story, which has happened recently to Alexander T. a famous martial and hand-to-hand fighting artist, pictures it vividly. Every morning he trains in the park which is not far from his office. One of the training exercises is knife throwing. He made a wooden target especially for it which is located so that the park visitors don t even notice it. After several failed attempts to knock out Alexander, all of a sudden the man fell on his knees breathing heavily and wheezed out the words: Kill me His energy was up only during the first ten seconds. If you think that we ve given you these examples in order to say that it s possible not to use strikes in self-defence situations, then you re wrong. You need strikes, they are vitally important. But the question is how to master such striking technique which is not only efficient but also doesn t require much energy which you may not happen to have in such a situation? Let me once again cite Vladimir Vysotskiy, this time his song About a longdistance runner : One should use self-control if energy is not enough, but I got carried away. I broke into a run for a ten thousand meter distance as if it were five hundred and got exhausted. My breath as I was warning myself let me down. I ran only two circles and fell down it was a pity. 5 The Kadochnikov system approach to any situation initially presupposes a chance for the development of the most undesirable scenario, as with those ten thousand and not five hundred, that s why special attention is paid in it to the force and energy economy of a person. That s why the Kadochnikov system striking technique has clear distinctive features the basis of which is a combination of scientific principles and practical application with regard to the real life situations in which one may need it. While mastering the Kadochnikov system striking technique the following is taken into consideration: A strike as a physical phenomenon is a short-time interaction of two (or more) bodies as a result of which great forces emerge. While counter motion when the bodies strike (collide with each other) their speeds are increased. The less the distance of a strike, all other things being equal, the stronger its destroying effect. Time of a strike depends directly on the body mass and mutual coincidence and has inverse dependence on the strike force. A strike is a powerful means of sudden defeat of an opponent and often but not always it affects the result of the fight. 6. Strikes have three main drawbacks: it s difficult to measure a strike;

6 while striking one may injure themselves and that will lead to a lower fighting capacity; clothes (especially winter) and outfits protect well from many types of strikes; 7. All strikes should be fast and sudden. Their efficiency depends on the steady position at the moment of striking, ability to create momentum and the right choice of the point you aim your strike at. So, as we ve already covered the main ideas, now we can have a look at some other specific peculiarities of the Kadochnikov system striking technique, such as the wave principle of strike energy formation, a method of rigidity building when transferring the strike energy and the principle of maximum use of motion energy of a strike. An important outstanding feature of the Kadochnikov system striking technique is the use of the wave principle of strike energy formation. According to this principle the strike motion is formed by the largest parts of the body a wave flows from the thighs and pelvis through the shoulder to the arms. The wave is formed by the momentum of these huge parts of the body with a comparatively low speed and amplitude, which flows through the body thanks to the relaxed muscles from the part of the body that starts the motion to the striking part of an extremity. The key principle in the wave striking technique is the ability to work while being relaxed According to the laws of physics thanks to the wave motion there happens the transferring of energy from the comparatively low speed

7 motion of the huge parts of the body to the high speed motion of the striking parts of extremities. In physics classes at school this phenomenon is illustrated by the example of a whip a comparatively calm motion of the whip handle allows a hypersonic speed at its end! The same happens while transferring the energy of the strong but not very fast momentum of the thighs to the striking parts of the hands with comparatively little muscle effort one can get powerful hand strikes with high destroying capacity. The key principle in the wave striking technique is the ability to work while being relaxed, without tensing the muscles if not needed, because if your muscles are tough, the initial momentum is used to cope with the body resistance; in this case it fades in the toughened muscles and the striking part doesn t get enough momentum. That s why your stance, which we were talking about in the previous section, shouldn t be tense. If the wave strike is performed correctly, the initial momentum of the motion, for example of the pelvis, is transferred in the form of a wave along the torso to the arm. According to the law of conservation of momentum when the wave is transferred from the torso to the extremity, the mass of the extremity, which takes part in the wave motion, in comparison to the torso mass drops dramatically; the speed of the moving extremity increases suddenly. Having transferred the wave to the hand and making it rigid enough in the moment of contact, we ll get a sudden and lashing strike. The method of rigidity building, when transferring the strike energy through the striking surfaces, is another peculiarity The initial momentum can be created by the motions of the pelvis, torso or other parts of the body, which are a result of defensive strikes, escaping the attack plane or final stage of the previous attack

8 of the Kadochnikov system striking technique. The rigidity in the point of contact is achieved not due to the tension or straining of the striking part of the body (as is typical for example for the striking technique of many eastern martial arts, when the fist and wrist are tensed right before a strike) but due to switching off of the joints degrees of freedom thanks to twisting in the joints linkages. The initial momentum can be created by the motions of the pelvis, torso or other parts of the body, which are a result of defensive strikes, escaping the attack plane or final stage of the previous attack. After a strike is performed, one returns to the initial state thanks to the same wave motion using the recoil momentum. The return motion after the direct strike is used as an initial momentum for the next strike or another action. Another important principle of the Kadochnikov system striking technique is the maximum use of the energy of motion in strikes. As a result of this principle there is a minimum quantity of useless extremities motions in the Kadochnikov system, i.e. the motions that are not used in the attacks against your opponent or in the defence against his strikes. The further realization of this principle is the combination of the defence and attack motions. Other peculiarities of the striking technique are quite obvious for the specialist. One should strike while breathing out, positioning the striking surface at one and a half times beyond the target, squatting, making a step with a half step at the moment of contact with the opponent and twisting the striking surface at the point of contact. 9 the longitudinal axis of the striking surface, they should be aimed at the pressure points, painful zones (see further) or unprotected parts of the body under the angle of 45 to the target. Accuracy of a strike depends on a well-developed feeling of a distance. The right choice of the distance is 1/3 of the victory. One should remember that the drawback of the arm strikes is the possibility to injure one s arm. An arm is the part of the body that one is supposed by the nature to use in order to grab something, not to beat with it. The finger joints are too fragile to sustain a powerful hand strike. If one decides to use a strike in a fight, it should be done without mistakes. There is no place for rush and flaws. There are no wrong strikes in hand-to-hand fighting; the right strikes are only those that help you to defeat your opponent. There is only one way to reduce the chance of having your arm injured while striking one should study strikes and train them constantly. The energy and kinematics of leg strikes are based on the same principles as arm strikes. When striking with legs the striking surfaces can be: the base of the toes, a heel, the upper part of the arch of the foot, the outer and inner edges of the foot or the heel area. When striking with legs in footwear one should maximize the use of their properties, and first of all the rigid edges. For example, a strike with the base of the toes (barefoot or in footwear) has a comparatively low pain effect. The same strike performed with the rand angle of the footwear with a rigid sole (for example, shoes or army boots) leads to sharp pain, which will disorientate your opponent and even make him feel shocked. All strikes should be fast, sharp and sudden. Their efficiency in all the cases depends on the steady position in the moment of striking, the ability to create momentum and the right choice of the point you aim your strike at.
