2 Introduction FRAME School Pavilion Competition Anthology Architecture and Design Festival 2019 invites your school to design, build and exhibit a pavilion that represents both the festival theme and your school vision. The pavilion shall also host an activity that complements the festival events. ELIGIBILITY The competition is open to invited architecture schools in the Philippines. Each architecture school shall be represented by its respective student council and/or official architecture student organization. Several official student organizations per school may collaborate provided that there is only one team per school led by one official adviser from its faculty. Each team must have at least four team members who must each hold Anthology Architecture and Design Festival passes. THE CHALLENGE The challenge is to design and build a pavilion that shall represent the vision and identity of the school while also aligning with the festival theme Impact Architecture. The pavilion shall be exhibited in the entire three-day festival and shall host an activity that complements the festival program. The activity shall also be organized and operated by the team. Each invited school shall be given a reimbursable maximum construction budget of Php 40, This shall exclusively cover the cost of materials needed to construct the pavilion as it is assumed and encouraged that the students shall be the ones to construct the pavilions as a hands-on learning activity. This shall be reimbursed to the Festival Manager by February 22, Official receipts for the materials shall be presented for reimbursement. Anything in excess shall be shouldered by the team. 3 COMPETITION REQUIREMENTS Each participating school organization must submit a design proposal and activity brief. Each submission must include the following: 1. Project / Contact Info Participating Organization and School Full name, address, and contact number of one Booth Head At least four team members in charge of the booth All four team members must hold Anthology Architecture and Design Festival tickets. Workshop Title 2. Activity Brief 500-word project description outlining your concept Mechanics Guidelines 3. 9 PRIZES Prizes will be awarded at the Gala Night of Anthology Architecture and Design Festival on Sunday, the 17th of February At least two team members must be present at the Gala Night to receive the cash prizes or these will otherwise be forfeited. Grand Prize: PHP 50,000 The grand prize winner/s shall receive PHP 50, in cash, in which PHP 10, will be given to the respective adviser. 1st Runner Up: PHP 30,000 One runner-up shall receive Php30, in cash, in which PHP 5, will be given to the respective adviser.

10 JUDGING CRITERIA The Pavilion shall be judged based on the physical structure as well as the activity Pavilion 70% Does the concept exhibit originality, innovation and appropriateness in solving the design problem? Is the design solution presented in a comprehensive and easily understandable manner? Activity 30% Does the design proposal deliver a substantial or significant benefit to the greater community? 11 COPYRIGHTS Philippine copyright law shall apply, including Republic Act (R.A.) No (Intellectual Property Code of The Philippines). Competition materials submitted by all entrants will become the property of Anthology Architecture and Design Festival. This includes all economic rights such as the right to display, publish, reproduce the works and the right to control the erection of any building which reproduced the whole or a substantial part of the entrants works. Anthology Architecture and Design Festival shall have the right to make modifications in the designs, without distorting them in a way prejudicial to the entrants reputation. The foregoing shall be part of an undertaking that will be signed by all the entrants as a pre-requisite to their participation in this competition.
