2 Introduction introduction 2007 brings another excellent year for Panaracer products. We have several new products in the pipeline that will continue to deliver the quality products and cycling performance you have come to expect from Panaracer products. On the road side we ve great news with our EVO2 racing clincher and our sponsorship of the Milram Pro Tour professional cycling team. Alessandro Petacchi and Eric Zabel are the co-leaders of this team. The team is equipped with the fantastic new EVO2 and will be racing and training on this tire during the coming seasons. The EVO2 is an excellent tire for racing on the roads of Europe. Not only is the tread capable of handling many types of road surfaces, the compound of the EVO2 is adept on hot or cold, wet or dry surfaces. It is truly an all condition tire in the truest sense of the word. MTB and urban tire offerings for the coming year include the following products. Razer XC and MX are our newest racing XC and marathon tires. Rampage is our latest and greatest all-mountain tire. Last but equally important is our new UFF DA! It is a great urban jumping tire that can conquer all types of radical urban riding environments. Cyclists keep coming back again and again to Panaracer tires, tubes and accessories. Please have a look through our catalog and find out what happens when technology, sport and passion meet at the contact patch of a bicycle tire and you will understand why cyclists continue to return to Panaracer. panaracer The company Formed in 1948, Panaracer began manufacturing rubber products for a variety of commercial and consumer applications. In 1978 we began to exclusively produce bicycle tires so we could carefully focus on producing the finest tires available today. Without a doubt, Panaracer is the last Japanese manufacturer still producing bicycle tires in Japan. We feel that our domestic production allows us to keep our quality control at the highest levels. On staff we have seven full time R&D engineers constantly researching compounds, tread patterns and casing technology. Additionally, there is a emphasis on cutting-edge CAD tread and profile development. This advanced first stage of tire creation allows us to quickly advance new tire designs and product development. We are also constantly upgrading our molds and bladders, both important tools for producing reliable cutting-edge rubber products. For the tire production itself, we use only the finest hand-picked raw materials to create our casings and compounds. When those material choices are combined with our patented technology, the end result is the finest tires that you can cycle on today. In the 28 plus years of exclusively focusing on bicycle tire design, we ve created some of the most ground-breaking tires ever used by cyclists. Smoke and Dart are such an example of that history. These models left such an indelible mark on MTB tire performance that they are still in production today due to their continued popular demand and their trend setting performance. compound R&D We devote many resources to R&D to develope new compound technology. This is a very important aspect of or product development. For example, our newly developed Tangent Delta Technology mixes a perfect blend of silica and carbon to provide a groundbreaking combination of strong grip and low rolling resistance. We call this compound ZSG. It makes use of a special high-performance polymer that form the core of the Tangent Delta Technology. We have developed two types of ZSG compound, each with a special purpose.

3 compound TECH ZSG Ultima provides incredible grip in wet or dry road conditions and superior handling performance. ZSG Ultima will wear at least 10% longer without sacrificing any riding performance. The new ZSG Natural formula integrates more natural rubber into the compound. This compound has the same low rolling resistance as the premium compound and it has enhanced wear resistance making it perfect for a long wearing training tire. Adding silica compounds to tire treads vastly improves tire life, increased durability and grip. We use this proprietary compound in our butyl tubes to enhance butyl s natural benefits. The result is a tube that has the best balance of weight to strength while providing an exceptional road feel. Casing TECH A super supple proprietary casing. This incredibly strong casing is layered in a 3-Dimensional configuration to provide great road feel while protecting you from objects that may cut your tires. Tough and lightweight compared to other protective casings on the market. Excellent for training or racing. 3D Casing Inner Layer Outer Layer This is a lighter and stronger casing. The density of the fiber is 1.5 times as much as normal tire casings. Pinch flat protection is 1.6 times improved. Side cut protection is 2.6 times improved. The surface of this casing is very smooth. It helps prevent punctures when the tube rubs against the casing. cord TECH The cord used to create tire casings is perhaps the most important component of bicycle tire technology. The casing is the part of the tire that holds all the different elements of the tire together. BAX technology uses extremely narrow 0.14 diameter cord which is weaved at a super high density into the casing for lightness and flexibility. This increased density improves resistance to cuts and abrasions. 800D polyamide cord is nearly twice as strong as the cord used in conventional tires. It improves rigidity, pinch flat and side cut protection. 400D Cord technology improves side cut resistance of your tire while improving the rigidity during cornering. mtb tread TECH Panaracer s exclusive Multi-Step knobs have various heights designed into each knob These stepped knobs help tires to perform in all conditions from hard to soft. Short big knobs are specially designed to provide an excellent ride that also delivers the lightest weight full knobby MTB tires. 3D Knobs are designed to perform multi-directionally and are located on the tire sides. They are positioned in multiple directions to help maintaining traction and durability while riding on the side knobs. 3D KNOBs upgrade TECH When you see the ASB logo, it means that the tire has a proprietary anti-rebound rubber strip that reduces the chance of pinch flats by an average of 40%! Tourguard is an Aramid fiber belt placed under the tread to improve puncture resistance without increasing tire weight or sacrificing performance. PR is a puncture resistant belt placed under the tread. It is lightweight and uses a strong fiber composition to achieve its puncture resistance capabilities. The Universal Tubeless System was developed by Mavic. UST allows you to run tubeless tires at a lower pressure for excellent traction and control.
