3 1 PRESENTATION OF THE EVENT 1.1 WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS The 2014 UCI Mountain Bike 4X World Championships will take place in Leogang (AUT) during the UCI MTB DHI World Cup. On Saturday June 14th, FINALS 1.2 CATEGORIES The categories for which a world champion title will be awarded as per article are as follows: Men aged 17 and over (from 1997 and before) Women aged 17 and over (from 1997 and before) 1.3 NUMBER OF RIDERS The table of participation quota per nation is available under appendix on page 8. 2 REGISTRATION PROCEDURE 2.1 BEFORE THE EVENT ONLINE REGISTRATION Registration of riders for the 4X World Championships shall be completed only by the National Federation on the UCI website (article ). 4 2.2 AT THE EVENT RIDERS CONFIRMATION/ACCREDITATIONS The riders confirmation and the presentation of the national outfit will take place as follows: Date: Thursday June 12th 2014 Time: Where: Hotel Rupertus, Hütten 40, 5771 Leogang The 2014 UCI MTB World Cup rainbow passes will be valid for the UCI MTB 4X World Championships. Additional accreditations must be requested to the organizer. 3 TEAM MANAGERS MEETING The team managers meeting will take place as follows: Date: Thursday June 12th 2014 Time: Where: Hotel Restaurant Riederalm, Rain 100, 5771 Leogang 4 PROGRAM The program is available under appendix on page 8. Note that an official rider presentation of the best 10 women and men riders will take place on Saturday June 14 th 2014 at to at the finish line. 5 NATIONAL OUTFIT The team managers must present the national jersey to the Commissaires Panel at the riders confirmation The following advertising shall be authorised: front of the jersey: 2 rectangular zones of 64 cm2 maximum; area comprising shoulders and sleeves: strip of maximum 5 cm high; on the sides of the jersey: a 9 cm wide strip; sides of the shorts: a 9 cm wide strip; the manufacturer's label (25 cm2) may appear once only on the jersey and once on each leg of the shorts. Advertising matter on jersey and shorts may vary from one rider to another. The design of the jersey and shorts may vary from one category of rider to another. Advertising on protective leggings worn for downhill mountain bike, trials and BMX events is not subject to the advertising restrictions on shorts. Additionally, the rider's name may appear on the back of the jersey. The above measures also apply to other items of clothing worn during competition (rain jackets, etc.). 5 6 RACE CLOTHING All lycra-elastane based tight-fitting clothing is not permitted A full-face helmet must be worn properly both when racing and when training on the course. The helmet must be fitted with a visor. Open-face helmets may not be worn The UCI strongly recommends that riders wear the following protection: back, elbow, knee and shoulder protectors made of rigid materials; protection for the nape of the neck and the cervical vertebrae; padding on shins and thighs; broad full-length trousers made from rip-resistant material incorporating protection for the knees and calves, or broad-cut shorts made from ripresistant material plus knee and calf protectors with a rigid surface; long sleeved shirt; full finger gloves. During World Championships, art is also applicable: Cameras are not permitted during Qualifying Round and Finals. The riders are responsible for securing the fixation of the cameras in order to avoid any danger. The UCI can decide to allow a camera during finals but only for the usage of the TV production company. In DHI/4X races in Austria, riders must wear the following minimum protection: full-face helmet; back, elbow, knee and shoulder protectors made of rigid materials; full finger gloves; long sleeved shirt 7 OFFICIAL CEREMONIES The following points apply to the official ceremonies: Within 10 minutes following the end of each race (unless otherwise provided and duly recorded in an official communiqué), the World Champion, the second and the third placed riders shall be ready for the official ceremony that shall be conducted under the responsibility of the President of the Commissaires Panel Riders shall appear in racing attire, wearing their national jerseys but bare-headed and without headband or glasses, until they leave the official ceremony enclosure A World Champion may not wear the jersey identifying his title and bearing the regulation advertisement of his main sponsor(s) until, at earliest, the day following that on which he received it. Any infringement of the provisions of the above articles ( to ) shall be punished by a minimum fine of CHF to CHF A higher fine may be imposed depending on the advantage derived from the offence. 8 PRIZE MONEY Men and Women 1 st nd rd 667 UCI Off-Road / MTB Page 5 / 9
