A grass fire was also started from the power lines down. Clarissa fire department and Browerville ambulance assisted at the scene. 08/12/18 10:26 COUNTY 21 / 470TH ST, STAPLES, MN Accident Injury On at 0200 Joshua Hingst of Bertha was driving south on county road 21 near Staples in his 2007 Saturn Aura when he swerved to miss a deer and lost control, the car then went off the road hitting a stop sign and rolled several times in a field. Hingst left the scene, he was found later and only had minor injures. 08/11/18 17: COUNTY 14, CLARISSA, MN Lost Property On 8/11/18 Charlet Blommel (57) of rural Clarissa, reported that she had lost her iphone 5 in the Clarissa City park on 8/5/18. 08/09/18 13: PINTO DR, BROWERVILLE, MN Damage to Property On Ryan Sweeney from Sylvan Shores reported that someone had drove and ATV through his yard sometime during the evening of causing damage to this grass. 2 08/07/18 20:17 COUNTY 11 / 464TH ST, ALDRICH, MN Car Deer On the Todd County Sheriff's Office received a report of a car deer crash on County Road 11, near 464th St. It was reported that Timmy Current, age 51, of Aldrich, was traveling southbound in his 2017 Ford pickup truck when a deer entered the roadway, striking the deer and causing damage. It was reported that Current was wearing his seatbelt at the time of the incident and no injuries were reported. Deputy Thiel # /07/18 07:50 155TH AVE / 432ND ST, BERTHA, MN Accident Property On at 0130 hours, edward Boldt, 18, of rural Bertha was driving north on 155th Ave south of Bertha, in his 2005 Chevy Silverado truck when he ran off the road in the curve rolling the truck on is side. Boldt was not injured int he accident. 08/06/18 13: th St, Eagle Bend Suspicious Activity On at 1358 hours, TCSO received a suspicious activity complaint from Gerald Anderson on 330th St in Wykeham TWP. A paving company, Competition Paving, from the state of Missouri, stopped at the Anderson residence trying to sell left over concrete to Anderson at a discounted price. The owner, Leavey Jeffrey, from St. Clair, Missouri, would not provide a verbal price or written estimate to do the job. The company started laying tar which was not what Anderson agreed to. TCSO asks that before companies begin working on your property, get a written estimate to avoid being scammed. 08/05/18 21: AKELA DR, SAUK CENTRE, MN Accident Injury On 5/8/2018 at approximately 2104 hours the Todd County Sheriffs Office received a call of an ATV accident on Akela Drive in Kandota Township. Witnesses stated that the driver of the ATV, later identified as Russell Beilke, was traveling south on Akela drive when he left the roadway and crashed into the trees. Beilke was transported to the Sauk Centre hospital then air lifted to the hospital in St Cloud. Assisting Todd County at the scene were the Minnesota State Patrol, Sauk Centre Police Department, Sauk Centre Fire and Rescue and the Sauk Centre Ambulance. The condition of Beilke's injuries were unknown. The crash is currently under investigation through the Todd County Sheriffs Office. Made by Page 2 of 10
3 08/05/18 14: GILLIS AVE S, BROWERVILLE, MN Theft On 08/05/2018 Robert Toews Jr of Browerville reported the theft of a bug zapper from his residence. Anyone with information is encouraged to contact the Todd County Sheriff's Office at /05/18 10: COUNTY 37, OSAKIS, MN Found Property On at 1037 hours, TCSO received information about a compound bow that was recovered on County 37 in Gordon TWP. The bow is set up for fishing. If you have had a compound bow stolen or you lost one, please call the TCSO at to report the incident. 08/04/18 13:04 COUNTY 10 / GOODWILL DR, LONG PRAIRIE, MN Accident Property On at 1304 hours, TCSO received a call of a one vehicle property damage accident that occurred on County 10 west of Highway 71 in Long Prairie TWP. 64 year old Byron Haskell, Long Prairie, was eastbound on County 10 when he went off the road into the ditch on the north side of the road. Byron was not injured and his Dodge SUV received moderate damage to the front end. 08/04/18 11:56 COUNTY 51 / COUNTY 46, WEST UNION, MN Accident Property On 08/14/2018, Todd County Sheriff's Office received a report of a two vehicle crash near the intersection of County 51 and County 46 in West Union. Myla Hiltner, of rural Osakis, was traveling north in a 2007 Dodge Durango on County 46. The vehicle entered the intersection of County 46 and County 51 and struck a 2000 Ford F-150 driven by Bryan Bliese of Osakis. Both vehicles sustained damage, and there were no injuries in the crash. 08/04/18 07: COUNTY 14, BROWERVILLE, MN Accident Property On 08/04/2018 at 0714 hours, TCSO received a call of a one vehicle accident that occurred on County 14 east of 275th Ave in Hartford Twp sect year old Luke Thayer, Royalton, MN was eastbound on County 14 when he went off the road on the left side. The steep ditch caused his 2012 Chevrolet Colorado truck to roll over. The vehicle received moderate damage. The incident is still under investigation. Made by Page 3 of 10
4 08/02/18 21: COUNTY 89, CLARISSA Car Deer On 8/2/18 at approximately 2121 hours the TCSO received a car deer accident report from Kevin Marstein (54) of rural Browerville. Marstein reported hitting a deer at the address of Co 89. Marstein and his passenger Kimberly Marstein (54) of rural Browerville were uninjured but the 2016 F350 Marstein was driving sustained front end damage. 08/02/18 16: TH ST, STAPLES, MN Suspicious Activity On 8/2/18 Gerald Morse (82) of rural Staples called the TCSO to report a red in color mountain bicycle abandon on 470th St. near Starlight Rd. 08/02/18 07:12 County 14 / 310TH ST, BROWERVILLE, MN Car Deer On at 712 Andrew Vaverek of Browerville was driving a 2002 Chevy Trail Blazer east on county road 14 near the Morrison line when he hit a deer. The SUV had damage to the front end. Vaverek was not injured. 08/01/18 09: CREAMERY AVE N, BROWERVILLE, MN Theft On at 0918 hours, TCSO received a call of a theft that occurred at Big Boyz Truck and Tire in the city of Browerville. Between and , suspects took an LED light bar off a Sno Cat tracked machine parked in the parking lot. A gold color single fold leather wallet was lost somewhere between Browerville and Long Prairie on Caller think she may have set the wallet on the top of the car and drove off forgetting it. 5 07/31/18 09: th St, EAGLE BEND, MN Theft On 07/31/2018 Gerald Anderson of rural Eagle Bend reported that a horse was missing from his pasture. He reported that the horse was a 3 month old male Belgian/Percheron Draft Horse. Anyone with information is encouraged to contact the Todd County Sheriff's Office at /30/18 22:25 COUNTY 86 / COUNTY 89, LONG PRAIRIE, MN Car Deer On 7/30/2018 at approximately 2225 hours Randy Johnson, rural Long Prairie was traveling west on County 86 when he struck a deer with his vehicle. The vehicle sustained front and drivers side damage. Johnson was uninjured in the crash. 07/30/18 19: GALAXY RD, OSAKIS, MN Theft On at 1948 hours, TCSO received a call of a theft that occurred at a residence on Galaxy Road in Leslie TWP sect 23. Between July 20th and July 30th 2018, a hood off an old Ford tractor and hand tools, including a grinder and pipe wrenches, were taken from an outbuilding at the property. If you have information, call the TCSO at The incident is still under investigation. 07/30/18 11:39 COUNTY 79 / 400TH ST, BROWERVILLE, MN Car Deer On 7/30/18 at approximately 11:00A.M., the Todd County Sheriff's Office received a report of a car deer accident on County 79. Jenna Biermaier of Browerville reported that she struck a deer with her GMC Yukon. Biermaier was wearing her seatbelt and not injured during the collision. 07/29/18 21: FITZ RD, BURTRUM, MN Theft On 7/29/18 at approximately 2135 hours, Steven Galligan (54) of rural Burtrum, reported the theft of an 843 Bobcat from his residence. 6 07/29/18 17: ST AVE, STAPLES, MN Theft On 7/29/18 at approximately 1731 hours Valerie Elifrits (52) of rural Staples reported the theft of her 1999 Chevy Tahoe. The Tahoe was recovered undamaged a short time later. 07/28/18 13: County 11, SAUK CENTRE, MN Car Deer On Daniel Martin Abers of St. Cloud was driving a 2005 white Pontiac Montana southbound on County Road 11 near 122nd Street when he was unable to avoid colliding with a deer. The vehicle sustained front end damage and was able to be driven from the scene. 07/28/18 08: MAIN ST S, BROWERVILLE, MN Theft On the Todd County Sheriff's Office took a report of a gas drive off in Browerville. It was learned that the license plate on the suspect vehicle was stolen from another vehicle in Clarissa. The stolen license plate was recovered later that day. If you have any information on the suspect please contact the sheriff's office, (320) /27/18 20: County 24, BERTHA, MN Accident Property On the Todd County Sheriff's Office responded to a motorcycle crash on County Road 24, east of County Road 11. It was reported that Ricky Meyer age 63 assisted a juvenile male in attempting to stop a runaway horse on his 2010 Harley Davidson when the bike had tipped over causing minor injury to the juvenile male party and minor damage to the motorcycle. Deputy Tyler Thiel # /26/18 21:25 COUNTY 11, LONG PRAIRIE, MN Car Deer On at approximately 2125 hours the Todd County Sheriff's Office received a call from Darrell Martin stating that he had struck a deer with his vehicle on County 11. 7 07/26/18 14:36 Amigo Trl / Amigo Dr, GREY EAGLE, MN Theft On it was reported that the street sign at Amigo Trl and Amigo Dr south of Grey Eagle had been stolen. the theft happened about a month ago. 07/24/18 19: TH ST, EAGLE BEND, MN Ambulance On Tuesday July 24th at 7:56 p.m. the Sheriff's Office responded to a report of a male party trapped under a vehicle just north of Eagle Bend in Wykeham Township. The Eagle Bend Fire Department and Bertha Ambulance personnel were able to extricate the victim, Brian Schwanke (47 YOA), from under the vehicle. Schwanke was transported by ambulance to Bertha where they were met by North Air Care. Schwanke was transported to North Memorial Hospital in Robbinsdale by North Air Care. Schwanke is listed in critical condition. The incident remains under investigation. 07/24/18 18: COUNTY 10, LONG PRAIRIE Damage to Property On 7/24/18 David Larson (59) of rural Long Prairie reported that someone had flattened the tires on one of his tractors in the last couple of days. Larson also reported the theft of some small items from his property. 07/24/18 07:19 340TH ST / County 89, BROWERVILLE, MN Car Deer On Cheryl Holmquist reported she had hit a deer on 340 street wast of county road 89 with her 2011 GMC Acadia SUV. The SUV had damage tot he front driver side, Holmquist was not injured. 07/23/18 20: THUNDER RD, STAPLES, MN Theft On the Todd County Sheriff's Office received a report of a theft out of section 4 of Staples Township. 8 07/23/18 17: Gillis Ave S, BROWERVILLE, MN Scam- Phone/Mail/ On 7/23/18 Christina Foote (48) of Browerville reported being the victim of a mail and phone scam. Foote reported that she received a mailing informing her that her Social Security number had been compromised. Foote reported that she was advised her SS number was being used in drug related activities including money laundering. The TCSO urges all citizens to be vigilant in researching all mailings and phone calls requesting personal information. 07/23/18 04: COUNTY 39, LONG PRAIRIE, MN Car Deer On 07/23/2018, Michael Baum, of rural Long Prairie, was traveling south on County 39 south of County 12 when a deer entered the roadway and struck it with his vehicle. The vehicle, a 2014 Ford Escape sustained damage to the front end. 07/22/18 13: TH ST, LONG PRAIRIE, MN Accident Property On 07/22/2018, a juvenile male was traveling east on 170th st near 235th Ave when he lost control of his vehicle, left the roadway, and rolled. The vehicle, 2003 Mazda 6, sustained damage in the crash. The driver sustained no significant injuries. 07/22/18 11:02 COUNTY 73 / 494TH ST, HEWITT, MN Car Deer On 07/22/2018, Tapanga Flanery, of Parkers Prairie, was traveling south on county 73 near 494th St when a deer entered the roadway, and struck it with her vehicle. The vehicle, a 2011 Ford Taurus, sustained damage to the front and left side of the vehicle. 07/21/18 22:30 COUNTY 2 / COUNTY 11, SAUK CENTRE, MN Car Deer On 7/21/18, at approximately 2230 hours, Thomas Mclaughlin of Osakis reported that he had struck a deer on County 2 west of County 11 in Kandota Township. Mclaughlin was driving a 2005 GMC Sierra which sustained front end damage, no injuries were reported. Made by Page 8 of 10
9 07/21/18 11:52 STATE 27 / COUNTY 31, SWANVILLE, MN Assist Other Agency On at 1152 hours, TCSO received a call of a two vehicle property damage accident that occurred at the intersection of State 27 and County year old Jessica Schmiesing, Thief River Falls, was southbound on County 31. As Schmiesing went south through the intersection across State 27, she struck 36 year old Tracy Scherping, rural Long Prairie, who was traveling east on State 27. Schmiesing and her passenger were not injured and her Toyota SUV received minor damage to the drivers side front. Scherping and her two passengers were not injured and her Ford Sedan received minor damage to the drivers side rear. 07/21/18 07:02 COUNTY 13 / 184TH ST, BURTRUM, MN Abandoned Vehicle On 07/21/2018 at 0702 hours, TCSO received a call of a vehicle in the ditch on County 13 near 184th St in Burnhamville TWP sect year old Eric Koetter, rural Swanville, was eastbound on County 13 when he went of the road on the right side. The truck rolled over a few times. Eric was not injured and the truck was a total loss. The incident is still under investigation and will be forwarded to the Todd County Attorney for review. 07/19/18 18: rd, LONG PRAIRIE Fire On 7/19/2018 at 1959 hours the Todd County Sheriffs Office responded to a residential fire at rd Ave Long Prairie, MN No injuries were reported. 07/19/18 18: GOOSEBERRY TRL, LONG PRAIRIE, MN Theft On 7/19/18 Claire Rice (73) of rural Long Prairie reported the theft of a 4 person boating tube from his residence on lake Charlotte. The theft occurred between 7/12/18 and 7/16/18. 07/19/18 15:48 175th Ave / 430TH ST, BERTHA, MN Car Deer On 7/19/18 during the afternoon hours William Dobmeier of rural Bertha hit a deer on 175th Ave south of 430th St. Dobmeier was not injured in the crash but the 1994 Ford Ranger he was driving sustained damage. Boat tie off lines had been cut and gasoline had been siphoned out of a boat gas tank. The incident happened sometime between June 23rd and 30th. Anyone with information about this activity is encouraged to contact the Todd County Sheriff's Office. 07/19/18 08: Minnesota St W, Grey Eagle Damage to Property On the Todd County Sheriff's Office received a report of a damage to property at the St Joseph's Catholic Church in the City of Grey Eagle. A window on the east side of the church had been broken. The incident happened sometime between July 14th and 16th.
