If your metal detector is not working, bring it to a meeting maybe someone will be able to help you get it back to working. It is getting warmer with Spring having arrived. Warning: beware of spiders, snakes, wasps, & other things that crawl, fly and/or hop. Yes fleas can be dangerous, they carry Lime s disease. Michele of the Lost Pines Metal Detector Club in Smithville was bitten on the leg by a spider around March 21 st and still had problems with the bite area more that 2 weeks later. Larry Vickers It is my sad duty to inform you that Louise Clare went to be with God on April 8 th. Please pray for her family. Carrie We could use a total of 6 tables for April s meeting. That is one in front, 3 at back (finds) and 2 on far wall. Thanks.

2 April Meeting Mary and Leon brought your displays back from the TCTC Show. They will be at this (April) meeting. There were many positive comments on our displays at the Club Booth. A Great Big Thanks to Mary, Susie, Daniel and Leon. All the work that went into our Club Booth showed. Now is time to start your displays for next year. This is the time we are planning for the next year. I would like to hear from everyone on what they would like to see in the coming months. We will continue our regular meeting format. Bring to Meeting: To any meeting you may bring: Foreign coins to donate to the Lions Camp hunts for kids Old batteries we have a box and will recycle them for you Pull tabs - we donate to charity Items you want to put on the fund raiser table Executive Meetings The May Board meeting will be at Bill Miller s Bar-B-Q 8700 E. Hwy 290 on Thursday, May 5 th. All are welcome to come join us, eat and participate. Come early to eat, the meeting starts at 6:00. April Board Meeting notes: Lions Camp: June 15 &16. Need foreign coins. Scott may purchase some. Ask members to donate toward purchase at next meeting. Carrie to ask church members to donate. Llano: change silver hunt to Indian head hunt. ****Advertise, clubs, put in treasure magazines. (Larry will do this.) Set up will be Friday and early Saturday (before 10:00 a.m.) open to public Saturday and Sunday; Austin Hunt will be Sunday. No hunting the Expo for April or May. Blaine will check about hunting Lady Bird Park in Fredericksburg and Trade Day area at Wimberley. Web Site: Put membership form DVD on club put on hold.

3 Spreadsheet of magazine articles: excel file to download the articles by subject and other ways. Need to make sure magazines are available. Betty called past members of 2009 and Few have moved away, others had family or work situations. Several said they would be returning. Mary did research on club jackets and hats. Had samples available to show. Will present at the next meeting. Search Team Efforts Since the last meeting we had two requests to search for lost item: 1. Blaine, Scott & Larry looked for a gold stud earring (very small) none of our detectors would pick up the mate to the lost one so we were unable to find it. 2. Scott searched for and found a ring. Hi-Lights of March s Meeting AMDC Meeting March 10, 2011 Ill members: Louise Clare Carol Gans Visitors: Sharon Vaughan Treasure Report: Gained $130. Secretary Report: Read minutes from last meeting. Old Business: TCTC Susie Mireles show the flower seeds packets she made for booth giveaways, and displays with card name and picture. Mary Prause stated the banners are ready. Displays to be taken to TCTC should be given to the Prause s so they can take them to the show. Llano show will be the last week-end in September. The club will have a booth on Saturday and a competition hunt on Sunday. New Business: Lyn Conlee will be speaker in April. Topic will be on prehistoric sharks teeth. Ed Newsome said for May he could get a speaker to talk on marbles. Members need to bring their marbles for identification. Web Site: Mary Prause is doing a great job. If members have any ideas for the site contact her. TCTC fundraiser tickets will be sold tonight at the meeting Since it is getting warmer it was suggested to put in the Newsletter info about safety regarding snake bites, heat stroke, etc.

4 Mark Kubiak gave a program on Storage Unit Auctions. Mark s program was on Storage Unit Auctions. It was very interesting and another way to find treasures.
