2 Overview: The 2015 WORS Cup Pro XCT is a Class 1 UCI XCO event. This Technical Guide covers the procedures for the Elite Men s and Women s Race scheduled July 25th, Elite Cross Country Race Description: The WORS Cup Pro XCT XCO is part of the USA Cycling 2015 Pro XCT. The cross country event will feature most of the top North American professional cross country mountain bike racers male and female- including some who represented the United States and Canada in the 2012 Summer Games in London. The course is of the modern World Cup model with repetitive technical climbs and descents mixing wooded singletrack with sections of alpine ski trail and some open dirt road. This course has a bit of everything and racers will be challenged by the quickness and repetitiveness of the rhythm changes. This race is not to be underestimated because it is not at altitude the pace of this course and speed will push racers to their limits. Lap length: 5.0 kilometers miles +/- Elite Men will race for 1.5 to 1.75 hours, six to seven laps. Elite Women will race for 1.5 to 1.75 hours, five to six laps. Elite Course map with venue layout attached. Event Rules/Licenses: The WORS Cup Pro XCT shall offer two UCI categories; Elite Men and Elite Women. UCI Regulations shall be enforced for both Elite fields and the UCI Scale of Penalties shall apply. Valid UCI international licenses are required for both the Elite Men and Women. Holders of UCI international licenses that do not bear a photograph will be required to present an approved and valid government photo ID in addition to their UCI license. Foreign riders need to hold written authorization from their national federation to race outside of their country. Entry Procedures/Limitations: Registration must be completed online Prior to midnight Monday July 20th, 2015 or on-site prior to 5:00 PM Friday July 24th, See the WORS Cup website, for more details. The Elite entry fee, for both men and women is available online at Athlete Packet Pick-up: On-site Packet Pick-up begins Thursday, July 23rd from 2-4 PM and continues Friday, July 24th from 2:00-5:00 PM at the venue, Cascade Mountain, Portage, Wisconsin. Racers will be required to present their UCI license and proper identification to pick-up their race number. Elite packet pick-up will be available until one hour before the men s and women s races respectively, however no new registrations will be accepted after Friday, july 24th, 2015 at 5:00 PM cdt

3 Training Period(s): The Elite course will be available for pre-riding Thursday, July 23rd from 2:30 to 6 PM. The official training period is Friday, July 24th from 12 PM until 5 PM. All racers must display their race number during training. Race Times: Elite Women Staging: 1:10 PM - Elite Women Start: 1:30 PM, Saturday, July 25th Elite Men Staging: 3:40 PM Elite Men Start: 4:00 PM, Saturday, July 25th Elite Athlete/Team Managers Meeting: This meeting is scheduled for Friday July 24th at 6:00 PM near the Athlete Registration area. Tech/Feed Zone Passes will be distributed at this meeting and will be required for entrance to either zone during Saturday s elite XCO event. Start Area/Rider Call-ups: The start line for the elite cross-country is located uphill from the ski hill lodge above the expo area at Cascade Mountain. UCI Elites will be staged approximately fifteen minutes prior to start time. Racer call-ups will be per the last UCI individual mountain bike XCO classification published before the race. Followed by 2015 USA Cyling Pro XCT standing. Unclassified riders will stage by draw lots. A call-up list will be posted at on the results scoreboards by 11:00 AM on the morning of the race. Technical/Feed Zones: One Technical/Feed Zone will be located approximately 1K from the start and another approximately 1k from the start/lap/finish point. The Tech and Feed Zones will be divided into an area for UCI Teams and another for individual riders. Members of teams not registered with the UCI are treated as individual riders. There will be NO neutral technical support, but there WILL BE neutral water available in the Feed Zone. Professional category racers will be awarded UCI points based upon their race finish. Professional category racers will be awarded UCI XCO C1 points. Results will be submitted to the UCI by the Chief Commissaire within 2 hours of the race finish on Saturday. Preliminary results will be posted near the main Awards area. Upon final approval from the UCI Chief all results will be final and posted in the same location. The 80% rule will be in effect - all riders deemed out of contention by the Chief may be pulled from the race. Any pulled rider will be given their appropriate placing in the official results

4 Podium, Prize Money, and Top Finishers: Prize money will be awarded in US dollars to the top 10 places equally for men and women, For a total prize purse of $6560 (US dollars). Place earning are as follows: 1st place - $750, 2nd - $610, 3rd - $485, 4th - $365, 5th - $305, 6th - $245, 7th - $185, 8th - $155, 9th - $125, 10th - $80. The WORS Cup will pay an additional field size premium for 11th thru 15th place should either field exceeds 50 racers, with 11th place paying $65, 12th - $60, 13th - $55, 14th - $50 and 15th - $45. After posting of the final results by the UCI Chief, the top 5 Elite Men and Elite Women MUST immediately report to the main Awards area. Failure to report in a timely fashion will result in forfeiture of prize money. All prize money must be claimed and signed for by the placing athlete while attending of the official Pro XCT awards ceremony at the event. The women s Awards Ceremony is at 3:30 pm and the men s is at 6:00 pm. Failure to attend the awards ceremony will result in forfeiture of any and all prize money. USADA Anti-Doping: All standard Anti-Doping Procedures are in effect. The numbers of riders chosen will be posted on the main announcing stage located at the start/finish line. The Doping Control station will be located in the venue. The exact location will be identified at the Team Managers meeting. Top Elite Men and Women finishers will report to the podium presentation first and then to anti-doping. Organizational Structure Event Manager Don Edberg, course design, competition program, promotion, public relations, award ceremonies, police, coordination with the UCI / host Federation, etc. Marketing Manager Todd Nutter, pre-event marketing, preparation of brochures, pre and post-event press releases. Technical Manager Barry Edberg, course layout and marking, security, location of and routes spectator zones, design and development on the site. Operations Coordinator Alexis Edberg, supervises registration, recruits and coordinates volunteers, and oversees awards. Onsite Volunteer Coordinator Connie Holcomb, coordinates the preparation, education, transport, and allocation of volunteers. USADA Liasons Doug and Sherry Lynch Registration Coordinator Melissa Budde supervise all the registration operations on site, record the payment of the registration fees and classify each registration, distribute of the handlebar number plates and the race numbers, collect waivers and works with the Commissaires Panel as necessary

5 Marshals Coordinator Jon Holcomb, is in charge of staffing, positioning on the circuit, written instructions, equipment: flags, whistles, uniforms, safety of the riders and spectators, checking that the riders follow the right course and complete it in full in the proper way. Feed / Technical Assistance Zone Coordinator Doug Roddenkirch, set up and sign posting, forming and coordinating a team of refreshment providers, maintaining sufficient supplies of water, a range of beverages and food. Works Coordinator Jeremy Condon, setting up the start area and finishing zone, the podium, the zone reserved for awards ceremonies, the terraces, the framework for banners and tent facilities, public address system, the technical area, the VIP area. Awards Ceremony Coordinators Mary Buss, supervises awards ceremony and preparation of awards. Accommodation Coordinator Helmy Tennis, coordination of lodging for staff of the UCI, the host Federation, sponsors, help teams to look for and/or make hotel or lodgings reservations. Medical Coordinator Thomas Rabaglia, will supervises the medical operations and submit reports of first occurrence to the Commissaires Panel regarding all the cases treated. Event Physician Christopher Schmidt, MD Chief of Timing and Scoring Leigh Smith, produces and distributes the start lists then the results, supervises the timing, ranking of the riders, registration and data collection. Media Coordinator Todd Nutter, will ensure that media participation is as extensive as possible, satisfies the needs of the media and sees to it that the necessary resources are provided. Hospitality Coordinator Sherry Edberg, will supervise the planning and coordination of the staff and volunteer meals as well as post-race refreshment for races. Expo and Tech Space Chairman Roy Baily, will coordinate the recruitment, registration, and placement of Pro teams and all exhibitors at the WORS Cup.
